Well, of course that's after a very interesting morning we had and is worth relating in detail. To begin with, our ride here from Hangzhou was supposed to be a brief 2 hour bus snoozer, but which turned into a 5 hour circus of confusion. Somewhere along the way, on an off-ramp, the bus came to a halt and we could see a comotion outside. Several of the passengers and the bus driver came out of the bus and started a fist-fight with the driver of a car which was stopped quite close to the bus. We don't know why it happened (maybe someone cut someone else off?), but it lasted several rounds, with the car driver shaking his fist and yelling, and with several people coming and punching and kicking him on at least 3 separate occasions that we could see, before the police came. I've spent the last two days in "Nurse Orientation", soon to be followed by 2 days of "Hospital Orientation", then some "Diversity Training", all before I can even start working.I was terribly pleased today though, to hear about the other applicants for the job. Apparently one person showed up drunk, and subsequently forgot where she was. Another applicant started shouting about her Vicodin addiction midway through the interview. So basically I think I got the job because I was the only unimpaired nurse applying. I always knew that intermittent sobriety would serve me well one day. I will be working day shift. I'm SO apprehensive about this, I've worked night shift for so long, I won't know what to do. The hospital will probably get pissed if I hand out the sleeping pills anyway, huh?
