Relationship - Emotional Infidelity
2008-04-17 09:31:00
I want to know what everyone thinks about wife leaving 6 times in 3 years of marriage. She had lived with and dated her x-boyfriend for 10 years. Everytime she has left, I know of her borrowing money from him twice and visiting his house twice. I am sure their is more. She has been going to the bars because that was her life before I met her and she has been there with him I'm sure. She left again 2 weeks ago and as soon as she left she had contacted him and met him for 38 minutes at the Sheriffs Dept. There was continuous contacts by cell phone and I am sure they have met up again. We have been through alot of counseling and she swears that she hasn't cheated. She said that she would take a lie detector test. Ok, if she hasn't cheated like she said, what about an emotional affair? How about abandonment? I found out that she has been calling him periodically over the last couple months. Any advice? Biblically speaking? -JSM To maintain a relationship, people need to follow a co...

Happy couples do not cheatMost people believe that if a man cheats on his wife he is living in an unhappy marriage. This often implies that a woman is mostly responsible for her husband's unhappiness, being the reason why her man cheats. However, many psychologists say that many partners who have wonderful sex life and love each other nevertheless do not refuse to have an extramarital affair. Interesting enough, more than a 50 percent of men often claim about living in a happy marriage. If you have an extramarital affair that means that you don't love your partnerAnother common misconception about infidelity is that you might think that the only fact that your partner loves you will save your marriage from extramarital affair. Dealing with Online Infidelity
2008-02-07 02:18:00
Online infidelity is more prevalent than you think. This includes chatting with unknown faces and watching or seeing porno. This is a real issue and it is completely addictive. Unless you stop now it is going to be a real issue developing into a big monster that is going to swallow your relationship, your friends and family. Ask yourself if your spouse has the same tools that you have to cheat as well and can you take it easy if they do? Infidelity is not worth the few hours you get to enjoy. Soon you have to spend hours spinning out webs of lies and more webs of lies to protect the lies. Finally you fall down because of the lies you spun out. The lies are more damaging than the act itself. You need to get a counselor and start talking about this problem. Deal with this now before it is too late. The other side of the coin is finding out if your spouse is cheating. This is a double edged sword which can mend or break a relationship. There are sophisticated tools out there...
High Infidelity
2008-02-02 16:16:00
I am sitting comfortably in the living room on this peaceful day, looking out the snow slowly melting, vanishing from the roofs, trees, and roads. I have had just finished a quick online chatting with a dear friend in Indonesia, which leads me to a simple summary: fidelity is almost nonexistent in Jakarta.I have heard so many stories about people I know who are engaged in affairs. I have heard the stories from both sides: from those who should have committed to monogamous relationships but keep playing around, and from those who are officially single but playing around with committed persons. I hear stories about girls being mistresses and guys having one (or more). I hear stories about a guy seeing someone's fiancee, and a girl who occasionally sleeps with a married man. I hear stories about a girl bringing a new bag that cost five times her salary, bought by her married boss. I hear stories of a male colleague who was being sexually harassed by a married lady, and everyone thinks...

News - Man Found Wife at a Brothel
2008-01-10 10:24:00
WARSAW (Reuters) - A Polish man got the shock of his life when he visited a brothel and spotted his wife among the establishment's employees. Polish tabloid Super Express said the woman had been making some extra money on the side while telling her husband she worked at a store in a nearby town. "I was dumfounded. I thought I was dreaming," the husband told the newspaper. The couple, married for 14 years, are now divorcing, the newspaper reported. Couple psychotheray ain't going to help, but this issue creates a good divorce mentality, with both feeling that the other is at fault, "you're the one who did it." Some divorces are better than others. On one side, the wife is making money out of her hobby, so that her man could use it for his own hobby. Gist of the story is that. Woman rules, but man is what woman needs. Wait, or is it the other way around?
Infidelity # 2
2008-01-09 02:15:00
Came across to this site and read about this news. Maybe it's old news but still interesting to talk about. The reason why he divorce his wife is because he's in love with other woman and they already have a daughter together.I also heard about a friend of mine is waiting for final decision of her divorce process of 10 years marriage. Reason why, her husband is in love with other woman. He really wants to be caught because he put his girlfriend's picture in his mobile phone and he tattooed his girlfriend's name on his arm.My friend finally acknowledged that her husband has introduced his girlfriend to his mom and also his family knew about that girl, so she's the one who doesn't have any clue about what's going on. The main reason why they married at the first place was love, but why along the way the love disappear? And even though the love is still in there it involves someone else. How come the passionate love can vanish just like that? What makes a marriage could last...

Infidelity as a Route to Madness
2007-11-04 21:52:00
I haven’t always relayed things chronologically in the Story of S. Just to highlight how bizarrely I was behaving whilst S was in Australia; let me clarify the timelines at this point.During this period, I was:• struggling to decide whether or not I wanted to leave W for S;• conducting a brief affair with the MILF; and• attending counselling with my wife, W, ostensibly with the intention of saving our marriage. The contradictions that lay behind these activities were pretty much lost on me at the time. A sane person would say that I should have broken off all contact with S and that the last thing I should have been doing was starting another affair. Today, I would agree, but back then I think I was deranged. One thing I would say is that I then believed I was far more emotionally resilient than I have subsequently found myself to be. I suspect that rather than facing up to things properly I was distracting myself by seeing the MILF.There may also have been a self-destruct thi...
Lust in Translation: Exploring infidelity
2007-11-02 17:55:00
Today I happened to hear Pamela Druckerman being interviewed on NPR about her book, Lust in Translation: The Rules of Infidelity from Tokyo to Tennessee, which is about infidelity around the world, and it was quite fascinating. Basically, what Druckerman found, as she describes it in her book, is that everyone is unfaithful all the time everywhere, but that only Americans make a big deal out of it. Big surprise there (holier-than-thou Americans of a certain stripe always trying to suppress basic human nature). I keep telling people that humans are naturally polygamous, but no one ever listens to me... Read more about it here, and listen to it here. ONLINE: THE NEW INFIDELITY
2007-10-25 02:32:00
ONLINE: THE NEW INFIDELITYIn recent years, infidelity has begun root in new ways, due to the advent and growth of the Internet and the entry of women into professions once dominated by men. Many experts are noticing that both in the workplace and on the Internet, "a new crisis of infidelity" is unfolding. The new type of infidelity involves people who do not seek out extramarital affairs, but are unintentionally moving beyond platonic friendships to romantic involvements.Maheu and Subotnik (2001) explain that the Internet provides an escape in the form of cybersex and so-called "virtual infidelity" to millions of people who do not know how to improve their difficult or unsatisfying relationships or whose religious beliefs do not permit divorce. "They may find themselves financially, geographically or emotionally stuck. Whatever their reasons, they seem to be hungering for easy access to companionship and sex" The Internet has made it fast and easy to find and connect with others, an...

Emotional Infidelity: A Love Affair or Just Friends?
2007-09-25 02:05:00
EMOTIONAL INFIDELITYby Dr. Robert Huizenga, The Infidelity Coach A common plea: But, we're "just friends." However the "emotional connection" is quite obvious by the amount of time spent in communication and the "vibes" that are set off. These emotional connections often arise at work or in a social context in which working intensively toward a common goal consumes energy. Here are a few observations of the "just friends" emotional affair:1. This person often struggles knowing where to draw the line. S/he often throws him/herself into something 100%. Other aspects of his/her life may suffer or be ignored. There often is a lack of personal balance between family, work, self care.2. He/she struggles with intimacy. (I want to be close to someone, but don't like intimacy.) The "just friends" emotional affair means neither spouse nor OP (other person) ever get "intimate." Neither relationship is fully consummated or has potential for growth.3. Of course the "just friends" comment means e...

First of all, thank you all for your open, honest responses to my post.Especially,SaintlyDevil ,Wise One ,idlemind Moksha A.R.Karthick ,mdaffodils inktank and Arunesh. This post has raised a lot of interesting questions. The reality is that infidelity is most often a symptom of internal conflict within the cheating spouse which has little to with the non-cheating partner. Here is a familiar example;  The husband (or wife.I am taking the example of a husband) doubting his self-worth and possibly tired of routine married life, becomes flattered by the attention of another, often younger, woman. Not only is the appeal of something new very exciting, but this new woman tends to have a “sympathetic ear” that he thinks his wife lacks. As a result, he often takes the path of least resistance and finds it easier to be with this more “fun” or “understanding” woman. Eventually, he may get divorced and even marry the new woman. Then, after a ...

Polls show that although 90% of married people disapprove of extramarital relationships, statistics  indicate that 15% of wives and 25% of husbands have experienced extramarital intercourse. These numbers increase by 20% when emotional affairs and sexual relationships without intercourse are included. Another source, The Monogamy Myth, authored by Peggy Vaughan, approximates that 60% of husbands and 40% of wives will have an affair at some time in their marriage! These statistics are shocking, ...

The Emotional Cost of Infidelity
2007-04-03 02:13:00
By Pam GerhardtNearly four years ago Linda Shafer, divorced and living alone with her dog in Oklahoma City, logged onto her computer after a long day of social work and entered the world of Internet chat rooms. One man sparked her interest. They started a private conversation."This wasn't the usual 'how much do you weigh' or 'what color is your hair?' " says Shafer, a social worker with the federal government. "This was different."As it turned out, he lived close by. After a few weeks of intense, personal dialogue, he suggested they meet for lunch. He was married with children."This was the stupid part," says Shafer, her voice soft, kind, a voice that troubled families--her clients--can trust. "I thought it would be harmless just to meet a married man for lunch. Well, I met him."Shafer didn't know it at the time, but she had already entered stage three of an extramarital affair that would last 3 1/2 years, bringing her moments of bliss, hours of sorrow.Nearly all affairs--yes,...
