2007-12-21 03:01:00 2 1/2 quarts chicken stock1 block (16 oz.) of tofu, cut into 1 1/2 inch long strips5 shitake mushrooms, cut into thin slices1/2 cup soy sauce1/2 tsp. white pepper1/2 cup white vinegar1 1/2 cups bamboo shoot strips2 tablespoons cornstarch dissolved in 4 tablespoons water3 eggs. beaten1/2 tsp. sesame oilCombine first seven ingredients in a pot and bring to a boil. Drizzle the cornstarch mixture into the soup, stirring to thicken. Then drizzle beaten eggs into soup, stirring. Top with sesame oil.

I left that company after a short stint and when I returned to the hawker center, the stall selling this noodle was nowhere to be found.To curb my cravings for the soup, I used instant Hot and Sour Soup mix, till I got married and started cooking.
