Is it really Rupe?  NPR  Yup.One of Wendi's 51 virgin tweets to CNN's Piers Morgan -- a UK tabloid rag ex-editor under investigation in the Brit phone hacking scandal that's claimed Rupe and his sons -- is merely odd:NYT "On Yacht, Murdoch Catches the Twitter Wave": Some people sunbathe and drink daiquiris on their Caribbean vacations. 2011-08-24 02:02:00
Earlier today, Toyota made a few announcements live on Toyota.com and one of those announcements is that the 2012 Toyota Camry will serve as the Official Pace Car of the 54th annual Daytona 500 coming up next February at Daytona International Speedway. Now before I get into why I?m disappointed about this announcement, let me state my opinion of Toyota first.... Can You Hear Me Now?
2011-06-10 15:00:00
After Jesus had revealed himself to his disciples and eaten breakfast with them, he said to Simon Peter,"Simon, son of John, do you love me more than these?"Simon Peter answered him, "Yes, Lord, you know that I love you."Jesus said to him, "Feed my lambs."He then said to Simon Peter a second time,"Simon, son of John, do you love me?"Simon Peter answered him, "Yes, Lord, you know that I love you." He said to him, "Tend my sheep."He said to him the third time,"Simon, son of John, do you love me?"Peter was distressed that he had said to him a third time,"Do you love me?" and he said to him,"Lord, you know everything; you know that I love you."Jesus said to him,...
A Letter to Last.fm Regarding My Preference Not to Hear Any More Selections
2011-05-10 08:00:00
Dear Last.fm, I don't have to tell you how much I've grown to love your free online music service. After months of conscientiously clicking the LOVE icon, clicking the BAN TRACK icon, and sitting through songs like Honeymoon Suite's "Other Side of Midnight," doing by best to honestly assess whether the track in question enhances or degrades my library, my personal station now reflects my personal tastes with eerie precision. Alternating effortlessly between Night Ranger, Jane's Addiction and Taproot, you provide an almost perfect soundtrack to my day. Sure, we went through a few rough patches, like that time you thought I wanted to hear bands whose vocals sounded like the shrieks of cave trolls being flayed alive, and the time you thought I wanted to listen to songs by Kajagoogoo other than "Too Shy." And the time you thought I wanted to listen to Kajagoogoo's "Too Shy." But we've gotten past all that, and now you play a wide variety of music that I actually enjoy listening ...

What do you do when that toddler screaming at the top of his lungs in the grocery store/restaurant/gymboree/libra-ry is YOUR toddler? Parents of screamers, this post is for you. (A mom writes) Dear Parent Coach:I love my son, I really do. He's 20 months old and in the last few months he's been having these awful screaming fits every time we go out in public. Well, actually it happens at home too but it's really bad when we're out somewhere because I get these looks from parents like I'm the worst mom ever. It's humiliating! He knows he's not supposed to scream like that because I've told him like a million times, but still he shrieks whenever I try to...
American Idol Recap - Let's Hear It for the Boys or Whatever
2011-03-02 13:30:00
The early audition rounds are over and it's time to get down to the meat and potatoes of American Idol.  And it's time for me to start recapping again.  Here are my credentials:I've been writing about Idol since back when people thought American Idol: Taylor Hicks had a nice ring to it.  I'm a classically trained singer.  Really. My go-to karaoke songs include "Fading Like a Flower" by Roxette and "My Humps" by the Black Eyed Peas.Let's get down to it.  Seacrest kicked off the show looking about ten years younger than he did last year.  He really is the new-style Dick Clark.  He posed some questions to the judging panel, asking Randy how it feels to be working with Jennifer...

The Howlies - BTR Hear & There
2011-01-07 13:36:00
Today someone from BreakThru Radio asked me if i could do some promotion for The Howlies, and i think for the program Hear & there, the Howlies had performed in a setting that they feel defines their character. And they chose The Heartland Brewery in New York. I didn't know a thing about the Howlies, nor i did know about the program Hear & There, but after watching them preform and do a song called 'Smoke' i think the Howlies are fun, and BreakThru Radio is cool. So dear people check them out. [mr.A] The Howlies are a four-piece band from Atlanta, Ga. Mixing punk with straight-up rock 'n' roll, their debut LP Trippin' with Howlies (2009) earned them a nod in Spin Magazine. The Howlies' latest EP, Stunned, is available here. Everyone knows the best way to enjoy music is to experience it live. Which is why every week, BTR is dedicated to bringing you a brand new episode of Hear & There. We serve up original and dynamic musicians, performing live in unique and crea...
Do You Hear What I Hear?
2010-12-29 02:23:00
Thank you, everyone, for the Christmas wishes and I hope you all had a very Merry Christmas!I've had a hectic week, filled with lots of delicious food and I have so many pictures to share. However, I have diarrhea and a bloated stomach sticks out a mile on me right now! I overindulged at Christmas Eve's dinner and ended up I have a Santa Claus-like belly. Seriously, FML! We eat ourselves silly and try, of course, to remember the true meaning of Christmas and celebrate the birth of Jesus.Anyway, here's one of my favorite pieces of Christmas classic masterpiece, which started out as poem for peace. This song carried a beautiful message close to people in all walks of life and the message of peace is as desperately needed today as it was then.Let us hope and pray that, when it is sung in churches worldwide during the Christmas season, this song of peace will remind us that ?The Child, The Child sleeping in the night? came to ?bring us goodness and light.?Come join Music Monday and...
Let's Hear The Conclusion To The Whole Matter...
2010-12-23 00:41:00
Bears O-Line In CampThe conclusion is; the Bears are a "very" good team with a "weak" offensive line period.  Ironically, people are comparing this Bears team to the one from 2006 which made it to Super Bowl XLI.  Like that team, we are proficient on Special Team with Devin Hester (The Best In The Game, and Daniel Manning returning kicks), great on defense, and a solid running attack (at times).  The main difference between this team and the 2006 squad is, we are "much" better at the QB position hands-down.In 2006 we got to the Super Bowl with the "worst" QB in the league in Rex Grossman.  TrustGrossman Fumbles Again me, I am so passionate about this assessment that I...
TCF Field Furer Continues, But Do We Need To Hear About-It?
2010-12-18 05:33:00
Work Continues At TCF.Players are continuing to make their case against the conditions in TCF Bank Stadium's Field. The latest being Lance Briggs.  Truthfully, do we really need to stop reporting and harping on this issue?  And yes, I'm talking about "YOU" John M. Crist (Bear Report Editor).Their are plenty of people who are working around the clock to get GophersMetrodomes Crappy Roof. Field in best possible shape for Monday nights game.  If any body deserves the heat for this screw-up, it's the Vikings organization, not the NFL.  They (the Vikes brass) knew "damn-well" that their "roller-dome" roof wasn't worth a damn for over 20 years.  So let's point the finger in the right direction, at Zigi Wilf, and not...
Things You Shouldn't Hear From Your Agent
2010-12-13 13:42:00
This blog has discussed before the important role of a real estate agent in a home/condo purchase. Chicago is blessed to have some of the nation's top agents helping homebuyers find a suitable property. There are, however, some distinct warning signs that your agent isn't right for you. Here are five statements you don't want to hear from your real estate agent:"I've never done a short sale, but..." At this point in the real estate game, just about everyone is familiar with the short sale process. It's long and painful, but it should be carefully navigated, preferably by an agent who knows the process. If you're buying a property that's listed as a short sale, it is preferable that you have...

Hear me roar in numbers too big to ignore
2010-11-01 13:00:00
I was writing about Mary Kassian presentation, "You've come a long way Baby!" from the '08 True Women's Conference.  Part Four I am going to breeze through quickly. Part One , Part Two, Part Three She used a good example of what Consciousness raising was.  That is where she left off the last time. Consciousness-raising was actually a political technique used by the revolutionary army of Mao Tse-tung. His slogan was, ?Speak bitterness to recall bitterness. Speak pain to recall pain.? To promote discord and instability in a village, his political revolutionaries would call the townswomen together and get them to talk about their hurts. ?Come tell me about the hurts that you've experienced.? So the women were encouraged to speak bitterness and pain, and the initial reluctance gave way to collective anger as woman after woman told stories of being raped by landlords, being sold as concubines, or physical abuse. As women vented their bitterness, they experience...

Summer vacation is over – hold your applause, I still can’t hear myself
2010-08-25 03:22:00
In these parts, lazy days of summer have mercifully come to an end. Just a few days ago, as the weather grew ever more humid and children tried to make the last few hours of fun last and last, the rest of us came perilously close to court-ordered commitment hearings. Frustrated moms threatened to leave ...
Did You Hear, There's An International Listening Association?
2010-08-12 23:00:00
They’re a quiet group. I was surprised to learn from Listen.org that: People listen at 125–200 words per minute, but think at 1,000–3,000 per minute. Most of us are distracted, preoccupied, or forgetful 75% of the time we should be listening.Immediately after we listen to someone, we only recall about 50% of what they said.Long-term, we only remember 20% of what we hear. The solution? Deep listening. Deep listening is focusing intently on what the other person is saying — no interrupting, criticizing, judgment, or verbal responses like, gulp, offering advice. It’s pure listening, letting go of any beliefs you might have about the talker or their situation. No “What should I say?” It's pure being-there. And the other person will notice the difference, just as you will. It sounds almost impossible to do (most of us have trained ourselves to do otherwise) but practicing deep listening is actually quite enlightening, even fun. I felt like I was 4...
Waiting to Take Off on JetBlue... Ever Hear of it? Fade To: Dreams of Dai

I was hooked up. The kids were no problem because they're zoned out with all the tv. I read... not just the safety procedure brochure, I read fiction, news, memoir. I wrote three ideas out... completely. I watched America's Next Fucked Model or whatever. We strolled to Union Square and continued to the East Village where I was shocked and appalled to find my beloved East 6th Street Indian restaurants now sharing their block with Thai, Japanese, and plain jane vegan stuff. Not right, I didn't like it. Still don't. Haven't accepted it.

What To Do When Some People Listen but Do Not Hear
2010-06-12 17:35:00
Have you ever wondered about some people who seem to never get past the pablum stage? As though they will never come to that day when they are ready to take on 'strong meat'.You can spend hours explaining something to them, it seems they've understood and yet when you tell them it's time to take this to the Lord, they don't take the initiative and go to the source, they want to hang onto you, getting you to discuss it further, from different angles, go over it again and coming back to you with something like, ' I understand. If only *** would act differently or treat me better or or or....'You're trying to get this person to see their own relationship with the Lord, how to deal with a problem, how to give it over to the Lord. You spend so much time, detailing for them, what their next move should be only to hear them come back with pointing a finger at 'the enemy' instead of actually grasping what you're trying to tell them.I've personally run into this just recently and...
