My Little Slice of Hell
2009-11-03 18:38:00
To document the passing of another Halloween, it is only appropriate to talk about the ?Hell House? craze which was originally started by Jerry Fallwell and has now spread throughout the US. Thanks religious fanatics for another awesome scare tactic/guilt trip to send more people into religion-induced states of brain inactivity! The more crap like this starts to pop up around the US the less it becomes ?fanaticism? and the more it becomes the ?norm? which to me is scary as hell! Congratulations to these Christians for actually frightening an atheist with some of your contrived bullsh*t. Ok, it didn?t scare me into being religious and worrying about ?being saved? but now I?m faking terrified about my actual life, the one I have now! read more
Top Ten Things About the Bears that Scare the Hell Out of Me
2009-11-02 11:51:00
I'm not usually one to write something negative about the Bears after a victory. But gents, you leave me no choice after that yawn of a 30-6 win over the Browns. Yesterday was supposed to be the game that got us back on track before we start a tough four game stretch against the Cardinals, 49ers, Eagles and vikings. Instead, we're left wondering what kind of team we have this year and if they're even good enough to get to the playoffs. Don't get me wrong, I'm happy we won and I could look back on this list five weeks from now and laugh at my idiocy (I'll probably do that anyway). But until then, here are the Top Ten...

Send Warm Coats to Hell - I've Switched to Ubuntu
2009-09-24 21:53:00
In my last post, I mentioned that I hadn't gotten around to blogging on my birthday. There's a reason for this. Grab some coffee for a long yarn. See, I'd gotten a new box, and I was so determined to wait for the 13.0 release of Slackware, that I was content to twiddle with Windows while I waited. Slackware hit final, and I rejoiced. And I actually got Slackware 13.0 installed and running like a top on the new box. But I was still running my old machine for daily use. The thing with Slackware is, it takes me a month or so to set up before I'm ready to move in. All that geeking around takes time, you know. This release saw vast changes to Slackware - the package format changed. This meant even fewer packages would be available then. If I wanted anything not included in the 3 Slackware disks (the other three are source code), I'd have to compile it myself. After installing the libraries and dependencies, of course, which I would also compile myself. Dropline, which I praised ...

What the Hell Happened: Joe's Revenge
2009-09-08 12:35:00
Continued from yesterday So who, against all odds, managed to avoid the chopping block? Joe! Freaking Joe! Suddenly, I didn't feel all warm and fuzzy. Why did I get laid off and this guy's still there? When we switched from Quark to InDesign a few years back, I was admittedly the last one to embrace it. But once I learned it, I found I really liked it and just kept learning new tricks and shortcuts. Whenever we had a little downtime, I'd explore some of the features and find something new. And if there was something I couldn't figure out, I'd keep trying different things, or look up the problem online until I found a solution. That's what I do. It's like when I couldn't remember the name of that cartoon with the talking fireworks. I FOUND IT! It took forever, but by God, I found it. On the other hand, you have Joe. Who you may recall from his early work in Highlights for Children as Goofus. Goofus only learned enough to barely get by. Why bother retaining knowledge when ...
What the Hell Happened: Tell me about the rabbits, George
2009-09-07 07:40:00
So...how was your summer? Mine was crap. I tried to write this several times over the past few months, before deciding that the best way to express my thoughts would be in my first ever video blog. But once I started recording, I drew a blank, so I had to write it all down anyway. And then there's the issue of where to look. I tried looking directly at the camera, but the constant stare came out looking insane and a little creepy. So I tried it again, looking slightly off camera, but without any eye contact, it looked like I was trying to hide something. So I ultimately decided to just go back to writing the whole damn massive thing out in sections like I was going to do in the first place, except now I have this needless explanatory paragraph to start out with. Anyway, it all started on Free Donut Day. If you ordered a coffee at Dunkin Donuts, they'd give a donut for free. Who the hell doesn't like free donuts? So I went there first thing in the morning, got my coffee and my fr...

Music Review: Drag Me To Hell Original Motion Picture Soundtrack, by Christ

From the first trailer showcasing Sam Raimi’s Drag Me To Hell, it was clear that Raimi was taking a break from the multi-billion dollar web-slinging franchise and heading back into the horror genre to give audiences a little reminder of where his true roots lie. And Drag Me To Hell was appreciated by audiences everywhere ...

StageCoach To Hell Takes The Colorful People for A Ride With Its Subcrime
2009-08-28 14:51:00
If this don't beat all.The disgrace of American money greed continues.I just sit here typing, shaking my head in disbelief. In a sworn affidavit by a leading loan officer(whistleblower) this is how the Wells Fargo Stagecoach to Hell scam worked:Wells Fargo Bank would work hand in hand with Evangelical Churches to get the Churches to send people, of color, who needed a loan their way. In return for these "Marks"(and we are not talking about the Mark, Matthew, Luke and John Gospels here people) the church would receive 350 dollars. One has to interject here: "WHAT WOULD JESUS THINK?" "WHAT WOULD JESUS DO?""I'm gonna go out on a thinking limb here and say that Jesus would not overturn the money tables in the Church as he did in the past. I'm gonna say Jesus would put a pox on the House of Wells Fargo Bank and all it's subsidaries and anyone who partook in these sordid crimes. I don't like thinking for J.C. and one can only speculate, but I bet I wouldn't be too far from the th...

Hell is Other Parents: A Book I Can Totally Relate To!
2009-08-21 08:19:00
I'm asked to read lots of books for review, and although I'd love to read every single one, there will never be enough time in my world to get through even half of them. However when this pitch came through, something drew me to it. Not sure what exactly led me to the light, maybe the title, maybe the cover (way to bring back the "Baby on Board" type sign, I actually wish I could get the "Hell is Other Parents" one, I'd proudly display it on my car), or maybe it was the fact that the book is composed of essays instead of a long drawn out biography. Regardless of what drew me to what I consider a mommy masterpiece, I love Deborah Copaken Kogan and think that we should be friends...With swim school in session, I have exactly 45 minutes a day to myself. I sit by the side of the pool and pretend to watch my boys, "Mom, did you see that? Watch this? Mom, look what I can do." I look up, "Uh huh, awesome." Not even knowing what just happened because I'm too busy reading, escapi...

72 hours of hell.
2009-07-15 01:12:00
I always try to write a little something about each and every hospitalization Ive experienced, but this is one Id just as soon forget about. In total I spent 7 days in the hospital, 6 of them in the Intensive care unit, 3 of those days on continuous Bipap in a living kind of hell. I’m usually the first to poke fun at my own disease and sometimes I’ll even video tape some not- so- pleasant moments in the hospital, but the video my partner captured this time, actually made me cringe. This time around when asked what my wishes were concerning intubation, I chose not to.. ( not to be intubated that is) …..Big Mistake, I thought I was doing the brave thing by declining to be intubated if my breathing got bad enough. I thought that I was such an old pro at this, that I could fight off the attack with only continuous nebs and Bipap. Had I known just how difficult it was going to be to breath on a bipap machine during an asthma crisis, I would have definitely opted...

Five Things More Important than Pork Lung or Swine Flu or Whatever the Hell
2009-05-01 03:45:00
1. The Environment: A provision to allow oil drilling within three miles of our coast flew through the Florida House of Representatives. The Senate killed the bill, for now, but did *your* Representative vote for it? Find out now. 2. Country Music No Longer Sucks: You heard it here first. Phil Vassar wrote a song called Bobbi With an *i* about a good ‘ole country boy who likes to wear dresses and no one calls for him to be sodomized or thrown from the back of a Ford truck. 3. Women’s Issues: Two bills going through Congress will help reduce the need for abortions in this country: The Prevention First Act and The Pregnant Women Support Act. Folks with a lot to gain from the culture wars will try to convince you that these acts are in competition for the same funds. Reject their arguments. We need them both. 4. Gun Violence: In most states anyone can walk into a gun show and buy guns — like AK-47s — from unlicensed sellers without a Brady criminal background check. Las...

So What the Hell Should I Write About?

What the hell is wrong with President Obama?
2009-04-15 03:05:00
Did you hear? Obama is vowing to fight piracy. “I want to be very clear that we are resolved to halt the rise of piracy in that region and to achieve that goal, we’re going to have to continue to work with our partners to prevent future attacks,” Obama said at a Washington news conference. A fucking news conference over this. Sea Pirates Tainted Peanut Butter. E-Coli Spinach. A.I.G. General Motors. Steroids in Baseball. Bernie Madoff. Nothing on gun violence. It’s just not enough of a problem. Jesus. Even Newsweek does everything but call him and his administration a bunch of pussies. Seems the only folks doing anything is the Brady Center to Prevent Gun Violence. They are the only ones consistently calling on our elected officials to get their heads out of the sand and put a stop to it. Join them. Send out an email to your representative in Congress, or Obama himself, and volunteer to help spread the word. For the love of Pete, people. Do something.

See it was a one fine day when I woke up to meet up with some of my friends for a day out when on the way, Darren told me about this video that shows how Foie Gras was made. I've never eaten Foie Gras & I never will eat after watching this video. Seriously, this is absolute cruelty and inhumane. How sick are you? Why people who enjoy foie gras pay a sum of money to eat a disease dish is just beyond me. It is like you're paying to eat a tumor of a another person. Definitely check out this video and watch it, you'll be sick to your stomach. I'd say foie gras should be banned. I know we're eating animal meats and all but this is beyond it. Purposefully torturing this birds horribly till they suffer to death just for the sake of a stupid dish that you just won't die if you don't eat. WARNING: don't watch while you're eating, it can be upsetting to your tummy. ~THE END~

I've never forgotten the Manitoba-shaped $1,350 road to easy street. And I've never forgotten it mostly because, like all Americans, I'm searching for fame and fortune and a way to do even less work than I usually do, on a daily basis. I know, I know -- I do about 13 minutes of actual "work" per day, but I'm still expected to show up there at the office, and still expected to wear pants. I ask you, is that the American dream? No. The American dream is fame and fortune through, well, luck. Luck and, in the case of the Manitoba flake, nibbling at the edges of cereal until it looks vaguely like a geographic blob, which all cornflakes do, anyway. Which is a good idea, because also the American dream involves food.Since nobody has yet taken me up on my offer to create a reality show about me -- still open, Hollywood! I'm still taking b...
