This list includes a subdomain of the NIC website and also the CBI website. However, unlike the NIC hack where Anonymous just put up a message on the homepage of the website, the hackers in this attack seem to have gained access to a certain amount of data as well. To ensure the security of data the passwords of all email accounts have been renewed. The NSG hosts sensitive data like tenders on their servers. In the meantime, for anybody interested, here’s what I found and how I fixed it. The first step was to examine the google malware diagnostic page: the pertinent bit here is the line: Malicious software is hosted on 1 domain(s), including crocro.biz/. I used Firebug to examine the DOM for my loaded page and sure enough there was a script tag pointing to a file hosted on the crocro.biz domain followed by a hidden iframe element which had been generated by the script. I’d found the results of the hack, now I needed to find the root of the problem. HP MediaSmart Server hacked!
2008-06-01 00:49:00 As I've said earlier in these blogs, I have an HP MediaSmart Server (HP EX475, running Windows Home Server) for backing up several systems and sharing various kinds of files across my home network. It's a nice little server, with 2 terabytes of disk (4 drives, already upgraded from the standard single drive by me following HP's instructions), 512mg of memory, and 1.8 GHz AMD Sempron 3400+ CPU. Adaquate power for most. That's plenty for home backup and simple serving... however I'm of the opinion that you cna never have enough power. So, an upgrade is called for. But, which one?
