The Hindu Business Line reports that Google India’s Hyderabad office has been shut down completely for a couple of days after a few of its employees were found to be infected with the H1N1 influenza. It is a respiratory disease of pigs caused by type A strains of the influenza virus. It regularly causes high flu outbreaks in pigs but with low death rates. There are four main sub-types of the virus, but the most recent isolated influenza viruses from pigs have been H1N1 viruses. An email was sent to all employees of the company as a quick decision was taken to sanitize the building for two days. Letters in bold are facts. Rest is fiction. On the hot sunny afternoon of June 27, 2008, some nieghborhood boys gathered under a tree on Airport Road, Hyderabad. Somebody brought a Carrom Board from their home and then they played for the title championship. A donkey cart boy also stopped by to get a peek at the Final. There were no strict rules in the games as was obvious from any markings (baselines, center circle) being absent from the Carrom Board. The striker was of doughnut shape and boric acid was missing from the surface too. The game was so intense that only three boys (including the donkey cart boy) were looking towards the camera, and one looked away. All otheres were transfixed at the board.

Philippines real estate firm enters into India real estate

Red Fort to invest Rs 3,500cr into Indian realty sector

The money will be invested in real estate projects ? commercial, residential and retail ? as well as land acquisitions. It has also launched a domestic fund few weeks back through which it plans to raise Rs 1,000 crore. The proceeds would be deployed into non-foreign direct investment projects. 2008-04-16 05:10:00 MUMBAI: Although most complaints with the banking ombudsman are against public sector banks, private and multinational banks are seeing larger growth in customer grievances on an incremental basis. Data published by the Reserve Bank of India (RBI) indicates that majority of complaints were related to credit cards.According to data released by RBI, complaints against Nationalised banks have risen by 4%, last year. State Bank, whose technology upgradation last year caused some changeover problems, saw its complaints rise by 12%. However, the share of private and foreign banks in customer complaints has been growing much faster than their share of overall business. For instance, complaints received against private and foreign banks in 2006-07 rose by 33% and 26%, respectively, compared with complaints received a year ago.Nationalised banks, followed by the State Bank group, received bulk of customer complaints in 2006-07, while co-operative banks accounted only for 1% of the total numb...
