Thoughts on I am Legend - new Template
2008-06-02 16:22:00 Last night Travis and I watched the movie I am Legend w/ Will Smith. I was hesitant to watch it because my friend Kelly said it was really scary... so scary that she actually walked out of it at the theater. :-) hope she doesnt mind me sharing that HAHA.I wanted to see it because my mom told me she liked it.. and I figured if she could stand to watch it.. I could :-)My thoughts..I found it fairly clean (for the sort of movie it was)! I thought for sure it would of had a ton of cursing... a nude scene of some sort and major gut and blood... but it didnt.I remember one curse word in the entire movie.. and it was during that scene that Will Smith was yelling at a manican (sp?)That was it for cursing..No nudityNo sex scenesThe gore wasn't like I thought... I didn't find it very gory at all to be honest. I thought there were a few parts that were "bloody" but very little. 2008-05-14 17:56:00 What was geared up to be a great movie blockbuster (in my own mind), started off great and slowly tapered to one shitty ending.I remember I was so excited to see this movie when the original trailers came out. The trailers focused more on Will being a lone survivor in New York City following some kind of post apocalyptic event...but there were hints he wasn't alone. Oooo. Excitement she wrote! Then the trailer showing us the villains of the movie premiered and somewhere you know George Lucas was touching himself in anticipation.Fucking CGI-fake-video game-reject creations from The Mask-looking pieces of crap. Part of my whole problem with the Star Wars prequels, was that it seemed like nothing in the movies were real...and it wasn't even done in a stylized form like Sky Captain and the World of Tomorrow. For those of us that saw ‘I Am Legend’ and know anything about the original story, well we felt a little let down with the ending. But that was not the ending we were meant to see. For those of you that did not see ‘I Am Legend’ and don’t care about spoiling it for yourself, STOP READING RIGHT NOW! MAJOR SPOILERS!! In the theatrical ending, Will Smith’s character learns he has created a cure for the virus that turns you into those weird vampire/zombie creatures. Right when he learns this, his safe house becomes taken over by those creatures and corner Smith in his basement. Smith gives the cure to this mother and her son and shows them a way out of his house so they can possibly find survivors. 2008-02-19 17:04:00 Yup, I just finished watching the deebeedee. When I first saw the trailer, I was eagerly anticipating for it, expecting ala-28days/weeks later kind of action. But I heard from a F@W that it's more geared to Tom Hanks' "Castaway" with lots of monologue. Sounds boring but still a bit intrigued. Was able to borrow it from Dani's ninong yesterday, popped it in the player and an hour and a half later, I felt a great sense of parental paranoia and ask myself. What does the future hold for my Dani?Monsters in various forms.. argh!Tsk. Its bad not only for my heart but also for my sanity..really. I remembered Mhay's post about The Powerful Prayer of Mothers and immediately said a short prayer for my daughter asking God to please look after her. I seldom pray nowadays but even before I rarely pray for myself. It's just that I trust God too much that I know He'll take care of everything. 2008-01-17 07:35:00 I have been a big Will Smith fan since he was in the "Fresh Prince of Bel Air" I think he's smart and funny. He's a pretty good actor too, so it doesn't hurt that he's also pretty cute! Filmkritik: I Am Legend
2008-01-16 15:04:00 I Am Legend ist in gewisser Weiße, schon ein aufwendiger Film und dann doch wiederum nicht. Für diesen Film wurden ganze Straßenzüge in Manhatten / New York City komplett abgeriegelt, was so nicht ganz im Sinne der New Yorker war und so sagt Will Smith, dass er noch nie in seinem Leben, so viele Stinkefinger gezeigt bekommen hat, wie bei dem Dreh dieses Films in New York. Aber gerade diese Maßnahme und die damit vorhandene echte Kulisse, macht den Film in dieser Hinsicht so glaubwürdig und kann einem in die Situation des einzigen Überlebenden, fesseln. Auf der anderen Seite gibt es dann die computergenerierten Charaktere der Zombies/Infizierten und Tiere. Sie wirken einfach nicht real. Sie sind nicht gerade schlecht umgesetzt, aber man merkt halt, dass diese Figuren aus dem Rechner stammen und da wirkt es dann doch teilweise, wie in einem größerem Computerspiel. Hier tritt das selbe Problem auf, wie z.B. schon bei den neuen und aufwändigen StarWars Filmen. Die computerge... |
