He was on his way to another save tonight after getting the first two outs against the Astros before allowing four straight hits, the latter a three-run homer to Lance Berkman in a 9-6 loss. If you own Hoffman, worry. I think the Padres will give him a very long leash because of his great resume. He turns 41 in October and is bound to slow down. His money pitch is a changeup and with the velocity on his fastball down, it means the disparity between the two pitches isn't great. Make sure Heath Bell is owned. Again, this is why I say don't invest heavily in closers. J.J. Putz is another example and we're not even a full week into the season.

2008-01-03 23:24:00 Viggo Mortensen and Philip Seymour Hoffman to Star in Vanikoro Philip Seymour Hoffman (Charlie Wilson's War) and Viggo Mortensen (Eastern Promises) are allegedly in talks to star in a thriller called Vanikoro for director Xavier Gens (Hitman). Gens wrote the screenplay which depicts the final expedition of a real life French explorer named La Perouse, who was shipwrecked on Vanikoro in 1788. According to BloodyDisgusting, "the ship Boussole was destroyed on a reef along with most of the crew. The second ship Astrolabe was also wrecked, but survivors salvaged enough to build a small ship and sailed away. Two survivors remained on the island into the early 1800's."At this point, it's not clear which actor is up for what part, but we'll keep you informed as that develops.
