Holy Cow! The Brooklyn Bridge is 125
2008-05-24 07:25:00 It is not everyday I dedicate a post to a bridge, but not every bridge is the Brooklyn Bridge. The Brooklyn Brdige turns 125 today. A celebration is in order, Brooklyn Daily Eagle: BROOKLYN — In 1883, New Yorkers and Brooklynites took the first step toward uniting their two cities when the Brooklyn Bridge, then called the East River Bridge, opened to the public, bringing to life the dreams and plans of John and Washington Roebling. At the time, the bridge was for walkers, cable cars and horse-drawn vehicles, to be joined in time by an elevated line that some people still remember and, of course, by cars. Holy Cow
2008-05-19 22:35:00 Well I am back from Chicago...a little worse off then I left, but nonetheless back. Thursday I got up and ate breakfast before heading out to the airport, when someone started ringing my bell incessantly. I go down to open the door (since I don't think they realize that I don't have a working buzzer) and there stands some of NYPD's finest. They're looking for a man, whom they were told by some jackass that owns one of the shops under my apartment, lives in my apartment. What followed were repeatedly asking my last name, my roommate's name, and what apartment number I lived in, until I almost yelled at them that I've been there for over 2 years and no one by that name lives in my apartment. It was fucking annoying as hell. I'm pretty sure I know what it was in regards to -- there are some empty-being rennovated stores close to my apartment and the night before I had heard a large mob. It wasn't anything new since across the street is a bar and local jackass get drunk and get ...

2008-04-28 03:49:00 I am so glad I do not live in the San Antonio area. As I’m sitting here at work, I am trying to transfer someone to the local Time Warner office in San Antonio and just heard that the expected wait time is 1 hour 26 minutes - 2 hours. I’m going to wait on the line for a few minutes though, because I know that sometimes, that wait time is not the real wait time, especially when it is a transfer from my level of support. I tried to drop some entrecards from my desk here at work, but although I could load the entrecard website, half the sites wouldn’t load, as our proxy server blocks blogger.com websites. So I can’t drop entrecards right now. Bleh. I wish I could because I’ve been really bad about dropping my cards lately. My only problem is, besides not having access to the internet at home, I have 4 blogs at entrecard right now, and they recently started limiting how many cards you can drop from a particular IP address per day. So if you have more than...

Holy Cow! I want one!
2008-02-22 20:17:00 I was checking out some videos over at youtube when I stumbled upon invisibleSHIELD video. This product is amazing. Imagine stretching to 1000lbs and not breaking or tearing! According to their website, Invisible Shield, a thin polyurethane film, was originally created for the military to protect the leading edge of helicopter blades. Now it is made available for the public to protect their devices like PDAs, Laptop, Phones and anything that you fear will scratch. Check out their video here.. I'm sure you'll be as amaze as I was. I am seriously thinking of buying one for Miss Fly!Cheerio...
Holy Cow!!!! Cathy came up from one of today's dives very excited....
2008-02-13 04:53:00 We had a group on board today of mixed snorkelers and divers and hit a couple of spots where we can do both. When Cathy came up she was thrilled to see a fish she hadn't seen ever before in the time she's worked the dive boats in Kona (since '76, 32 years and seeing something new is still a thrill). Before she climbed back on board she asked if I happened to have my camera on board and if she could borrow it to take some photos.... yup. While she was down one of the snorkelers said they'd seen it under the boat and thought it was pretty cool, but didn't know it was anything out of the ordinary...Well here it is....After looking it up in Hoover, it turns out this is a rarely seen color morph of the Spotted Puffer (Arothron meleagris). Man, I hope it's still around when I'm back in the water in a week or two. Photo by Cathy. Later, Steve

So I Quit My Day Job - Holy Cow! I Took the Plunge
2008-01-19 15:22:00 From ZH:How I Did ItI thought you might be interested in hearing about my path to make this dream become realized. Now, this should be obvious, but I’ll stress it here: this is what worked for me. It won’t necessarily work for any other human being on this planet. Holy Cow! Rep. Brandon Spencer (D) Prestonsburg Resigns
2007-12-19 05:12:00 Now it appears outgoing Attorney General Greg Stumbo (D) may run for his old House seat. Damn strange mountain politics. Spencer may have been offered a state job and had hinted that he would step aside for Stumbo. It is also rumored that Rep. Rocky Adkins (D) may be getting his own gig with a new energy dept. If Rocky Adkins resigns this would leave the Majority Leader position open, guess who would get that position. Stumbo 100%. I say Stumbo will be House Speaker for the 2009 off year session. Anyone want to bet on it? Mark Hebert has the story. House Speaker Jody Richards has confirmed that 95th district Rep. Brandon Spencer (D) Prestonsburg, has resigned from his House seat which just happens to be Stumbo's old house district. Richards says Spencer sent a resignation letter to Governor Beshear this afternoon and a copy was forwarded to the Speaker's office. Beshear will now set a date for a special election with democrats and republicans in Floyd County deciding who thei...

The Scoop on Holy Cow Wholesale
2007-11-11 14:25:00 Holy Cow...you've hit the hottest wholesale and dropship resource center available...no cow or bull s**t! We know our stuff, and we we want you to know yours too. We've already been where you may be now...at the beginning, and a little frustrated, to say the least. Researching wholesale and dropship sources, only to find the same old lists and sites that have been available since the cow's came home! Buying every available thing we could get our hands on, only to be disappointed every time. Downloading ebooks, answering classifieds, buying eBay info packages....Wow...we never imagined such scams and rip-offs could exist! What the heck! What is so hard about this?? All we want is: an accurate, up to date, extensive list of authentic, actual wholesale and dropship sources, so that we can turn around and sell hot products for a profit. Plain and simple. Well, we won't go into the boring details of how we finally discovered exactly what we were looking for, and more...all that m...

Holy Cow! OS X Leopard Sells 2 Million Copies!
2007-10-30 19:07:00 Apple has announced that they have sold 2 million copies of OS X Leopard in just the first weekend! This is a monumental feat, and when you think about it, the iPhone, the must-have gadget of RIGHT NOW, sold a million units in nearly 2.5 months! Sure, the $129 price, or $9.95 if your Mac was bought after October 1, 2007, is much lower than an iPhone at $399, but this is still amazing, and outsells OS X 10.4 Tiger from nearly 3 years ago.I am hoping to do a review of Leopard very soon. Until then, all you folks who have bought and installed the new OS X, please chime in on how it's going! Check out my other blog on Leopard.

Holy Cow! Fred Thompson Is Now Speaking My Language!

$47 Million... Holy Cow!
2007-10-19 20:12:00 Ivana Trump couldn't do it. Perhaps Steven Johnson can. Who is Steven Johnson, you may ask? He's an Arizona businessman who just paid $47 million dollars for the former Holy Cow Casino Cafe and Brewery site, on which Ivana once had plans of developing a Las Vegas high rise condo hotel tower. Now here's the kicker: after spending all that money, he's not sure what he's going to do with it!"I haven't finalized my plans yet," Johnson said by phone. "I thought it was a good piece of property. At the moment there's really not much to say."Johnson's been buying and selling plots in Las Vegas for over 20 years now, many of which were sites later turned into Walgreens drug stores. But that's the difference between Steven Johnson and me - I have a plan when I spend 47 DOLLARS! When the Elad Group bought the Frontier from Phil Ruffin for $35 million per acre a few months ago, that was considered the high-water mark for real estate on the Strip. But Johnson's purchase "Trumps" that a...

2007-09-15 04:29:00 It seems as though the MoveOnDotDingleDorfCrowd has stepped in it this time and is crying, "FOUL!!" The only thing "foul" about it is that which "they" stepped in.Too bad and so sad to be them.It also seems as though Rudy has been trouncing the Trolls as well, the chief Troll being Czarina.Good for you, Sir!!Yep. MoveOn has effectively sunk the DNC while trying to sink the GOP. They really should work on their targeting systems. Perhaps the lawyers for MoveOn and the NYT should verse themselves with the FEC, page 14?Just a thought.BIG HT to Wake Up America:Quoting Hillary Clinton at the top of that ad was a stroke of genius on Rudy's part and will probably further the lead he has just taken in the latest poll over Hillary Clinton:Rudy Giuliani Preferred President Over Hillary Clinton If Terrorists Attack AmericaNEW YORK ? Holy Cow!Thousands of wholesale products...what should I sell?
2007-09-02 19:45:00 Got your finger on it? The pulse, that is. Don’t expect to get ahead in the online sales game unless you know not only what’s selling well today but also what’s going to hit the big time tomorrow. Stay one step ahead of the competition by spotting new trends. For example, some drop shippers are now offering personalization of products – name engraving and branding off off-the-shelf items – and you could be among the first to offer this as a retail service. (All the personalization is done by the wholesaler). So, how do you stay in front? Finding Holy Cow Wholesale is a good starting point but there’s a whole cattle-pasture full of sites, books and other publications that will keep you in the picture and make sure you don’t step in the you-know-what. Some, like WhatDoISell.com or the eBay research specialists Terapeak.com, will keep you informed – for the price of a monthly subscription – or for a free instant snapshot of what’s currently red hot try...

Church of the Holy Cow
2007-08-20 15:15:00 The artist Steve Emery, who blogs over at Color Sweet Tooth, put up a thoughtful post some months ago about taking some time away from the noise, conflict and complications of the church in order to reconnect with God. Commenting on the impending Episcopal schism, he wrote in March: Why do we leave a church? Because we no longer consider the worship of the others to be true? Because we fear our own faith or the faith of our children may be damaged by hearing what we consider to be wrong ideas? Because we no longer believe the Spirit moves in the presider, and the Eucharist is thus somehow invalidated? For now I find these questions beyond me, and not mine to answer. This may change. In my case I did not leave a church in particular, though it was events in a particular church that precipitated my departure. I left organized church in general. I needed to leave, like a man who needs to clear his head at a concert or a party by going outside and breathing some cold fresh air. I was seei...

2007-05-25 03:07:00 It seems that proper preparation for tomorrow?s big Carnival of the Mundane (which I?m hosting by the way, just in case I forgot to mention that Monday or perhaps Tuesday or maybe even today) has made it very difficult for me to prepare a full post for tonight. Well, that and the fact that I fell off the hood of my truck while trying to replicate the Bo Duke 'Dukes of Hazzard' hood slide for a coworker. Apparently dress pants and an unwashed hood don?t make for good sliding, just plenty of friction?and a dry cleaning bill. It?s too bad that I can?t devote the time to share what I was planning on writing about today. Well, I can share a little bit of it. It involved a Philly Cheese Steak, a map I had made for work that cost me $60 bucks (despite the fact that it had 14 errors), my coworker that got hit by a car while he was riding his bike the other day and his tour for us of the crash site during lunch, the theme song to The Fall Guy, Female Coworker?s two-tone hairdo and what ...
"Holy Cow Batman" Bush Don't Think Troops Need Bigger Pay Raises
2007-05-18 03:58:00 Troops don?t need bigger pay raises, Bush budget officials said the administration "strongly opposes" both the 3.5 percent raise for 2008 and the follow-on increases, calling extra pay increases "unnecessary."It was so necessary to get the billions to waste in Iraq, but not necessary to raise the pay for the troops. The Bush administration had asked for a 3 percent military raise for Jan. 1, 2008, enough to match last year?s average pay increase in the private sector. The House Armed Services Committee recommends a 3.5 percent pay increase for 2008, and increases in 2009 through 2012 that also are 0.5 percentage point greater than private-sector pay raises. The slightly bigger military raises are intended to reduce the gap between military and civilian pay that stands at about 3.9 percent today. Under the bill, HR 1585, the pay gap would be reduced to 1.4 percent after the Jan. 1, 2012, pay increase.Bush budget officials said the administration ?strongly opposes? both the 3.5 percent ...
