Goodbye Super Casino................hopefully!
2007-07-13 21:55:00
Well Gordon Brown must actually be applauded this week. He has apparently, to all intents and purposes, scrapped the idea of the Super Casino to be built in Manchester. He suggested that maybe the money would be better spent on regeneration, duh do you think!Well praise God for some sense. What person can consider placing a Casino in the heart of a run down area as a good idea. A Casino is where people go and waste their money duped into thinking they can win big. It can start an addictive cycle that destroys careers, families and lives. Gambling is dangerous on so many levels. Being highly addictive one of them. Place it in a poor area and you will have people blowing money they don't have on an unattainable dream. We are already a nation of gamblers with the National Lottery. Thank goodness Gordon Browns moral sense, and I believe he has one, has shone through here. Lets us hope more of his policies are shaped by his Christian faith that he claims to have.I doubt I'll vote for h...
The future of US Soccer is here (hopefully)
2007-07-12 08:32:00
The U-20 Soccer World Cup is taking place as we speak in Canada. The US team has looked very impressive thus far, and after a Round 16 win today over Uruguay, they now advance to the quarterfinals vs. Austria on July 14. After winning their group with wins over Poland and top dog Brazil, and a saddening tie vs. Poland, the US team is making a serious World Cup title run. I wouldn't consider myself a huge soccer fan, but when it comes to USA Soccer and World Cups, I love watching soccer. After the big time national team won the Gold Cup and the U-20 team looking pretty impressive at the U-20 World Cup, I am very excited about the future of US Soccer. With young stars in Freddy Adu, Josmer Altidore, and Michael Bradley, US Soccer has a bright future. Granted Adu has struggled in the Pros, I do really feel this is Adu's coming out party. From here on out, especially when it comes to national competition, he's going to be a big star. The funny thing about it is that Adu may not even b...

Thankfully the all the various websites have finally finished with the Henry transfer saga and are now turning to more meaningful comments about our club! Henry is now a Barcelona player and the only current connection he has with Arsenal is the box that he has retained at the Emirates stadium. There were so many comments about Barcelona transfers l-ast ...

The ABC reports that a  Washington DC administrative court judge sued his local dry cleaner for $64 million dollars because - wait for it - they lost a pair of his pants. There was nothing special about these pants, but as the ABC report (and TV news item) reveal he expects the family of Korean ...

It was getting a little scary for a while, but I think Gabrielle is going to pull through this illness without a trip to the hospital. The doctor seems to think she has a sinus infection and the stomach flu. My poor baby girl. I feel so bad for her. She's not "herself" yet, but hopefully she will be back to normal soon.
Hopefully non-lethal prison pen.
2007-05-12 21:27:00
Prisoners, at least in the US, seems to have a tendency of killing each other off for different reasons. The power of imagination when it comes to designing improvised weapons seems to have no limits, which has led prison authorities and designers to try to create everyday objects and tools that can not be transformed into weapons. One example is the no-shank toothbrush we have mentioned earlier, and here is another; the bending pen. The pen is supposed to be impossible to make into a weapon, and it is USD 10:- on the Spycatcher webshop.
Hopefully it stops here...

Remember this jaw dropping what on earth were you thinking look?!! I'll take that as a yes. I always seem to wonder why she decided to go for this look... I'll tell you. I bet in a very posh accent she was like "I can't be bothered wearing trousers today, I know I'll wear my tights over my (Bridget Jones style) knickers". And I am sure her friends were like "only you can get away with that Sienna, you look so good" err no... she doesn't. She probably also thought "I'm so going to start a trend" well may be her trend has started to catch up as seen in Calvin Harris new single - The girls. Hopefully the trend stops there, I quite like Calvin Harris and apparently he gets all the girls (right!!). Picture from People Magazine
Crown Heights To Be Landmarked Today (Hopefully)
2007-04-24 10:04:00
As we get ready to post this, the powers-that-be at the Landmarks Preservation Commission are most likely in the process of approving the creation of the Crown Heights North Historic District, the 79th such area to date. The first phase of the landmarking, which is centered around Dean Street between Bedford and Kingston Avenues, will ...
Islanders' Sean Hill, hopefully, first and last player to get nabbed for ch
2007-04-21 00:18:00
This isn't baseball, it's hockey.Islanders defenceman Sean Hill has been suspended 20 games by the NHL for "violating" the league's substance-abuse policy, blah, blah, he was suspended for taking 'roids!By God, it was about time someone got caught, too bad it had to be a formely respectable player in Hill.I can imagine why he did it though, old age, no one's gotten caught, his body's breaking down, but still.I hope, that for the NHL's reputation (which is already shaky), that this is the first and last time someone gets caught, although, I doubt it.Dick Pound must be feeling really good about himself just around now...
A Look At Tonight's Starters (Hopefully)
2007-04-17 15:57:00
Hopefully the Mets and Phillies can fit in a game tonight. So, if our prayers are answerd and they do play tonight, here's the pitching matchup:Tom Glavine (2-1, 3.12)Glavine was about as good as he could be in frigid New York temperatures on Thursday, giving up three runs in a six-inning performance against Philadelphia. He recovered from a rocky start to record career win No. 292, despite walking three in the first inning and serving up two home runs to Phillies leadoff man Jimmy Rollins.Freddy Garcia (0-0, 0.00)Garcia makes his long-awaited Phillies debut. The right-hander had a delayed start to his regular season because of soreness in his right biceps. In his only career start against the Mets, Garcia allowed one run on six hits in a complete-game victory, striking out seven.

(Splash) Evil Bahamian genius/prescription drug provider/baby imprisoner Howard K. Stern is in talks with a highly regarded legal eagle to apparently start firing libel suits at the media. It would be SO hot if we got hit with one. I'd be flattered. I'm sure my publisher wouldn't be jazzed. But it would get our name in the papers, and it would mean I don't have to go through with my original idea for a stunt to increase page views. Which involved me lighting myself on fire outside of Winston's in L.A., screaming "A Socialite's Life - This Ain't CNN, Bitches!" and letting the Olsen twins warm their old bones beside me. Lin Wood, the high-powered lawyer with a specialty in defamation cases, has issued a statement confirming the TMZ report that he is, in fact, in discussions with Howard K. Stern: Mr. Wood has received numerous inquiries seeking to confirm media reports that he is in discussions with Howard K. Stern concerning possible legal representation of Mr. Stern, both i...
Heather Mills: ?Hopefully My Leg Will Stay On?
2007-03-06 06:32:02
One-legged Beatle robber Heather Mills has this to say about her upcoming Dancing With The Stars performance: “I’m quite happy to be thrown around, and hopefully my leg will stay on. It’s very unlikely my leg is going to fly off, although it would be quite funny. I’ll have a strap on which I wouldn’t normally in every day life.” But every night with Paul she always had a strap-on right? Ohhhhhhhh….
?Shooter? Producer Jumping Onto G.I. Joe Next, Hopefully With Wahlberg
2007-03-05 16:13:02
Filed under: Action & Adventure, Sci-Fi & Fantasy, Casting, RumorMonger, Fandom, Comic/Superhero/GeekIs Mark Wahlberg a real American hero? Producer Lorenzo di Bonaventura apparently thinks so. IESB is reporting tonight that at the press junket for the Wahlberg vehicle Shooter, di Bonaventura said that as soon as his other project, Michael Bay's Transformers, wraps, he will "immediately" jump onto a G.I. Joe film, hopefully with Wahlberg on board as Conrad "Duke" Hauser. IESB also reports that the film will be set before the rise of COBRA, and focuses on how the future COBRA Commander started his terrorist group. COBRA villains Destro and Stormshadow will also apparently be featured in the film, while Hawk and Snake Eyes are slated to stand in for the good guys.Wahlberg recently wrapped shooting on the crime drama We Own the Night, co-starring Joaquin Phoenix and Eva Mendes. He also has his name attached to a couple of other forthcoming projects, including a sequel to The I...
Are you out of your mind? Hopefully, yes
2007-03-05 05:15:00
One’s mindset is an interesting thing. When you’re single, it’s predominantly about you. You do what you want when you want to do it. When you get married, it’s not so much about you. It’s about her (or him), too. There are other considerations. So, you adapt. Then, you have kids. And, you adapt again. It’s predominantly about the kids, some about your spouse, and relatively little about you. Your mindset about what’s important and what needs to be done and how you do it changes. Whenever one changes his/her environment, whether it’s a relationship, a home, a job, etc., your mindset changes and you get perspective. One’s mindset changes either by force — such as a life-changing event like becoming a parent — or by being open to change. Our industry — professional communicators, no matter what service we offer — has been expanding in recent years. The socialization of marketing has started. For the most p...
Prodi hopefully won't last in office much longer
2007-03-03 23:06:00
It looks like my discovery that Romano Prodi's time as Italy's prime minister was done was a little premature. He's managed to win a confidence vote for now, but with the way he lucked out recently, chances are that he still may not be able to survive much longer.Former prime minister Silvio Berlusconi, the media tycoon who narrowly lost last year's election, has forecast Prodi will not last long in power. A poll this week showed 40 per cent of Italians agreed, predicting his government would last just a few more months.I think that's right, and there'll be quite a few issues that his coalition won't agree with him upon. So, it's possible that pretty soon, he'll be out of office altogether.
Hopefully a service..

that you will never need! Occasionally things come out of the blue that you never expected to happen.  And very rarely, these things can be pretty bad - and you might even need a lawyer to help sort things out, especially if it is a business related matter.  simmons jannace & stagg are a firm of attourneys who are able to approach each case with a fresh perspective and to look for opportunities to resolve conflicts in a cost-efficient and effective way. They put their clients interests first, and really listen to what you are saying and what you need, seeking resolutions in non-traditional ways.  Along with the litigating, they also offer other services such as loan documents, and will help businesses work out the best structure to server them now, and into the future.
So This?ll be My Logo (Hopefully)
2006-09-26 12:24:02
I still like the dragon, but it really doesn't have anything related to my blog. So I decided to replace it, again. Before settling with the sample one, I went through a couple of other designs. I didn't try to make it impressive, but still wanted it to look nice and different from others. However, all the initial drafts didn't appear to have a goog visual effect at small size. The images were all blurred and nobody, not even me, can tell what they are or what they represent from the address bar.   I am not good at design and coming up with anything fancy will be a huge challenge. If that is something that I can't do, at least I can be simple and that's what I decided to do: be simple. Well, the final version indeed looks simple. Actually, it's so simple that I can even tell what it is from the address bar! Add to: Del.icio.us |  Digg |  Furl |  MyTuts |  ReddIt |  Technorati |  MyYahoo |  Tags: weblog, logo
