Andrew Breitbart To Launch Big Hollywood Website To Counter Huffington Post
2008-08-07 05:11:00
Thanks to Pat Dollard. The controversy continued this week, as Drudge Report contributor and news site owner Andrew Breitbart inked his own Washington Times opinion piece about the brouhaha. Breitbart is also getting into the ?poliwood? game with plans to launch a new group blog called BigHollywood, as part of his Breitbart.com news service, to appeal to the opposite end of the spectrum from Wells? musings.?The site will offer a daily repository for those interested and involved in the perspective of a growing community of Hollywood conservatives, Republicans and libertarians,? Breitbart told me via instant message over the weekend, calling his upcoming project ?a safe haven for those out of the lefty mainstream.?SOURCEJossip has more.
TN Dems Blame Reps & Fox network over Obama perceptions
2008-06-17 12:46:00
Dawn Teo:Fred Hobbs set off a flurry of sound-bites and interest when he was asked why Representative Lincoln Davis was delaying his endorsement of Senator Barack Obama as the party's nominee for President. Clearly part of the problem is that they just plain haven't gotten to know Senator Obama in Tennessee yet, but the fact is, they handed the extremists among their opponents something to run with in a week when most of the truly bad coverage was about McCain (unless you count the backlash against Megyn and Malkin and the "baby mama" debacle, but they aren't running for office.) Going into the weekend the commentators on the right were anxious for any story to chase the Supreme Court Gitmo decision -- and the crisis of faith it represented -- off the headlines, and Hobbs played Lincoln Davis right into their hands. The Tennessee Democratic Party issued a statement on Friday that the Tennessee Democratic Party is united behind Obama. On Monday, they published the statement on the...

McCain Takes Flip-Flopping and Pandering to New Level
2008-05-30 05:14:00
John McCain lost his ?maverick? status within the Republican senate a long time ago but on Thursday he removed all doubt. John McCain had been a strong advocate for reducing carbon emissions and has said he would make it an important part of his administration. Senator John Warner (R-Virginia) and Senator Joseph Lieberman (I-Connecticut) have sent a bill to the senate that would mandate reductions in greenhouse gas emissions. John McCain initially supported the legislation but is now saying that he opposes the bill and will not be there to vote on it. According to the Huffington Post, only three weeks ago John McCain said about the bill ?I hope it will pass.? John McCain was voted the most absent member of the senate in 2008 and this pattern continues with him missing a critical vote on global warming. When McCain did bother to show up and vote he voted with Bush 100 percent of the time in 2008. McCain?s would be vote on this bill is no different. Bush a...

McCain Takes 3 Months and a Hitler Reference to Reject Hagee Endorsement
2008-05-23 07:28:00
Photo by Flickr 3 months and a Hitler comment later, John McCain has finally rejected the endorsement of Pastor John Hagee. On Thursday, McCain rejected the endorsements of two influential pastors, John Hagee and Rod Parsley for offensive comments that they have made. McCain accepted the endorsement of Hagee in late February, nearly four months ago, and received slight pressure from the press about the endorsement. Hagee?s and McCain never received major attention by the press in the way that Obama and Jeremiah Wright did. Over the past week McCain was no longer able to brush the issue aside when comments Hagee made about Hitler surfaced. The Huffington Post published audio of Hagee saying that Hitler hastened God?s will to bring the Jewish people to the promise land in Israel. Hagee had previously sparked controversy for McCain in which he said that the Catholic church was ?the great whore? and that New Orleans was suffering God?s wrath for their wicke...
Another lie from the Huffington Post on McCain and Hamas
2008-05-17 06:38:00
Wow, what kind of man clips out the last seconds of a McCain quote to twist his true meaning? Howard Dean's DNC did it with McCain's "100 years in Iraq quote" and now Jamie Rubin does it with a McCain interview. Does the Huffington Post apologize for promoting this lie? No, it doubles down and finds some other, probably out-of-context quotes to "keep lies alive." This is getting sad and I don't find the lies interesting. I just put them up so that you guys can be aware in case one of the lied-to works with you or something. All: Today, Jamie Rubin made a charge against John McCain. Every one of your news organizations put him on the air and covered his charges that John McCain flip-flopped on engagement with Hamas. Now we know that Jamie Rubin didn’t tell the truth. As the entire video — just posted on SkyNews — clearly shows, John McCain absolutely did not advocate unconditional engagement with Hamas. Indeed, Rubin conveniently cut off his follow-up qu...

Obama Picks Experienced Strategists, Clinton Picks Loyalists
2008-05-09 06:33:00
Today we learned another important piece to the Mark Penn saga. According to the Huffington Post, Penn believed the Democratic race to be winner take all states just as it is for the Republican Party. Mark Penn was the chief strategist for Senator Clinton in the early stages of the game. Penn was ?confident? in saying that winning California would tip the race to Clinton once she captured the state?s entire 370 delegates. The major flaw to that strategy is the fact that the delegates are apportioned based on percentage of the vote each candidate got in that state. Harold Ickes was appalled at the sheer ignorance of someone in charge of such an important task. The reason Penn had such an important job on the campaign was not because he knew what he was doing, it was because of loyalty. Loyalty is something that Senator Clinton values as part of her team rather than hiring the best possible person for the job. ?How can it possibly be, that the much vaunted ch...

Obama Talks VP Criteria

What others see as his weaknesses, Obama feels are his greatest strengths. ?I would like somebody who knows about a bunch of stuff that I'm not an expert on,? Obama said. Most critics would see Obama?s weaknesses being security issues and foreign policy. ?I think a lot of people assume that might be some sort of military thing to make me look more Commander-in-Chief-like. Ironically, this is an area--foreign policy is the area where I am probably most confident that I know more and understand the world better than Senator Clinton or Senator McCain,? Obama said. Obama explained that when Clinton talks about visiting 80 countries you do not see the important parts of the country. Obama talked about how he has taken those same trips and that he did not learn what you need to about those countries. ?You do that in eight...

50 Superdelegates Set to Endorse Obama

According to the Huffington Post, the co-chair of Obama?s campaign in Missouri has said that Obama will be going public with the support of 50 new superdelegates. Tom Brokaw made a television appearance on Wednesday morning in which he said someone "very close to the Obama campaign" said they had 50 superdelegates ready to announce. Brokaw said that they were ready to go public with those numbers in the near future. According to RealClearPolitics.com, Obama has 1366 pledged delegates and Clinton has 1222. Clinton has 242 superdelegates and Obama has 207 superdelegates at the moment. 50 additional superdelegates would give Obama the lead among superdelegates along with his pledged delegate lead. Bill O'Reilly : Compares a Huffington Post comment with Goebbel's propagand

Bill O'Reilly is always reliably himself. Always reliably smug, flash, complacent, accusing, cynical, smirking - depending on what piece of raw meat has been tossed into his cage on a given day.He creates the impression that he's nailing it all down when he talks, even though he may be using a sledgehammer to crack a walnut. He's fly when it comes to playing on popular fears and prejudices - knows what buttons to push to generate a reaction. None of this though has anything to do with being fair and balanced, it has to do with O'Reilly, his agenda and his ego. Calling his line of commentary "fair and balanced" is a joke.O'Reilly's approach to any given subject depends on the degree of prejudice it whips up in him. He thinks nothing of using the Nazi or KKK reference to smear opponents. Stretching a far-fetched comparison to the max isn't a problem for O'Reilly. It doesn't matter how idiotic the comparison is so long as it produces the required sensation value. The other day ...

Why is the liberal Huffington Post making such a big deal over Mitt Romney's Christmas card? Is it because of the Bible verse that Huff Post trumpets as "breaking political news?"Arianna Huffington has tainted spawn by a gay former California congressman. Miz Arianna is not into "family values."

What Would Jesus Do?

About dumb as a brick ABC "The View's" Sherri Shepherd. The bonehead raised eyebrows in September when she insisted the Earth was flat. Later she claimed she really knew the Earth is round but she was flustered. Get yourself out of this one, Sherri. Miz Sherri blurted on the air yesterday that Jesus and Christianity were around before the Greeks. Watch the Huff Post vid here. Jesus would roll the stone himself in front of your tomb.

Democrat Senate staffer busted for trying to have sex with a boy. The Smoking Gun The liberal Huffington Post refers to the guy as a "former Senate aide." Nice try. He wasn't former when he was arrested. Apparently the 28-year-old perv had a thing for nubile boys with no pubic hair. Is the Tank a milblogging disgrace? Huffington Post?
2007-12-02 20:59:00
The Huffington Post's Thomas Edsall blogged that National Review Online (NRO) blogger, W. Thomas Smith Jr. (Tank), may have been inaccurate in his reporting from Lebanon. Smith defended himself here, but the "just blogging" excuse didn't fly with either uberblogger Michelle Malkin or NRO itself. Two points: 1. He shamed himself and doesn't deserve to continue, if, by his own admission, he "fudged" the facts. 2. The Huffington Post should be embarrassed to condemn Smith while ignoring or defending the much more egregious anti-troop slander, Shock Troops, by newlywed Scott Thomas Beauchamp in the allegedly respected liberal journal, The New Republic. If a reporter is just going to play "gotcha" with journalistic scandals (You criticized my side, but what about you?"), then he should lose integrity. 3. The New Republic, who still hasn't apologized for the Beauchamp lie (and even defends it), can learn a lot from NRO.
