Netflix Review In A Minute: Hot Fuzz
2008-04-07 01:42:00 Eh. I didn't really care for this film. I LOVED Shaun of the Dead...but this movie just didn't pull me in. I guess I just had really high expectations for this film and it's hard to meet that bar. I actually considered turning off the film half way through it. The film finally got interesting at the hour and a half mark. Up until that point, it was almost pain-stakingly annoying. All these murders would pop up and the town's peoples' reactions were just ridiculous. I mean, you found out why they reacted the way they did...but I guess it was just the actors or how it was portrayed...I wanted to rip my hair out. It was far less funny or imaginative than Shaun of the Dead....I don't know. I just don't have much to say about this. It sucked.I would pass on this film unless you're stalking Jim Broadbent and you need to see every film he's ever been in.

2007-09-11 10:44:00 No sophomore slump here from Simon Pegg, Nick Frost and director Edgar Wright after the mega success of Shaun of the Dead. The set up is classic, big time cop gets relocated to sleepy small time village and uncovers more deadly goings on than a year in London. Contains some great cameos including a wonderful performance by Timothy Dalton as the seemingly evil supermarket boss. Has some wonderful laughs, but is perhaps a bit too long at the end and is perhaps a little too dark for its own good in places. Still worth a watch. This is a JM RECOMMENDS.

Eso no quitará que vaya al cine cuando la estrenen, porque me ha gustado bastante.El caso es que "Hot Fuzz" es a las buddy movies lo que en su día fue "Zombies party" para las pelis de zombies, un gran divertimento que no solo parodia, sino que lo hace con cierta admiración. No solo se toman prestados planos o algún gag, sino que forman parte del mismo argumento de la película. Sobre todo hay dos filmes protagonistas: Le llaman Bodhi (Point Break) y Bad Boys 2. It stars our favorite pair of actors Simon Pegg and Nick Frost from Shaun of the Dead - one of our all time favorite flicks. We're still trying to get our hands on Spaced which is a television series they did together from 1999 to 2001. So far, it's not been an easy thing to find. If anyone happens to spot a copy, please let me know. I'll let you all know how we like Hot Fuzz. I'm fairly certain we won't be disappointed.

But don't blame me if you then feel the urge to rent "Bad Boys 2." I'm not taking responsibility for that, no way.Other things I'm recommending today include Tea Tree Oil for toenail fungus. I decided that I needed my liver for more important things than processing medication to rid my big toenails of a mild fungal infection, so I started using the tea tree oil in February, and it's working great. I get home and low and behold the trailer for Hot Fuzz is available on-line, and my RAM came in the mail! Today must be my lucky day. If only I could fix this sore throat. One thing I love about the guys who have work on Shaun of the Dead and Spaced, which includes director Edgar Wright and comedic geniuses Simon Pegg and Nick Frost, is that they are able to make films that are self aware yet completely able to stand on their own. Shaun of the Dead for example only seems to get better viewing after viewing(and is now an inductee into my yearly horror movie marathon). Hot Fuzz looks to change little of that great formula and I’m not complaining. The cameos in the trailer alone leaves me excited to see it in theaters March 9th. So far we’ve got Bill Nighy, Stephen Merchant of The Office fame, and 007 himself Timothy Dalton. Not to mention this trailer features ...
