After playing for New England in 1997, he left as a free agent signing with the rival New York Jets, rejoining his former Patriots coach Bill Parcells in the Meadowlands. He was a restricted free agent and signed a six-year, $36 million contract, which New England declined to match. UConn Men Snap Skid With 69-46 Win Over Seton Hall
2012-02-04 20:43:00 The UConn Huskies men's basketball team came into Saturday afternoon's game having lost four straight games and were without their leader in head coach Jim Calhoun. The Seton Hall Pirates were partially in the same boat having lost five straight games and were without one of their best players in Herb Pope. So we knew when the final buzzer sounded that one team's losing streak would come at the end. Fortunately for the UConn men, the light bulbs finally went off and they were able to end their skid with a 69-46 win over the Pirates in front of a sold-out crowd at the XL Center in Hartford, CT. With the win, the Huskies improve to 15-7 (5-5 Big East) and are now 3-1 (all in the conference) without Calhoun this season. The Pirates fall to 15-8 (4-7). Ryan Boatright was the spark plug on both ends of the floor for UConn as he had 19 points, five assists and four steals. Jeremy Lamb had 17 points and eight rebound while Alex Oriakhi came off the bench to score 10 points and pull down...

San Francisco CPMC Hospital Protest At City Hall - Mayor's Office Absent
2011-07-18 06:53:00 On Friday, San Francisco City Hall got a visit from some "Angry Birds" in the form of supporters of an effort to build a new California Pacific Medical Center Hospital at Cathedral Hill. What has been described as a "complex," six-year negotiating battle, has evolved to the point where CPMC, upset that community opposition is standing in the way of job creation, called out as many people as it could collectively get it's hands on - employees, spouses and significant others of employees, and even kids - to come to San Franciso's City Hall and show support on it's steps. What's the problem? At issue is something called The Cathedral Hill Facility (pictured at left). What the nonprofit California Pacific Medical Center wants to do is build the $1.9 billion edifice and it wants to rebuild the St. Luke?s Hospital in the Mission district, said to be "aging." But the sticking point, according to The San Francisco Examiner, is that San Francisco Mayor Ed Lee has asked for $10...

Tuesday "Shocker", Players Turned Away At Halas Hall
2011-04-27 03:25:00 Tribune writer Brad Briggs posted an article which to-say-the-least, left me virtually "speechless". As we know, some players (since judge Nelson's ruling to lift the lockout yesterday) have made attempts to return to their usual off-season workouts at their respective teams facilities. However, many of them (including our players) were "turned-away" (see article).Damn! Just when I was singing the praises of how our ownership wanted to see this lockout come to an end, The Bears "brass" decide to take the "low-road". Even player representative Robbie Gould could not believe that the organization would (in his words) "go there".
