You'd think by now I would've mastered how to make my own greeting cards. Well, I haven't. Every time I try to make one, I think it is not creative enough, and I end up not sending it. I've even tried printing off cards on my computer. I'm guessing my printer isn't professional enough for that either. Off to the store to get a generic Hallmark card. I bought three yesterday at $2.99 each? When did they get so expensive? Were they always so pricey? Meat Recall: Update to Unsafe Practices at the Westland/Hallmark Meat Pac
2008-02-19 04:48:00 The unsafe (and cruel) practices discovered by the Humane Society and described in this post have led to the recall of 143 million pounds of beef, much of it sent to school lunch programs. See this article from the Seattle Times.Apparently, the meat was not available to consumers at grocery stores. It was sold to schools through the federal school lunch program and was purchased by some fast food stores, including Jack in the Box and In-N-Out burger. Both of these restaurants said they stopped using the meat earlier this month when they heard of the problems at the meat packing plant. Unfortunately, many news outlets are reporting that much of the meat has already been eaten by children nationwide in the school lunch program, but thankfully there have been no reported illnesses from the consumption of this meat. 2008-02-01 08:51:00 A type of troublesome email I’ve seen recently is fake Hallmark e-card emails. If you get one, be sure to hover over the link to the card itself. In the email I received, the link points to “http://62.183.68.110/car-d.exe”, hardly a legit Hallmark card. If you get anything that isn’t directly from someone you know, or doesn’t contain any very specific info about the sender, always take care with clicking links. Even if you do click this Hallmark one, you still have to choose to save or run it, if you accidentally run into this, just cancel and you should be ok. I wanted to contact Hallmark about this, but in the process it became clear that they know about the problem, so in the end I didn’t submit my email. Good job Hallmark for noticing and doing something, I hope they manage to accomplish something.
