Puttaparthi and Misconduct of Sathya Sai Baba?s Officials
2009-12-15 23:32:00 The writer's thoughts prompted my recollections of an incident at the time I was teaching in Sathya Sai Baba's college. It involved one of the other long-stay devotees, who had come to Sathya Sai Baba in the sixties, an American man named Joseph. In 1979, in the Whitefield ashram crowd awaiting Sai Baba?s public appearance (darshan), Joseph, began to talk out aloud ? quite audibly for those who sat near on the sand, as I did. (A large auditorium now stands in that area). He was distressed and expressed moral outrage - he repeated that some college hostel boys had told him that Sai Baba had asked a number of them (in Joseph?s words) to "line up and masturbate."
The Sathya Sai Organization: Almost overnight, dissenters treated as demons
2009-12-11 22:13:00 Hard questions were being raised. It was not enough, as so many devotees do when there is a process of questioning, to assume, somehow, the unworthiness of those who question. In that direction the psychological factor of being in-denial is all too likely to kick in. Honest questions merit honest answers. During twenty-five years of deep devotion, I underwent many wonderful experiences, but, in some respects, facing the questions was not one of them. (The great benefits of doing so and I would like to address that aspect at another time). In common with so many former devotees and other critics around the world, as I began to hear the direct testimony, and, in other cases, from parents and close friends of those who had been affected, the experience was gut-wrenching. Indeed one of the ways in which the scandal that is Puttaparthi has become ever more widely known is because those who have left it have sought spiritual guidance from other religious organizations of various kinds.

2009-12-10 00:10:00 There are many decent men and women who, moved by conscience, have spoken out calling for proper investigation of the countless allegations against Sathya Sai Baba. One of these is Stephen Carthew, who, until 2000, was a spiritual coordinator in the Sathya Sai Organization for South Australia. Now entering his 60’s, he has been doing his Ph.D. in ...
Questioning Sathya Sai Baba: India?s Most Famous and Politically Powerful G
2009-12-08 22:52:00 In 2000 came the publication of three articles in Nexus magazine (August-September). A person close to me, who knew well that I had deafened my ears to anything inimical to Sathya Sai Baba, strongly urged me (putting the magazine right into my hand) to read these articles, one of which was by the head of the Australian Sathya Sai Organization, Terry Gallagher, an agricultural scientist and businessman. The editor, Duncan Roads, wrote of this own experiences of disillusionment with Sathya Sai Baba, but, more particularly printed three articles that were already to be found on the Internet. See: ?BILD? Story. ?Guru Wants Sex? (Sathya Sai Baba) Before returning to Sathya Sai Baba for a few months in November 1997, and sensing a momentous issue looming, I had somehow briefly dared to look at writings on the Internet. I read the Canadian academic rationalist philosopher Professor Dale Beyerstein (now deceased) of the University of British Columbia. His very incisively-written book: "Sai...
Robert Priddy?s Views on Key Human Values in Relation To Sathya Sai Baba
2009-12-06 00:04:00 In the brief article - Human Values ? Sai Baba?s truncated ideas - Robert Priddy, an academic philosopher at the University of Oslo for many years, and a former head of the Sathya Sai Organization in Norway, states his view of what human values are, in contradistinction to "divinely-instated values for humans" as proclaimed by Sathya Sai Baba. Priddy writes: "The values according to [or against which] we act are unavoidable and essential links that tie together personal perceptions and judgements, motives and actions into the sphere of common cultural values. They are central to grasping the motivations of our social and political life. Sai Baba promotes his own brand of ?five human values?, which is a simple and often all too vague recipe. His biographer Kasturi writes that Sai Baba scribbled the 5 values down on the back of an envelope when Kasturi asked him to define them. Grabbed as if out of thin air without any deeper thought, it is quite evident how shallow, rigid and inco...

2009-12-03 00:06:00 Dr Kanwaljeet ‘Sunny’ Anand of Arkansas, USA, was a George W. Bush Administration medical advisor. One might think that a physician of distinction would be on-guard about crowd estimates. Or, again, in treating highly questionable interpretations of sections of various scriptures as though they are established fact. Many, however, are the cases where otherwise intelligent individuals, blinded by their fervent belief systems, abandon reason ...

2009-12-01 00:41:00 As some stage, scholars with time to deal with all the questions it raises may interest themselves in the official and semi-official Sathya Sai Orgnization 'weeding' that has been going on in regard to documentation which - all unintentionally - got on to Sathya Sai websites. This kicking over of traces tells its own story. If the pages of history do not tell in an organization's favour it destroys or changes them. Below is a scan from ExBaba.com Guestbook of a photo sent by a writer critical of us. Note the Saibabaofindia imprimature on the upper left hand side of the photo. This Saibabofindia group contains those long associated with - and some members close indeed to - Sathya Sai Baba. It is not official in the Sathya Sai Organization sense, but to describe it as semi-official is quite apt, given that it provides much information from a close quaters vantage-point from within what is a very highly-controlled organization.
Ireland Acts On Clergy Sexual Abuse. India Does Not Act On Sathya Sai Baba
2009-11-27 00:37:00 My readers may well have a keen sense of déjà vu as they read the piece on Ireland. Inescapably one thinks of Sathya Sai Baba, his key officials in the international Sathya Sai Organization and successive local, state and central governments in India. All have have profoundly covered up in regard to both allegations of Sai Baba's (and some of his servitors') longtime, serial sexual abuse of boys and young men, and many other gravely serious wrongdoings. Ireland's Justice Minister, Dermot Ahern, appears determined to act strongly. The Guardian reports, "Ahern said there should be no hiding place for the abusers even if they wore a clerical collar. "The persons who committed these dreadful crimes ? no matter when they happened ? will continue to be pursued" "Even if they wore a clerical collar"?!
Liberhan Commission Report, India: Names Some Long-time Close Associates of
2009-11-25 03:13:00 Right now, a media furore is erupting in India, which relates to the "leaked" details of the the Judge Liberhan Commission report, a 17-year inquiry into the 1992 Ayodhya Mosque demolition. A number of the figures very seriously named are long-time close associates of Sathya Sai Baba and his core servitors. The report names the former Prime Minister Vajpayee, his Deputy Prime Minister Lal Krishna Advani (not a devotee of Sathya Sai Baba) and former high-powered government minister Murli Manohar Joshi as instrumental figures in orchestrating the demolition and hiding their roles in this extremely painful episode in modern Indian history. The disgraced former Home Minister, Ashok Singhal, who along with Vajpayee and Joshi is an old adherant of Sathya Sai Baba, is also named.

Sathya Sai Baba 84th Birthday Celebrations. Will 21st Century India Tolerat
2009-11-22 02:03:00 Unimaginable splurgings of pomp and conspicuous waste attend Sathya Sai Baba's imperial-like birthday celebrations. The global financial meltdown will not have melted down his vast reserves of gold. Many politicians from right across India's political spectrum fall at Sathya Sai Baba's feet. Likewise industrialists, judges, many of the top brass from the armed services and police, and so forth. We know, too, via strong former devotee contacts with those who have roles at high levels, that, though there are those in foreign service who regret it, diplomats have been told "not to rock the boat" on the Sathya Sai Baba issue. This is actually a great disservice to India, because Sathya Sai Baba is NOT India!
Golden Throne of India?s Sathya Sai Baba. He says he will Rule the world so
2009-11-21 22:05:00 Soon never comes ... On November 23, 2009, he celebrates with enormous pomp and extravagance his 84th birthday. Sathya Sai Baba is haggard, weak and ailing, although on his 60th birthday he proclaimed that he would thenceforth not age. He long ago said that he will travel to other countries, actually naming some of them, and that he would perform these visits after first putting his "own backyard" (India) in order. In many respects, India is still in a parlous state.
On Leaving the Sathya Sai Baba Cult ? Ex Leaders and Rank-and-File
2009-11-20 11:43:00 In 1999, came the publication (August-September) of three articles in a piece entitled: Sathya Sai Baba Exposed. These had been taken up from other sources by the editor, Duncan Roads, who, quite separately and via his own sources in Australia, had suffered his own disillisionment in Sai Baba. A person close to me, who knew well that I had deafened my ears to anything inimical to Sathya Sai Baba, strongly urged me to read these articles, one of which was by the (then) head of the Australian Sathya Sai Organization, Terry Gallagher, an agricultural scientist and businessman of Kyama, in the state of New South Wales on Australia's eastern seaboard. Terry Gallagher?s had come to realise ? between 1986 and 1993 (the latter being the year of the grisly police executions in Sai Baba?s bedroom) that grave matters had been profoundly covered up, not only by the ashram officials but by local, state and central governments. Those who eventually leave commonly do not leave suddenly. There ...

2009-11-18 09:55:00 Glen Meloy, of Palm Desert, California, a global coordinator in the effort to expose Sathya Sai Baba and his worldwide cult, died of cancer on January 1, 2005. He was born May 3, 1930 DesMoines, Iowa. Since early 2000, Glen Meloy was a major leader of a coalition of former Sai Baba devotees and others, known as The Exposé, which calls for formal investigation of alleged crimes by this guru and the cover-up perpetrated by his organization.
Basava Premanand Long Challenged Indian Governments To Come Clean On Sathya
2009-11-18 00:13:00 Among many attempts to awaken India to the great danger posed by chronic addiction to swamis, gurus and the like, the formost Indian rationalist B.Premanand tried to arouse government and public accountability. The odds he faced were utterly formidable. See my in memoriam tribute to Premanand, with whom I kept in touch over the years: Basava Premanand. Vale. A fighter for truth who lived what others preach One might have thought that the religious organizations, were they to have nothing to hide, would, in effect, have said something like this: Yes, we agree that horrible oppressions in the name of religion exist. We disagree with Premanand in regard to deism and disbelief. However, we are at one with him in wishing to stop exploitation, and we too will speak out very clearly, and do our best to ensure that you are not a voice crying in the wilderness.
Reply to a Sathya Sai Devotee?s Note re: David and Faye Bailey
2009-11-14 22:51:00 Recently, because there was the giving of a name and phone number, I replied to a note from one who would part company with the testimony of David and Faye Bailey, of whom I wrote in the recent article. My practice is to reply (usually more briefly than below) - courteously - to those followers who write with apparent sincerity, and not to reply to those who are rude: David Bailey and Thomas Wiehe. (Late) Ron and Peggy Laing: Deeply Alienated From Sathya Sai Organization
2009-11-13 23:44:00 Even before the worldwide onslaught of revelations - greatly facilitated by the sudden, dynamic growth of the Internet - of Sathya Baba's serial and widespread sexual abuse of boys and young men (and other abuses far beyond), well-loved devotees like Ron and Peggy Laing (UK) saw that Sathya Sai Baba's worldwide organization did not bear fair and reasonable scrutiny. Ron Laing was in the unusual position of being the only non-Indian (at the time) on the Sathya Sai World Council. It appears that, among the Laings other grave concerns was the extremely rude and autocratic conduct of the then world head of the Sathya Sai Organization, Indulal Shah. It was the latter who summarily sacked two widely-respected UK organization heads, Lucas Ralli and Aime Levy, simply because they disagreed with him.

Sathya Sai Baba and Sexual ?Grooming? of Boys and Young Men
2009-11-11 03:33:00 Shortly before Christmas 1997, a highly capable and lovely person, with whom I worked among orphans at Puttaparthi, Maria Quoos, a Polish film and stage actress and businesswoman, came anxiously to me . She is now leader of the Polish Sathya Sai Organization. Ms Quoos brought a married Polish man in his mid twenties to meet me in my old friend Walia's restaurant (the owner was Sathya Sai Baba's former head gardener). The Polish man, a member of the group of which she led, was distressed and confused and Ms Quoos wanted me to help. He told us that in their recent interview with him, Sai Baba had covertly grasped his penis.

2009-11-04 19:22:00 After our urgent, co-ordinated actions, the British Prime Minister Tony Blair and his wife Cherie were within minutes prevented from visiting Sai Baba at Whitefield near Bangalore. They were ten minute?s drive away from his ashram when, heeding our representations, British High Commission officials were able to dissuade Blair and his wife from visiting Sathya Sai Baba.

2009-11-02 11:16:00 Serguei Badaev was ex-President of the Sathya Sai Organization's Moscow centre, ex-deputy National Coordinator and National Sathya Sai Education in Human Values (SSEHV) Coordinator for Russia. Serguei Badaev is an incisive writer with a professional background (the physical sciences), whose writings critical of the Sai sect - no less than those of others who have raised critical questions - receive no answer from Sathya Sai Baba and his officials. Nor do they explain how those with years of loving, sacrificial and dedicated service to the Sathya Sai Baba organization (what to speak in their own professions and wider communities) should, practically overnight, become demons, naysayers, and defamers.

Inner Ignoring of ?Warning Flags? Prior To Dissent From A Sect
2009-10-28 22:12:00 There is an ignoring, while one is still a member a questionable group, of what apostates, looking back on their process, have called 'warning flags'. The rationalising and psychological denial factors loom, but not so large as to cause deeper questioning and leave-taking. These are phenomena widely encountered in the reports of dissenters from sects. I have written of this aspect in an article, where I wrote: "Since leaving Sathya Sai Baba in October 1999, I have counted around 10 major ?flags? that I myself ignored. The realization of most of these resistances only occurred over time. Coming out of the spell?s grip is a painful, arduous process". See: A Cult?s Powerful Grip. Reputed Media and Other Agencies Decried By Sathya Sai Baba?s Defenders
2009-10-27 00:21:00 Those who defend Sathya Sai Baba and his global cult would tirelessly denigrate and defame all who seriously question him and his Sathya Sai Organization. Quite apart from former followers and other critics, their targets include leading journalists and broadcasters of repute who have investigated Sathya Sai Baba and his sect. This fact alone suggests the cultic mind at work. Being one of those centrally involved in approaches to Interpol, media, UNESCO, and other agencies in attempting to bring third party scrutiny to the Sathya Sai Baba and his core accomplices, I have repeatedly seen how demanding journalists and officials of these professional organizations are. Media include the BBC, DR, CBC, ABC, SBS, India Today, Times of London, Telegraph, the Guardian, the Age, Gatopado, West Australian, (Adelaide) Advertiser, and newspapers in Europe, Canada and and still others.
David Bailey and Thomas Wiehe. Transcript Of Phone Link: Sathya Sai Abuses
2009-10-24 23:44:00 This article contains the link to the mp3 format phone conversation in which David Bailey, an enormously important early exposer of India's leading guru Sathya Sai Baba, explains his and his wife Faye Bailey's stance. In 1999, the extensive document 'The Findings' by David and Faye Bailey appeared. This document caused enormous damage to the Sathya Sai Baba's credibility and that of his worldwide Sathya Sai Organization. Here was the case where persons previously very close indeed to Sathya Sai Baba spoke out, and in no uncertain terms. Faye had been a noted leader in the Australian Sathya Sai Organization well before the guru, much to the astonishment of them both, chose them to be husband and wife, and presided over their wedding. In their speaking out about the untold corruption they and others had uncovered, and the consequent great shock and sense of spiritual betrayal, the unique role in the organization of the Baileys stood in marked contrast to the situation in which...
Robert Priddy and Barry Pittard On Dr G. Venkataraman ? Sathya Sai Baba Glo
2009-10-17 23:16:00 The Sathya Sai Organisation's Deception and Propaganda Expose "The foes of the 'open society' (Sir Karl Popper's term) are those who use its very openness to achieve their closed and devious ends. Sai Baba and his highly authoritarian and cultist organisation have such ends, which critics have tried to make known. Its foremost leaders silence all those who question it- and never face substantive criticisms. For the first time - after six years of pained and guilty silence - since hundreds of long-term devotees left it in disgust - the Sathya Sai Organisation has found it necessary to try to defuse the debate about Sathya Sai Baba's alleged crimes, deceits and fraudulence. Dr. Venkataraman's tendentious cover-up article expresses untruths which have long circulated within the cult, giving an opportunity to confront him with facts and truth"
Lord Paul Swarj Under British Police Investigation
2009-10-12 23:45:00 I have written of the Sathya Sathya Sai Baba-implicated and high-profile British Labour Government Minister, Tony McNulty MP, and police investigations into allegations of rorting the British taxpayer. The very wealthy Lord Paul of Marylebone (See Wikipedia note below) is now under police investigation for the same reason. In probing Lord Paul, the British media might like, while investigating, to see whether Paul has been assisting the Sathya Sai Organization, as has been Tony McNulty. Both have long been powerfully influential in the British Labour Party.

Thorbjørn Meyer: Is Democracy Such A Good Idea?
2009-10-05 00:06:00 My regular readers will have noticed my use of - not uncommonly - phrases of the sort: Sathya Sai Baba and certain of his core leaders. Worthy leaders have their assistants or followers; oppressive ones have their henchmen. Thorbjørn Meyer, European Central Coordinator of the Sathya Sai Organization, is regarded by a number who know him well as being of the henchman variety. Meyer's lack of accountability is great. Abandoned are essential values of democratic accountability, as if they had never been heard of. This is of course true in regard to various other key Sathya Sai Baba leaders; however, Meyer is one of the foremost of the guru's leaders, and his accountability the greater. He is right at the hub of the cover up of Sathya Sai Baba, and of his monumental spiritual betrayal, and of the suppression of serious crimes that would, were India far more properly democratic, be investigated as a matter of course. Robert Priddy, when head of the Sathya Sai Organization, knew...
Concerning Attempts To Contact Former Sathya Baba Followers
2009-10-04 01:11:00 Concerning Attempts To Contact Former Sathya Baba Followers In the case of these approaches, carefully vetting is performed so as to screen off the proven attempts of Gerald Moreno and others to infiltrate or otherwise undermine former devotee work to bring about proper third party investigation of Sathya Sai Baba and core components of his international Sathya Sai Organization. It has been important for us to take advice from outstanding abuse professionals, lawyers, and so on. The temerity, and in some cases the naivity, of some requests to us for even the most sensitive information might stagger those who had not become used to it.
Sathya Sai Baba and Dr G.Venkataraman: Will They Disavow Their Idi Amin Fon
2009-10-01 23:09:00 Deputy head of the international Satahya Sai Organization and Head of Sai Global Radio G. Venkataraman?s ?Mr Idi Amin? Report (/Journals/Vol_05/01JAN07/11-pr-asanthi-diary) stands as an appalling affront to those who suffered at this monstrous dictator's hands. Note how Venkataraman, on Sai Global Radio, refers to Mr Idi Amin. I may add that it is interesting that Amin claimed to have a direct line to God. Did he have in mind, specifically, Sathya Sai Baba? Perhaps Amin scholars may have something among their files, and can let us all know. Here is what G. Venkataraman wrote:
Dr G. Venkataraman, Sathya Sai Baba?s Nuclear Boon Companion
2009-09-29 00:18:00 Robert Priddy is the former long-time head of the Sathya Sai Organization in Norway and a retired philosopher in the Social Sciences, University of Oslo. He has written insightfully on the extraordinary, often procrustean efforts of Sathya Sai Baba's head of Puttaparthi propaganda programs to rationalise his beliefs in Sathya Sai Baba. Though not a physical (actually, nuclear) scientist like Dr G. Venkataraman, he has an abiding interest in the sciences, and how a certain variety of scientists, in a great minority but with unfortunate influence far beyond their importance, falsely use science to buttress up their religious claims. The following information may be of particular value for journalistic and scholarly investigators, and also those institutions and agencies which the Sathya Sai cult in many countries attempts to influence - but without portraying their real agendas. For those who may like to hunt and peck among Priddy's writings on G. Venkataraman, I have excerpted fro...
Most Former Sathya Sai Devotees Respond Without Hatred
2009-09-26 01:40:00 Here is a quite typical note from a defender of Sathya Sai Baba, and the reply from one who is no long partial to him. The writer had written a number of emails to the recipient, who did not retaliate to any of the points. Some of the language of the other emails was couched more unkindly than anything in the following. The former devotee responded because of the basic decency and sincerity of the person who wrote:

Susan Boyle: ?Wild Horses? Won?t Hold Her Back
2009-09-15 02:00:00 Duty can have its own beauty, though it is far from an absolute form of it. There are, of course, more beautiful things in life than writing about Sathya Sai Baba and his movement. Though the thought of my own engagement in anything significantly-other courts disbelief among a prominent Internet detractor and gross defamer, my work on Sathya Sai Baba constitutes but a minor part of my frequently delightful and deeply fulfilling days. Working quickly, and having other life interests, is native to a number of former followers of Sathya Sai Baba who have stood forth to call for media and government investigation of Sathya Sai Baba and certain of his core leaders. Last April, deeply moved, as was so much of the rest of the world, by the singer Susan Boyle, I wrote of her in relation to having been the target of ageist discrimination not, in essence, unlike that shown by the Sathya Sai Baba proxy defender on the Internet in relation to Robert Priddy, Brian Steel and myself.
?BILD? Story. ?Guru Wants Sex? (Sathya Sai Baba)
2009-09-13 02:24:00 The article below, in which Jens Sethi recounts being sexually abused by Sathya Sai Baba, is from the magazine 'BILD' of Munich on 21st August, 2000. Wikipedia states that 'BILD' is "the best-selling newspaper in Europe and has the sixth-largest circulation worldwide". About a year earlier, NEXUS Magazine (Australia), August-September 1999, featured three articles on Sathya Sai Baba, containing serious allegations. One of these was the testimony of a German husband and wife, Jens and Gurprit Sethi who had been devotees, but had left him.The other articles were the testimony of Terry Gallagher, (who, on principle, had resigned as head of the Sathya Sai Organization in Australia) and Hans de Kraker, also Australia, who had likewise investigated allegations of Sathya Sai Baba's serial sexual abuse of boys and young men. Kraker was, for a number of years, head of the Western Canteen at Puttaparthi
?What about the miracles?? Response To One Drawn By Sathya Sai Baba
2009-09-06 03:53:00 Recently, a writer, who had witnessed inexplicable phenomena occurring at a Sai devotee venue, asked me: what about the (Sathya Sai Baba-related) miracles that are happening around the world? I responded in terms close to the following. I shall now include some relevant links: The question is fair. It is one that many who have left Sathya Sai Baba have pondered over. I have not seen any satisfactory explanation. Typically, there is a quality of manifestation that cannot be explained. In my view, these phenomena are far removed from phenomena of the Ouija board type, what to mention many another variety studied by parapsychologists. I think that neither devotee nor non-devotee explanations can do justice to phenomena about which, in the scientific, rational sense, we can say very little. There is that arresting statement in the philosopher Paul Wittgenstein's 'Tractatus': "Whereof we cannot speak, thereof we must be silent".
Donors and Would-be Donors Beware (Sathya Sai Central Trust Example)
2009-08-30 01:34:00 As the years pass, more evidence emerges of the very non-divine manner in which Sathya Sai Baba and his financial wing collect vast funds - particularly from wealthy donors. As with scams the world over, there are methods of 'spotting' - in this case, by ashram staff of visitors most likely to donate large sums. The admixture of 'miracles' - such as Sai Baba's 'materializing' of expensive rings or pendants etc., for the wealthy - is central to setting up of these traps. This operation involves the participation of the registration office, as well as Sathya Sai Baba's close servitors, many of them wealthy or those who have given away their wealth to him. Criminals and police forces often refer to this type of spotting as finding the 'mark' or victim to be set up. Donors and Would-be Donors Beware There are two classes of individual, and in some cases institutions, who have every reason to be looking at these issues. First, those who have already been donors to Sathya Sa...

2009-08-24 01:43:00 I refer to the independent British scholar Kevin R.D. Shepherd. His older website - http://citizeninitiative.com/ - cites academics of renown who have supported his work, such as the eminent British psychologist, Robert H.Thouless, (1894-1984)who wrote the best-selling "Straight and Crooked Thinking". Shepherd has just put online another website - www.kevinrdshepherd.info. It deals with topics on which he has written widely - philosophy, religion and psychology. Although Kevin Shepherd has never had affiliation with Sathya Sai Baba or his worldwide movement, nor friendship with former followers of Sathya Sai Baba, one section deals with Gerald 'Joe' Moreno, a highly aggressive, vituperative, defamatory pro Sathya Sai Baba defender, who works with assistance - they in the background - from prominents well as rank-and-file Sai Baba personnel in different parts of the world.
New Zealand Lawyer Exposes Official Cover Up of Killings In Sathya Sai Baba
2009-08-20 01:33:00 Long before worldwide allegations of Sathya Sai Baba?s serial sexual abuse of boys and young men began to surface in earnest ? circa AD 2000 ? notable individuals shocked by signs of cover up ? started to analyze situations, and leave the Sathya Sai Baba camp. For an example of early investigators, see the article by Warren C. Pyke LLN (Hons.) LLM (VUW), Barrister, New Zealand 3-3-1993: Sathya Sai Baba Murders Evidence (A New Zealand Barrister Analyses Police Evidence). Another earlier investigator of various serious allegations against Sathya Sai Baba was Terry Gallagher, an agricultural scientist and businessman who, in consequence of his findings, resigned as head of the Sathya Sai Organization in Australia. Sathya Sai Baba Man Gerald Moreno and Fact-Changing
2009-08-19 01:44:00 I direct my readers to an article just posted by Robert Priddy, retired academic of the University of Oslo and former head of the Sathya Sai Organization in Norway. He writes: ... "the pro-Sai extremist Joe Moreno claims that ?anti-Sai activists? withheld the transcript of the second part of a phone conversation which David Bailey had with Thomas Wiehe of Sweden. This is entirely untrue. Both parts of the phone conversation were transcribed from the start. Surely one of the worst cases of Internet libel is that of the Gerald 'Joe' Moreno. It is known that he cooperates with those around Sathya Sai Baba, both prominent and rank-and-file individuals. That Sai devotees would support one who so constantly uses language of a kind that Sai Baba's own discourses abundantly inveigh against more than suggests a desperation by many of his devotees to see their guru defended at any cost.
Sathya Sai Baba On Magnetism. Science or Sai-ence?
2009-08-12 02:39:00 Sathya Sai Baba is wildly at odds with some of the most basic scientific facts. His jumping between from physical to metaphysical notions, vague at best, are at grave odds with the physics being taught in his colleges and universities - and in any respectable classroom. In an early blog of mine in 2007 - A Great Deceiver ? Laughable But Still Dangerous - I wrote: "Sai Baba?s many scientist followers must have to block their ears or don magical-thinking hearing aids when he opines on matters scientific. Some of his pronouncements are comic, to be sure. But the smile disappears from one?s face when considering that Sai Baba?s devotees number many leaders in the top power echelons of politics, government, the sciences, the judiciary, diplomacy, industry, finance, the arts, medicine, and so on. He speaks, for example, of the nature of magnetism" ..... Since then, Sai Baba's critical commentator's have noted many past and current absurdities .....
Sathya Sai Baba?s Slurred Speech Due To Old Age. ?Eenadu? News Report
2009-08-02 12:26:00 That Sathya Sai Baba has made egregious historical and scientific blunders does not inspire confidence in his statements about pre-historical events. See my article: Huge Sai Baba Gaffes Various commentators have pointed to Sathya Sai Baba's 'turkey throat' and other signs of ageing in him, his episodes of falling over (one of which I have observed at quite close quarters along with many shocked observers at a Puttaparthi darshan), his uttering of inanities, his fits of crying, his walking round and round in circles, his blank stare and mask-like face, and so on. |
