2009-01-02 07:40:00 AP - Actor Bernie Hamilton, who played the no-nonsense police captain on the 1970s TV series "Starsky and Hutch," has died. He was 80. Hamilton died of cardiac arrest Tuesday night at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center, said his son, Raoul Hamilton.

On my first visit, I had the Moosewood Middle Eastern Salad—tabouli salad over a cannellini-bean cake with a yogurt-tahini dressing—which I found yummy, particularly the dressing. I would have liked a second bean cake to make it a bit heartier, though. Way funnier than the old TV series it's based on, Starsky & Hutch is not only a parody of the series but cops movies in general, hence the reference to Dirty Harry in one of the scenes. What the movie makes so hilarious is the way they take all these sort of sterotypes and clichés you find in the cop buddy genre and enlarge them to an extent that they become so over the top and obvious that you can't help but laugh. The movie seems to believe so much in itself and characters take themselves way too seriously which make them convincing. Actors don't play the joke and try to be funny, but approach their characters with much seriousness and let their weird habits and persona speak for themselves. Indoor Waterpark in Hutchinson, Kansas
2007-07-20 00:00:00 Last Saturday we went to this great indoor water park in Hutchinson, Kansas. If my memory serves me correctly, I think it is called Grand Prairie. It is inside a hotel and we were there for like 5 1/2 hours swimming. I was more than exhausted. But, we had a lot of fun together and with my sister's family who invited us to come along. There were two big, curly slides to go down. One to go down with a tube and one without. There is a lazy river, a huge jacuzzi with a waterfall, a climbing/balancing/floating disk cross-over thing, an area for playing water basketball, and finally, a huge kiddie pool with slides and spraying water. We were wiped out. I and my daughter spent at least the first hour just going up and down the slides. We had all of our stuff on one of the tables. That was our base.
