2008-06-04 17:55:00 Looking at the calendar, it looks like my weeks of 4 or 3 day work weeks is over for quite some time. It was nice while it lasted. I will admit it'll save me some of my electricity bill with me being at work more than I am at home cooling in the air conditioning.This past weekend was alright. Friday night I went out and had a couple drinks around Hells Kitchen...which is also what I did on Saturday night. During the day on Saturday, I got up and caught the 1pm showing of Sex and the City The Movie (I highly suggest all fans see this film). I saw it in Queens which was good seeing as how I got to avoid most of the tourists and Scary Sadshaw wannabes. The theater was pretty empty. Afterwards I went shopping around 59th and Lex and got my new favorite pair of shoes at Diesel. They're rather odd looking boot-esque shoes...and I love them. Ugh. Like the new exposure to so much sun is frying my fragile little mind.Let's see...Friday, I was exhausted/getting over my head cold/sinus thing so I stayed in. I had dinner and then crawled into bed at 8:30. Watched a couple episodes of The Office and I fell asleep around 10:30. What a rocking Friday.Saturday was gorgeous, so I had to get out of the house. I put on some shorts and my cute new shoes and walked all over the city. I was hoping to put a dent in my bank account with some new clothes, but nothing struck my fancy. And stupid me, I didn't wear socks with my new shoes and because I was walking so much, it literally gnarled my feet to the bone. It's still healing. So unfortunately for you I don't really have much to dirt to dish. I will say this, however, I flew in to JFK and I will never be making that mistake again. It's in the middle of no where and it takes forever to get back to Astoria. I didn't have much of an option though seeing as how the only flights in to LaGuardia were too early in the morning or too late at night.Work is kind of winding down on the stress level, but hopefully something interesting will pick back up soon. It was a crappy day (weather wise) and I had been pulling late nights at work all week...so what I wanted to do, was just go home, put on the tube, have some drinks, and relax. And that's what I did. Things are going well. Busy with work as usual, but it's a good busy. I found two good links that dig deeper into rising food costs and rising fuel costs. In general it seems like there have been a whole series of failed policies and broad economic mistakes that have all built up to give us a perfect storm for rampant inflation. I watched an awful movie last night (see previous post) and tonight I believe I'm going to watch Pan's Labyrinth. I want to see the movie...but you know when a movie gets talked about so much and how good it is and how you sooo have to see it, and then the idea of watching it becomes daunting? That's how I feel about Pan's...but I will try. A new episode of World's Dumbest Criminals is airing tomorrow night at 9pm on truTV and you should alllll watch it. I'd really appreciate it. 2008-03-12 18:29:00 Thank GOD! Another Wednesday is upon us. This week seems to be crawling. Um today is also a great day, because it is also the free seminar at the Kabbalah Center, from 7pm to 9pm...so I'll be skipping out of work a tad early to rush up there. The Center isn't in the most accessible area of Manhattan. Other than that, I've got a show premiering on truTV tomorrow night at 9pm (which I'll remind you about again tomorrow).It's been kind of rough with this whole seasonal depression crap. I looked it up on wikipedia to see if there are things I can do about it and all they suggest was sitting infront of specific lights for 30 minutes a day..blah blah. I understand it's a deficiency of vitamin D or something, and I understand that with my staying indoors all weekend and only venturing out to do some mild shopping or get a tattoo, I should just work on getting out more.
