Bollywood star Sanjay Dutt, out of jail on bail for a weapons conviction, is considering a move into politics in forthcoming general elections, a report said Wednesday. Dutt's family has had a long association with politics and his father, Sunil, spent almost two decades in parliament as an MP for the Congress party and also served as a federal sports minister before his death in 2005. "My father has done social work all his life. Why shouldn't I too do the same as a social servant? Why should I be deprived of an opportunity?" Dutt told the Times of India newspaper. Sanjay's sister Priya Dutt was elected as a Congress MP for her father's constituency in northwest Mumbai, where India's prolific film industry is based. "I am sure the party (Congress) will give both of us tickets from two different seats," Dutt was quoted as saying. Dutt, known for his roles as a tough guy, is one of Bollywood's most popular and bankable stars despite his criminal conviction. ...

What a shame...sick of Indian politics, super cop,Kiran Bedi retires premat
2007-11-28 16:45:00
India’s pride, world renowned, the first lady IPS of our country Kiran Bedi has opted for VRS(Voluntary Retirement Scheme). She still has 18 months left in her service. She has given her application already and is under consideration. She said she will work from outside to reform the system. What a pity on India’s sick politics. Earlier this year,Mr Y.S. Dadwal was made Delhi’s commissioner of police ahead of her.The reason that made this decision even more disgusting was that Mr. Dadwal is her junior and had 4 years of service left.So he would have anyways got Commissioner’s rank after Bedi’s retirement as tenure of commissioner is 2 years and he had 4 years but Mrs Bedi had only 2.What an insult of her commitment and excellent work that was.How much she gave to our country, our society but this is the way we treat our true heroes, really. That was dis-heartening even for me,we cant even imagine what she would have felt.Obviously shocked and diss appointed...

Decreasing standard of Indian politics
2007-08-23 07:06:00
India is a biggest democracy in the world and we are also celebrating 60 years of our democracy, however on the other hand standard of Indian politics is decreasing day by day. Conduct and Behaviour of our most of our political leaders is even worse than ordinary school children. Large numbers of our political leaders are involved in the corruption and illegal methods of occupying power. Political parties are busy in highlighting baseless issues while sidelining major basic issues of public. This is really a shame for political leaders and parties of India to behave in this irrelevant way. For every political party and leader of India only major thing is to gain maximum vote bank by any method right or wrong, while giving no attention to the basic needs of the people. This is a strange game of political suffering and dominance in India, which is causing lot of problems for the common people by hampering their growth. Today major hurdle in the growth of India is its aligning politica...
