Some Little Points That Get Lost Among Big Sathya Sai Trust Reassurances of
2011-06-30 14:47:00 Some random points, flow in and out of mind. Like the ocean – interesting to peer at, but not very drinkable: There is glaring contradiction between statements of Srinivasan, who has admitted Trust involvement in extraordinary movements of cash, and of R.J. Ratnakar, who says that the money is actually from 12 donors, and can ...
Sathya Sai Trust?s R.J.Ratnakar ? Long Police Interrogation. Intensive Inve
2011-06-26 01:18:00 Latest reports in the Indian media reveal that the Anantapur district police have questioned a leading Sathya Sai Central Trust member, Sathya Sai Baba's nephew R.J. Ratnakar for over five hours. He has refused media interviews. Police have scheduled for Monday 27 June an interview with another prominent Sathya Sai Central Trust member, V. Srinivasan. As matters stand, there is glaring contradiction between statements of Srinivasan, who has admitted Trust involvement in extraordinary movements of cash, and of R.J. Ratnakar, who says that the money is actually from 12 donors, and can be explained. Information is abroad that R.J. Ratnakar has been attempting to involve a number of Sai Baba students in attempts to cover up certain of the financial irregularities, but that the boys and their families have refused to have anything to do with any improper dealings. See Hindu Times article, below. ----------------------------------------------------- For those with information, I can ...
Sai Baba Treasure Scandals: His Big Political Protectors Now Run For Cover
2011-06-22 02:33:00 For some weeks, it has been evident to any careful observer, that the Andhra Pradesh government has been only too aware of troubles in the Sathya Sai camp that might grow too big to suppress. Indeed, it is a campfire that none can stamp out, and looks like becoming a raging forest fire. The critters are on-the-run. Most notably, there were a series of suspicious circumstances leading up to Sathya Sai Baba's death. These are being investigated, including by a human rights commission. Hopefully, all the attention given to the treasury scandals will not allow this aspect to drop from sight, as happened with the suppression of police evidence concerning the police killings in Sai Baba's bedroom in June 1993. What is more, prominent followers of Sathya Sai Baba are themselves deeply disturbed at the intense infighting within the Sai Central Trust, despite its repeated - and dishonest - denials. These devotees, too, are asking leading and uncomfortable questions, and consulting legal o...
Baba Ram Dev?s Challenge to Indian Government and Corporate Corruption
2011-06-08 04:56:00 The Swami Ramdev challenge to high level government and corporate corruption in India is but one indicator of the type of institutional violence with which Manmohan Singh is ready to react (see Reuters report below) when confronted not by a handful of determined foreigners from various countries but by a popular swami from within India itself. Baba Ram Dev, like Mahatma Gandhi and other Indian leaders, resorts to the fast-unto-death means of getting his message across. An interesting comment appears at Live Mint.com and The Wall Street Journal:
Can Tomorrow?s Indian Citizens March Like Today?s Egyptians?
2011-02-13 01:01:00 Kind reader, please indulge me an acute understatement: Exposing Sathya Sai Baba, and that core of servitors who exercise control over his worldwide cult, has not been easy. Crowded around him, like a protective phalanx, have long been Indian presidents, prime and ministers, many ministers and civil service heads from both State and Central governments, Supreme and High Court judges, heads of police, the armed services, foreign service, foremost industrialists, financiers .... and a long list more of India's social, political and cultural elites. As I watched the footage of brave Egyptian citizens risking their lives to unseat a leader and government they believe have sorely betrayed the people, my mind reflected back to the courage ? to take but one example ? of thousands of Indian citizens who accompanied Mahatma Gandhi on the great salt marches.
V.P.B. Nair Told BBC Sai Baba Bedroom Killings Were ?Coldblooded Murder?
2011-01-06 11:49:00 In mid 2004, former Andhra Pradesh Home Secretary, V.P.B. Nair spoke to the BBC about the official corruption that attended the police killings in Sathya Sai Baba's bedroom in June 1993. He said he intended to take steps to get the case re-opened. But has he done anything of the sort? It is an odd irony that exposure of these killings at Puttaparthi, and the subsequent profound suppression of investigation, have been effectively left up to two individuals gifted with cussed unstoppableness - the late Basava Premanand in India and Robert Priddy in Norway.
?God? (Sathya Sai Baba) Blunders On! ? On History
2011-01-02 02:04:00 Sathya Sai Baba's blunders on history and science are big. For some science examples, see the articles cited at the foot of this page. Readers perturbed to see their friends, family or colleagues getting into the Sathya Sai Baba cult may consider - if the victims are not too far blinded - sharing such materials as highlighted in red, below. A great many educated people have learnt enough history to see what absurd nonsense is revealed in such claims of Sathya Sai Baba. Yet here is a man - of imperial wealth and vast sway over the minds of many, including those supposedly educated - who proclaims to the millions that he is all-knowing, all-seeing and all-powerful. And that he is the 'Avatar' (embodiment of God on earth) who will effectively transform the entire world in his own lifetime. Here is a man - and no god of any sort - at whose feet successive Indian Prime Ministers, Presidents and other eminences, across a wide religious and political spectrum, have repeatedly fallen...
Sai Baba Breaks Down and Sobs At 85th Birthday Celebration (Video Footage)
2010-12-31 01:16:00 Over the years, we have received various reports of Sathya Sai Baba increasingly losing a composure that has been oft-noted in him for decades. But only recently has this type of behaviour been clear for all to see, and in video footage emanating from his own camp. During his November birthday, Sathya Sai Baba - in the midst of being praised for all the good he has done - broke down and sobbed deeply and for some time. To see this video,
India, Corruption and Sathya Sai Baba and His Chief Servitors
2010-12-27 02:07:00 The person who wrote to me the following apparently comes from Andhra Pradesh, the State in South India where Sathya Sai Baba has his chief ashram in Puttaparthi. They commented on my previous blog: Wikileaks and Indian Troops Atrocities Reports. Sai Baba Fails To ?Clean Up Own Backyard?. In regard to India's endemic corruption, the person speaks of my 'inferring' by some convoluted logic that it parallels the causes for India's many sicknesses. It strikes me that the writer uses the notion "that it (the corruption) parallels" in a systemically misleading way. Surely a more helpful contextualization of the corruption issue to be seen in Sathya Sai Baba and his core servitors is a notion not of 'parallel' but of symptom. This is to say that - apart from the fact that corruption can be found in any social system - many of the Sai Baba-related corruptions are rooted in aspects deep-rooted in the Indian social system. It would, of course, be absurd to say that all the co...
Wikileaks and Indian Troops Atrocities Reports. Sai Baba Fails To ?Clean Up
2010-12-19 00:44:00 This is but one of a number of huge issues erupting in India right at the moment. Every tragic year that passes shows that Sathya Sai Baba has not "cleaned up (his) own backyard", as he long ago promised he would do. India's security and well-being do not rest in the hands of her superstitious and corrupt leadership - many individuals of which gather around Sathya Sai Baba. They are in the hands of those who at every level actively and honestly struggle, with great sacrifice, against the venalities. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- WikiLeaks: India 'systematically torturing civilians in Kashmir' US diplomats were given evidence suggesting India was systematically torturing civilians in Kashmir, according to leaked cables. Is Puttaparthi Glitter the ?Shining India??
2010-12-15 23:31:00 Many are the demonstrably mistaken accusations thrown at those who have stood forth to expose Sathya Sai Baba and his international sect. For example, typically taking our remarks badly out-of-context, it is said that we are: "India bashers". But they do their cause harm; and we learn that many Sai devotees will have nothing to do with them - although we also know that some who are close to Sathya Sai Baba have assisted them in various ways. Indeed, the absurdity and intellectual dishonesty of their attempts to defame will not win them the favour of astute and questioning readers.
Sathya Sai 85th Birthday. Has Said He Will Soon Rule World, And Not Age

Disquiet In India On Sathya Sai Baba
2010-11-10 22:26:00 Despite profound a profound black ban by most of the Indian media news inimical to Sathya Sai Baba and his cult, various forces of dissent in India continue to protest Sathya Sai Baba related visits involving high profile politicians. The two reports below are months apart. Note in the second report, our 'old' acquaintance, Shrivraj Patil, the former Indian Home Minister, one of a number of deeply disgraced former government officials who are devotees of Sathya Sai Baba, rates a mention. See my articles:
Wolf Messing and Sathya Sai Baba: Serguei Badaev and Brian Steel Articles O
2010-10-22 23:52:00 One of many instructive cases that challenge Sai Baba's self-presentation are his references, across time, to an alleged meeting of himself and the Polish psychic Wolf Messing. The more scrutiny that is given - other than by the eyes of blind faith - to many of Sathya Sai Baba's pronouncements about history and science the more a rational reader is struck by the occurrence of error, contradiction and lack of clarity. An editor at the Invigilator blogsite has noted: "The text previously posted about Wolf Messing by Alexandra Nagel on this blog (written in 2004) has been removed since researches by expert investigators - entirely independently of all Sathya Sai Baba connections - have proven almost his entire biography to be a concocted myth. This information only emerged after new hitherto unknown sources became available. showing that the world has been totally misled by the claims put forward by Wolf Messing and Mikhail Khvastunov. In his thorough article summarizing these ma...
Commonwealth Games: ?Shining India?s? Mismanagement By Crisis. Sai Baba Not
2010-09-25 01:52:00 At the 11th hour, after India's fiasco-ridden series of chaotic mismanagements, India's Prime Minister, Manmohan Singh (a follower of Sathya Sai Baba), and emergency teams of officials are racing to save the 2010 Commonwealth Games. Former devotee writers and other critics correctly point (amid his many other failed predictions) to Sathya Sai Baba's inability to counteract - to all but the smallest degree - India's problems. (See the glaringly revealing scan from Sai Baba's close follower Dr John Hislop's book 'Conversations With Bhagavan Sri Sathya Sai Baba'', below). Despite the mass of contradictions and the vast corruptions in India, conscienceless attackers such as the Sathya Sai Baba man, Gerald Moreno of New Mexico, USA, allied with some of Sai Baba's notable followers, who stay in the background, accuses these critics of "India bashing". Such cultic blindess in a populist spokesperson is but the public face of countless Sai Baba followers whose heads are deeply ...
Institutional Sex Corruption: Plight of Roman Catholic Church and Sathya Sa
2010-09-19 01:00:00 In the face of far too powerful, worldwide exposure of endemic Roman Catholic Church corruption, Pope Benedict XVI has called for reconciliation. Only at this chronically late hour, and in the face of terrible and universal threat to his institution's survival, does he begin to treat sexual abuse as a reportable crime, and make apologies, and require his officials to take meaningful actions against the sexual abuse that the world now nows is rampant in his Church. It is the year 2010 and yet official communiques coming from the Vatican and other official sections of the Roman Catholic Church almost make it sound as though decades of sexual abuse complaints involving priests all over the world were something new. There may be contrite tears now, and official cries for reconciliation. But where were these down the decades of victims' anguish? The Sathya Sai Organization still has not come to this point. It too has lain low. It too has turned a hard heart of the cries of individua...
Sathya Sai Baba and His ?Demons?
2010-09-09 02:22:00 There are many testimonies against the conduct of Sathya Sai Baba, and they frequently come from sources far remote from each other. Sometimes, indeed, the reports come from within other spiritual organizations where their members report having come to grief at the hands of Sathya Sai Baba. See my previous post: Sathya Sai Baba Sex ...
Sai Baba and the Indian Judiciary
2010-09-06 18:39:00 Basava Premanand probed deeply into various claims by devotees that Sathya Sai Baba had ‘fixed’ the judiciary to protect them. His voluminous correspondence with court authorities at all levels show how he was gives a pathetic run-around and that his questions were never answered by anyone, but referred to others. In no remotely democratic judiciary ...
Sathya Sai Baba Sex Abuse Allegations: A Typical ?Iceberg Tip? Testimony
2010-09-06 06:54:00 I invite my reader to click across to Robert Priddy’s blogsite and read the short piece he has just blogged. These quoted emails are but an iceberg tip of testimony that we have encountered. I am confident that most readers would not feel up to processing many of the appalling abuse revelations that we have seen. As international co-ordinators on behalf of ...
A Sathya Sai Saga. Barry Pittard Recollects. Part 6
2010-08-28 01:12:00 Importance to Morale Of Professional Counselors In Former Devotee Networking Among the increasingly networked former followers were mental health professionals, including highly qualified ones, up to associate professor in status. One felt thankful for the presence of these abuse counseling professionals. They, like many of us acquainted with compelling cases from around the world are in no doubt that Sathya Sai Baba has long been a serial sexual abuser of boys and young men, and other grave forms of abuse, including those by certain of his close associates. We laypersons can all learn, of course, more effective ways of managing shocking revelations that can occur in our lives. At the same time, the best of intentions can go awry if we mistake our limitations. We had to be aware, for example, that an abuse survivor who may sense urgency to warn and save others can risk unforeseen kinds of attack. This can relate to their families, professions, places of study, and so on. Those ...

Sathya Sai Baba and the Law. Is A Real Pro-Con Discussion Possible?
2010-08-05 07:19:00 This post relates to my previous one: Why Have Ex-Devotees Not Landed Sathya Sai Baba In Jail? - Posted by Barry Pittard on July 31, 2010. Implicit is the hope that the articulate enquirer who first wrote to this site is not - although separate data indicates that he is Sathya Sai Baba devotee - an apparachik working hand-in-glove with the Sathya Sai Organization. After all, many who have approached us were once in the role of enquirer. Some took a year or more before they were able to transit from the position of troubled devotees to one in which they, having seriously investigated, saw the substance of various kinds of allegations against Sathya Sai Baba and his key servitors. My reader will, I think, quickly get a gist of the correspondence. As can be seen from the post cited above, I first requested that the writer of the email sent to this blogsite confirm the email status. I then wrote some points, along with links I thought may help elucidate the writer's query. The reply...
Senior Ex-CID officer J.V. Ram on Sathya Sai Baba ? part 1
2010-08-02 12:54:00 V.J. Ram (aka Janakiram) was a senior Indian CID sleuth who received the President’s Police Medal for his having solved many difficult cases. Should I feel that you show a robust readiness to read these and other basic readings, some of which should begin to answer, in a variety of ways, the query that you have put to me, and a truthful sincerity to engage (as thus far) in a civil correspondence where it is not your intention to abuse or libel many wonderful people who have left Sathya Sai Baba, I shall be glad to correspond with you.

Posted by Barry Pittard on July 20, 2010 Apart from Terry Gallagher, the other two individuals whose articles appeared in the Nexus magazine also had respected histories as Sathya Sai Baba devotees. One of the articles related the frightening escape experiences of wife and husband Gurprit and Jens Singh (Germany), who sought the assistance of the (then) Federal West German Embassy in New Delhi. I have written of this couple here: ?BILD? Story. ?Guru Wants Sex? (Sathya Sai Baba). The other author was Hans de Kraker (Australia). Sathya Sai Baba appointed de Kraker Western Canteen Director, a position he held from 1989 to 1997. Nexus magazine covers many stories which the media has not run or else run extensively. There is sworn testimony in both these cases.
A Sathya Sai Saga. Barry Pittard Recollects. Part 1
2010-07-20 00:07:00 For twenty five years, I was deeply devoted to Sathy Sai Baba. He is widely regarded as India's most famous and most politically and religiously powerful guru. At his behest, and as an unpaid service, I taught all three years intake in the Humanities degree course at the Sathya Sai College at Whitefield, via Bangalore, South India (1977-1978). In particular, quite apart from a large workload with the first two years, to have been handed the college Principal's third year English lectures was a considerable challenge for which I shall always be grateful, especially given that this was my first teaching job, except for school experience in my teaching diploma, and my coaching at a college in Australia that helped put me through university, and having also just done post graduate theatre training.
Gerald Moreno: No Real Sai Baba Devotee Could Applaud
2010-07-14 02:34:00 It would not be possible for any professional, nor indeed competent school students of clear thinking, to view as urbane, civil and non-defamatory the writings of the internet fanatic, stalker and extreme manipulator of internet rankings, Gerald Joe Moreno, of New Mexico, USA. In striking at prominent former devotee coordinators, he will even abuse the names of their family members. The independent British author of books and papers on religion and philosophy Kevin R.D. Shepherd writes:
?The Pioneer? report on the Sathya Sai Baba bedroom murder case
2010-07-07 19:58:00 The Pioneer, New Delhi 10-6-1993 According to highly placed sources, the sleuths are finding themselves in the unenviable position where, on the one hand, no cooperation is forthcoming from Sai Baba and other officials of Prashanti Nilayam and, on the other, they would have to investigate the role of the local police. Alexandra Nagel. A Seminal Writer On Sathya Sai Baba, A Guru Accused
2010-07-02 22:35:00 Rapidly, from around the world, there was an upthrust of allegation and counter-allegation. Apart from material often by non-writers, there was serious, sustained, analytical work. After the watershed first two to three years of internet exposure of Sathya Sai Baba and his sect, others than the Dutch former devotee academic writer Alexandra Nagel, like Robert Priddy, Brian Steel, Timothy Conway Ph.D., and myself took issues to many other levels, but certainly Ms Nagel's writing was seminal, and it would be a pity to see it neglected. (Her M.A. thesis deals with aspects of the History of Western Esotericism). Though she has dealt with internet issues, she herself has not had a blogsite or website. Robert Priddy, Brian Steel, Timothy Conway have long had extensive websites. The the former two have blogsites, and I have this one, 'Call For Media and Government Investigation of Sathya Sai Baba'. See: A Guru Accused. Sai Baba, from Avatar to Homo-paedophile. Alexandra H. M. Nagel. ...
Sathya Sai Baba?s Chief Broadcaster Dr G. Venkataraman: Select Critical Art
2010-06-23 23:04:00 Sathya Sai Baba Broadcaster Dr G. Venkarataraman: Select Critical Articles, by Barry Pittard Dr Venkataraman is about as close to Sathya Sai Baba as it is possible to get. His worldwide brief as his international broadcaster and his deputy chairmanship of the Sathya Sai Organization makes it revelvant to look at his performance. The reader may keep in mind the question: Is Venkataraman's performance what one would expect of a chief disciple of - supposedly - God fully incarnate? Of course, even the most eminent disciples of famous spiritual leaders of the past made some bad showings, but (if the historical records are to be credited) turned out okay in the final run home. But has Venkataraman done so? A detailed analyis of Venkatarman at work is found in Robert Priddy's and Barry Pittard's jointly authored, four-part article 'The Sathya Sai Organization's Deception and Propaganda Exposed'
Indian State High Court Blow For Swami Nityananda In Big Sex Case
2010-06-17 02:35:00 As previously pointed out at 'Call For Media and Government Investigation of Sathya Sai Baba', the Nityananda case has had huge coverage India-wide. The battery of television cameras point and shoot at even the most trivial details, along with excited commentary. Wealthy, influential and international though it is, Nityananda's organization cannot bear comparison with the enormous wealth, political and religious clout of Sathya Sai Baba and his global Sathya Sai Organization.
Sathya Sai Baba Cultist Yaani Drucker Claims Spiritual Enlightenment
2010-05-28 23:27:00 It is instructive to see the cultic mind at work. Too often, it conceals itself. Yaani Drucker - the Sathya Sai Baba worshipper who publicly claims that she has now achieved Enlightenment and runs workshops that aim to put others on the same path - has again written to a former follower of Sathya Sai Baba. Throughout her many statements, she fails to realise that, as a public figure, her advice on how to deal with rape and other traumatic experience, is far from what those in crisis care regard as advisable. Yet again, in her email to Robert Priddy, her own extremely simplistic assumptions give her away. She is as careless in small matters as in great. In a relatively small matter, reminding one of her own assumption that I am a psychologist, she has just written to Robert Priddy, telling him that his Ph.D., excludes him from any expertise in commenting about matters of Enlightenment. The fact is, that Robert Priddy does not have a Ph.D., and it has been known for many decades to ...
Swami Nityananda Sex Scandal News Round Up
2010-05-24 22:08:00 The following is a quite brief but useful selection of Indian press articles. They suffice to give a sense of the unfolding of the Nityananda sex scandal saga. It is a great pity that Sathya Sai Baba and his core servitors are not being held to public accountability. He is vastly more powerful and influential than Nityananda. It does India no credit, nationally or internationally, that she occasionally nets in a few minnows and not the tiger sharks. The enormous public reaction to the Nityananda case furnishes a picture that makes two issues extremely clear. The first is that blind faith in gurus down the milennia has been made a matter of wide public debate. The other is that new generations are beginning to throw off the shackles of the past. The question that remains is whether Indian shall ever become the great democracy that she could be. These factors are well brought out, if rather wordily, by the South Indian lawyer. See my note, and the video links, at:
Lawyer K.V.Dhananjay on Swami Nityananda Furore In India
2010-05-24 06:52:00 For those who appreciate a calm, rational discussion of issues relating to the Swami Nityananda sex case in India, the following interview of the South Indian lawyer K.V. Dhananjay is worth watching. India's vastly overloaded and deeply-flawed justice system is made most apparent. Difficulties in bringing any formal justice to Sathya Sai Baba and his core servitors can be inferred from this discussion It is these grave difficulties which Sathya Sai Baba's de facto apologists, ever ready in violation of their guru's teachings against harsh words and other forms of attack, completely - and with great shallowness - would try to deny.
Nityananda, Sathya Sai Baba et al? Do Hindus Really Approve Sexual Immorali
2010-05-21 02:05:00 The court appearances of Swami Nityananda of India on charges of improper sexual behaviour towards a number of young women have made him the butt of outrage throughout India. Innumerable news articles, blogs, chatrooms, attest to the overwhelming abhorence of a very broad Hindu public for the types of sexual practices being referred to in the Nityananda court proceedings. In recent years, a top-ranking Hindu leader sent me an email (which can be verfied for bona fide media and scholars who may wish to check that what networked former Sathya Sa Baba devotees and other critics claim is true). See: Sathya Sai Baba: ?Considerable Concern? In Wider Hindu Community. This outstanding leader, recognized by a wide cross-section of Hindu organizations in his country, wrote: ?There is considerable concern among the Hindu Community, especially among the educated. It is very hard to get any action from the temples as they do not wish to cause difficulties with the Sathya Sai Baba groups. Peo...
Sathya Sai Organization Spurns Leave-takers Whom It Formerly Honored For De
2010-05-20 02:37:00 One of two documents addressed which prominent ex-office bearers in the Sathya Sai Organization have addressed to Sathya Sai Baba's top officials is: "Towards Public Accountability and Due Investigation: A Formal Open Appeal To 'The Prashanti Council'" The so-called 'Prashanthi Council' is the ruling body over all Sathya Sai Baba instrumentalities. There was not even the courtesy of acknowledgement. It mattered nothing that signatories had given decades of the utmost dedicated service in his name. Or that they reflected the feelings of a great many who have, prompted by the keenest ethical principle, left Sathya Sai Baba and his organization. At the head of the international Sathya Sai Organization is Dr Michael Goldstein, of Corvena, California, USA. Here he is, caught by a BBC hidden camera (See: The BBC's 'The Secret Swami' - A Revision ):
Priest Abuse. Long-denied Justice Catching Up In Australia
2010-05-17 22:13:00 The gradual, but terribly long-delayed victory of those activists who have spoken out about sexual abuse in the Roman Catholic Church is happening. Unfortunately, organizations which also have long histories of perpetuating cover up frequently evade scrutiny. The Sathya Sai Organization, with its immense wealth and international outreach, is but one of many. I commend this material from our national broadcaster, the Australian Broadcasting Corporation. I have excerpted this article of last night, which is accompanied by video footage. No percipient reader in the world can now doubt that the Vatican is enaged in massive efforts at damage control. It cannot now of course deny its incredibly appalling record. The notion of 'coming clean' - which in certain respects the Roman Catholic Church is beginning to do - becomes the more strange when one considers that the dirt an the hiding of the dirt have been endemic for so long. In this light, the notion that we now live in 2010 becom...
The Quiet Weeding Out Of Sathya Sai Baba?s Embarrassing Statements
2010-05-06 02:03:00 The official Sathya Sai 'weeders' have removed the presence on the internet of major Sathya Sai Baba claims. These are of the sort bound to attract prompt dismissal in the minds of many enquirers. An extremely wide cross-section of any public, except those of his own fold, would regard his claims as stemming from megalomania. And it is those enquirers - and the money and skill-sets that successful recruitment can bring - that Sathya Sai Baba's organization desperately needs as donors if it is to continue to pay its astronomical bills. What to speak of subsidizing his promise to rule the world before he leaves it, circa 2022! It should be noted that the huge claims have not, in and of themselves, been withdrawn. But they are being kept as in-house as possible. Secular fronts like his 'Education in Human Values' and 'Educare' have been developed, which aim to penetrate schools, universities and and other mainstream institutions. But the tall claims are an absolute article of ...
More Testimony To Male Sexual Abuse By Sathya Sai Baba
2010-04-30 23:07:00 Below, Sebastian Engelbarts of The Netherlands relates his account of abuse experiences at the hands of Sathya Sai Baba. I need hardly point out that many testimonies have been shared with us with the request that they be kept confidential, and Robert Priddy and I (in our role of coordinators) have respected this. Others have stated that would only wish to make public their experiences in the context of investigation by, for example, a respected organization such as the BBC, Times of London, UNESCO, etc and/or by a court of law in a demoncratic country. I wish to add, as often, that for those who wish to avail themselves of legal or counseling services, we are happy to assist in obtaining those in the context of international best practice, with all the proper guarantees of accountability. In genuine circumstances of need, professionals in these areas can look to fee modification or waiver.
Sathya Sai Baba?s Tips To Keep Ageing Away
2010-04-29 01:26:00 Examination of recent photos on an official website show the way in which select students surround him at closer quarters than hitherto and with great vigilance, their faces and body language clearly anxious lest he topple over. Here, too, one observes the immobile face: On stage before February 2004?s Mahasivaratri crowd, the BBC cameras (in footage that would later become part of 'The Secret Swami', which has been seen in over 120 countries around the world) show Sai Baba looking increasingly sick. He produces the lingam, and the materialization trick demonstrated by Professor Narendra Nayak is easy for the viewer to spot, the lingam being concealed in Sai Baba?s handkerchief. In the ensueing documentary, the BBC journalist Tanya Datta comments: ?To the alarm of the crowd suddenly Sai Baba collapsed. His huge coterie of staff swung into action. There was panic. An organisation used to tight control seemed to have lost its grip. Sai Baba was hastily wheeled off stage.? Later...
Nityananda Scandal. Police Seize Indicting Material. Why No Raids On Sathya
2010-04-25 23:34:00 Why are Indian authorities and the Indian media so selective in exposing errant religious figures in that country. Anyone who knows a wide cross-section of Indians is well aware of the great shame they feel for the corrupt institutions in their country? Non-resident Indians (NRI's) are freely able to read exposing investigations in major western media such as the BBC, Times of London, Daily Telegraph, Guardian, and newspapers in Europe, Canada, Australia, etc., but are prohibited from doing so in their own country. In short, why is Nityananda being investigated and not Sathya Sai Baba too. In short, someone far more powerful and influential than Nityananda, and who commands almost unimaginable wealth?
Typical Testimony of Sathya Sai Baba?s Sex Abuse of Young Males
2010-04-10 23:01:00 Since circa 2000, and up to very recent times, former devotee and other networked critics of Sathya Sai Baba have had to read – and also hear directly such disturbing testimonies as the following. The primary witnesses and their families come from many countries round the world. One of the many components of our support ...
SaBoy Scouts of America ? Sex Abuse Revelations. Who Next?
2010-03-30 23:31:00 Now the Boy Scouts o America is under scrutiny for its practices in dealing - and not dealing - with the sexual abuse issue. In recent articles at 'Call For Media and Government Investigation of Sathya Sai Baba', I have been pointing to cases in other areas which have, in many cases, taken years of persistent activism by those who have exposed appalling levels of cover up by powerful institutions. Typically found throughout all these institutions are the themes of psychological denial by the generality of followers and deliberate denial by those authorities who know the facts and go to great lengths to hide them. The amount of denigration, name-calling, distortion of what is being said, shunning, libel and defamation of those who have stood forth to reveal the facts, are also typical. They fly completely in the face of the professed ethical and spiritual teachings of those instituitions, which in many cases are unexceptionable.
Sexual Abuse Priests. What?! The Pope Never Knew?
2010-03-28 01:37:00 Some international commentators opine that there is a net of terrible revelation closing in on Pope Benedict XVI. One revelation after another indicates that he has for many years known about the endemic sexual abuses, both of children and adults, happening within the Roman Catholic Church. And that he has, all along, failed with any probity to act. To the contrary, he has called, along, for secrecy. (I shall shortly turn to the mounting allegations of massive cover up of sexual abuse by the Boy Scout's of America) If any should think that the Vatican has not been for centuries, and is to this day, a heavy hitter in the murky world of realpolitik, they have not paused to read even the standard historical accounts.
Why Nithyananda Sex Scandal Investigations and Not A Sathya Sai Baba Probe
2010-03-26 02:50:00 The Nithyananda sex scandal unfolds in India. One might well wonder - although a great many Indians who know the corruption that pervades the power elites in India will not be puzzled - why there have been decades of news blanketing in that country of of reports that threaten the power and prestige of Sathya Sai Baba.
Roman Catholics? Deep Concern At Pope?s Apology. But He Is Way Ahead Of Ind
2010-03-23 04:57:00 It is enormously instructive to watch the unfolding saga of papal apology for clergy sexual abuse. Large numbers of both Roman Catholics and others round the world have expressed deep dissatisfaction with the Pope's apology. They say that it goes nowhere far enough, and does not address acute issues of crime and punishment.
BBC Transcript ?The Secret Swami? (Sathya Sai Baba?s Frauds Exposed)
2010-03-21 02:09:00 Former devotee and other writers critical of Sathya Sai Baba are experiencing a marked upsurge in interest. Among this, there are scholarly interests new to us, and the distinction in this quarter ranges from post-graduate to professorial. One of the difficulties scholars, journalists and other investigators have with the Sathya Sai Organization is that it is highly secretive. The BBC documentary was well-named: The Secret Swami. Many who have not the remotest connection with those former devotees who have in the past testified are finding their own experiences chronicled at this blogsite and other sites of former devotees and other critics of Sathya Sai Baba and his cult. Raising an international or national class action litigation would have its own sets of difficulties, but as increased activity occurs, any who are interested in seeing the worldwide exposure of one of history's most powerful religious betrayals is welcome to contact Robert Priddy (a retired philosopher and so...
Standing Up To Cultic Monoliths. (Sathya Sai Baba Organization Example)
2010-03-16 23:33:00 Confronted by the smallest questioning of Sathya Sai Baba, his defenders commonly refer to instances such as the miracles he is supposed to have performed. Or indeed those phenomena which have happened beyond his physical presence but been related to him in some way. Yet there is much proof that he routinely fakes these performances. Many of his devotees know that he has bungled various "miracles"; however, they take refuge in such notions as that he is only testing their faith. They will not examine the large corpus of evidence that exposes him, as the BBC did with its cameras in 2004. See: BBC Cameras Catch Sai Baba Cheating With Gold Sivalingam.
