I've been staying here in KL for 7 years now and have not tasted any Rendang like the way my mom made it so I decided to give it a try.. This would be my first year celebrating it after I started working. Meaning what? I have to shop for EVERYTHING with my own money It’s quite depressing especially when I don’t get ‘duit raya’ (something like ‘angpow’) anymore… But it’s quite fun though when it comes to shopping. Because since it’s your OWN money, that means, you have a full control of it. You can spend however you like on whatever you want, hehe I bought 2 pairs of ‘Kebaya’ for this year’s Hari Raya. 2007-10-11 16:53:00 Wow! What a day! Went to Pasar Pudu today. Surprised though, not many people today. It could be coz it's a working day, people are all back in their hometown or they all shop tomorrow because they actually enjoy the crowd!I got all my ingredients for my famous (at least at my IL's) "Sambal Goreng" and a new dish that I am trying for the first time - my mom's "Rendang"! My fridge is now officially a cook's fridge..hehehe..See the prawn and the beef, the liver and the lungs, all the ingredients all cut and blended. I decided to do all the preparation in advance so I can cook leisurely and cleanly. I just hate a dirty kitchen. So tomorrow, I just need to cook!Maybe I even have time to do the "ketupat"?? We'll see...lolz..

Ha!Deja vu folks!Every year without fail, we tend to see this sort of thing happened all over again!I?m talking about our legendary seasonal price hike tradition that would mysteriously appear in every month of Ramadhan year after year!Well, I have to be honest here. I do feel that this year is the worst ever! Luckily for me, I?m not that type of Muslim who would normally purchase unnecessary food stuffs simply for the sake of Iftar or breaking fast. Really, my eating habits are much more humble in the month of Ramadhan. A simple ?nasi lemak? would do. Yet, I still feel the pinch!This year like always, some folks would come out complaining about those ridiculous price hikes. Good for them but they have done that for so many years all ready. No matter what they did to overcome it, the end results would always be the same. Complete failures! Those prices would continue to rise shamelessly.
