Will Leftists Still be Trying to Impeach Bush & Cheney After they Leave Off
2008-06-11 07:28:00
Lately, I’ve been getting a lot of e-mail from cowards, random individuals (or maybe just one individual using a variety of names) who send me links featuring screen names with moveon.org addresses. When I reply, I receive a MAILER-DAEMON e-mail informing me, “The email account that you tried to reach does not exist.” That’s why ...
Force Congress to Impeach Bush/Cheney: Step One
2008-04-27 06:56:00
From PledgeToImpeach.org comes news of a strike:Dear Pledges,When you signed your pledge to participate in a strike to force Congress to impeach George Bush and Dick Cheney, we promised you that your pledge would only be called in if we knew we had enough people on board to effectively shut down the nation, leaving Congress no alternative but to impeach Bush/Cheney. Though we have made substantial progress toward that end, we have not yet gained that certainty. What we do have is a growing solidarity between PTI, other impeachment groups, and now several labor unions, all working to close down our nations largest sea ports on April 30 and May 1. (Los Angeles, Long Beach, Newark, and Houston). Though this is not a calling of your pledge to stay home from work and shopping, it is a request that you find every way to support this action. Why? Because this action can give large numbers of determined Americans confidence in our cause and our ability to organize an effective national s...

Judiciary Chair 'Struggling' With Decision to Impeach Bush
2008-03-19 23:12:00
At a gathering of liberal activists in Washington on Tuesday, Rep. John Conyers (D-Mich.) was asked if he would commit to holding the Bush administration accountable once a Democrat is in the White House and illegal acts have been pinned on President Bush. "Yes, you have my word on that," Conyers replied. He then shook the questioner's hand as a sign of his commitment. Conyers, who chairs the House Judiciary Committee, told an audience at the liberal Take Back America Conference that he is wrestling with the idea of beginning impeachment proceedings against President Bush and Vice President Cheney, but he believes that such an effort might hamper Sen. Barack Obama's chance of winning the presidency. However, Conyers guaranteed his liberal audience that he will pursue legal action against Bush after the November elections. Way to have a backbone there chief.  If you believe that Bush has committed a crime while in office, you have a moral obligation to pursue impeachment pro...

The Neo-Con Foreign Policy     of Self-Fulfilling Prophecy    Yet Again: Why We Must Impeach   President Bush and Vice President Cheney By Hank Edson A Time for Humble PieOn Tuesday, President Bush reported to the nation and the world that a recent National Intelligence Estimate (NIE) concluded that four years ago Iran had stopped its covert program aimed at developing nuclear weapons. To many sober minds, this news would be cause not only for a little celebration, but also a little humble pie. After all, over the past several months, the President and other senior members of his administration have depicted Iran over the last several months as bent upon acquiring nuclear weapons. As recently as October, President Bush said in a press conference, “ I think so long -- until they suspend and/or make it clear that they -- that their statements aren't real, yeah, I believe they want to have the capacity, the knowledg...

A Northeast Ohio man posted a sign that said "Impeach Bush" on a public lawn, alongside garage sale ads, realty ads, and sale signs, and was the only one prosecuted by Kent police for advertising on public property, and fined around $125. The man, Kevin Egler, a 45-year old teacher, asked the police officer how his sign was different from the signs actually advertising something for sale elsewhere on the property.

Takoma Park (Washington DC) Moonbats vote to impeach Bush & Cheney
2007-07-25 07:18:00
More clueless moonbats that go for fluff over substance. They know they are accomplishing nothing yet still slap each other on the back for a job well done. Is it any wonder that Washington DC is in the mess it is with this type of leadership? Takoma Park, a city of about 18,000 people on the Washington border in Montgomery County, has a history of liberal but largely symbolic causes. In the 1980s, the city declared itself a nuclear free zone, meaning the city can't invest in businesses connected to the manufacture of nuclear weapons.Maybe if they spent less time on useless political gestures and more time on getting their inner city youth to maybe oh say finish high school or convincing the young black males that it is not kEwL to father so many children out of marriage. Impeach Bush? Not a popular idea...
2007-07-10 16:07:00
Contrary to some rhetoric being tossed around... according to Gallup only about a third of Americans believe that an impeachment would be justified. By 62%-36%, those surveyed say an impeachment inquiry against Bush, promoted by some liberal websites including ImpeachBush.com, wouldn't be justified. House Speaker Nancy Pelosi says Congress has no intention of holding such proceedings. Republicans oppose the idea 91%-9%. Democrats support it 54%-44%. The poll results were imbedded into the last paragraph of a front page story about Bush's 29% approval rating... so this wasn't a biased poll leaning to the right.

Vermont Democrats Move to Impeach Bush
2007-04-24 20:22:00
"Democrats are not about impeachment," Mrs. Pelosi said on NBC's "Meet the Press" in May. "Democrats are about bringing the country together."Well, not so much anymore.Vermont Senators passed a resolution calling for El Presidente's head late last week in a move that Democrats promised would not happen (pre-election).The Senate resolution is not specific in its complaints, but says Bush and Cheney "have exercised the duties of their respective offices with respect to both domestic and foreign affairs in ways that raise serious questions of constitutionality, statutory legality, and abuse of the public trust."Translated: We don't like Republicans, so we're going to attempt to go Ken Starr on them. We don't have anything specific, but does that really matter anyway? Is it as alarming to you as it is to me that the climate in Washington is so polarized now that simple differences in philosophy bring actual impeachment to mind? Bush might have made inept decisions as commander in ch...

Vermont towns seek to impeach Bush
2007-03-10 15:19:01
by Jason Szep Reuters BOSTON (Reuters) - More than 30 Vermont towns passed resolutions on Tuesday seeking to impeach President Bush, while at least 16 towns in the tiny New England state called on Washington to withdraw U.S. troops from Iraq…. ….”We’re putting impeachment on the table,” said James Leas, a Vermont lawyer who helped to draft the resolutions and is tracking the votes. “The people in all these towns are voting to get this process started and bring the troops home now.” The resolutions passed on Vermont’s annual town meeting day — a colonial era tradition where citizens debate issues of the day big and small — are symbolic and cannot force Congress to impeach Bush, but they “may help instigate further discussions in the legislature,” said state Rep. David Zuckerman. “The president must be held accountable,” said Zuckerman, a politician from Burlington, Vermont’s largest city...

Americans Ponder: Impeach Bush?
2006-12-18 05:09:01
By a margin of 53% to 42%, Americans want Congress to impeach President Bush if he lied about the war in Iraq, according to a new Zogby poll. The poll was a nationwide telephone operation which interviewed 1,200 U.S. adults from October 29th through November 2nd. Party Affiliation (percentage of those who favor impeachment) ? 76% Democrat ? 50% Independent ? 29% Republican Age ? 70% (18-29) ? 51% (31-49) ? 50% (50-64) ? 42% (65+) Gender ? 56% women ? 49% men Race ? 90% of African Americans ? 67% Hispanics ? 46% Whites Religion ? Majorities of Catholics, Jews, and Muslims ? 49% Protestants ? 46% Born Again Christians Studies show a steady increase in support of impeachment at a clip of 3% each month. At that rate the percentage of Americans who would like to see President Bush impeached would climb to 60% in January, 65% in March, and 70% in April. This contrasts starkly with the 16 major polls conducted between August and September of 1998 when the same question was asked regarding...
McKinney Introduces Bill to Impeach Bush
2006-12-09 10:10:05
WASHINGTON (AP) - In what was likely her final legislative act in Congress, outgoing Georgia Rep. Cynthia McKinney introduced a bill Friday to impeach President Bush. The legislation has no chance of passing and serves as a symbolic parting shot not only at Bush but also at Democratic leaders. Incoming House Speaker Nancy Pelosi, D-Calif., has made clear that she will not entertain proposals to sanction Bush and has warned the liberal wing of her party against making political hay of impeachment. McKinney, a Democrat who drew national headlines in March when she struck a Capitol police officer, has long insisted that Bush was never legitimately elected. In introducing her legislation in the final hours of the current Congress, she said Bush had violated his oath of office to defend the Constitution and the nation’s laws. In the bill, she accused Bush of misleading Congress on the war in Iraq and violating privacy laws with his domestic spying program. Full Story Here: McKinne...
