Interview With Pankaj Agarwal CEO Of Clickindia.com – Insights On Onl
2009-08-14 11:21:00
We caught up with Pankaj Agarwal CEO of Clickindia.com, one of the leading horizontal classifieds websites of India. This is one rare story how a website can grow without any funding or a big budget. Q) Can you brief us about the traction on your website and how you achieved that? Clickindia was started in April 2007 with a team of 5 people. We have, since beginning, focused on maximizing returns to the users, which in our case is responses per ad posted. Since this is a self funded company, we didn’t have enough cash to spend and gain traction. This turned out to be a boon for us because we were always level headed and focused on product development rather than just create a loud noise in the market. By end of 2007, we integrated mobile with the website and launched innovative features, like ad posting via mobile, lead by sms, a mobile based site http://wap.clickindia.com-/ & now sms based push to top service. We have always listened to our users as they are the best critic...

Insights On Mobile Advertising - Interview With Naveen Tewari - CEO, MKhoj
2009-05-25 08:41:00
We interviewed Naveen Tewari - Founder & CEO of Mkhoj and questioned him about the mobile advertising market in India and how his company Mkhoj was progressing in the same. What according to you is the current market size for mobile advertising in India? (Sms + WAP/Gprs + Bluetooth)? Reports say that WAP/GPRS market is about 75 - 100 crore (INR) in India however we have no clear figures on SMS/Blutooth segment. What is the expected growth rate for mobile ads in next 3 years? Factors such as the booming mobile market, advent of smart phones at competative prices have witnessed phenomenal growth in the mobile industry. Wireless users in India recently breached the 362 million mark. The Indian Cellular Association  expects 200 million people to sign on to the Internet with their mobile phones by 2010. We expect a Growth Rate of around  50-60% year on year at least for the next three years in the mobile advertising industry. How would the share of ad revenues be between sms, gprs...

I've heard of living at the center, but what aboutleaving the center of the center?Flying toward thankfulness, you become..... the rare birdwith one wing made of fear, and one of hope.- Rumi, ColemanIn the Quran, the idea of fear also has its counterpart of greater reward, treasure what Rumi talks about in his saying, "Our greatest fears are like dragons guarding our greatest treasures."Perhaps the wisdom of Rumi is better explained in another of his saying. "God turns you from one feeling to another and teaches by means of opposites, so that you will have two wings to fly, not one."In Quranic context fear can be more appropriately viewed as awe of the Great Majesty of the Divine. For the gnostics, saints, sufis or mystics the fear of God is not the ordinary fear of the common folk. For mystics the awe is associated with the Jalal Face of God, the Face of Overtaking Majesty and their fear is nothing but losing the grace and love of the Beloved.Nay they are the Friends of God, no fear ...
RSA Offers new Insights into Security and Innovation
2008-10-01 02:00:00
Today RSA, The Security Division of EMC, released the latest research and insights from IDC and the Security for Business Innovation Council on the relationship – and disconnect – between security and business innovation. The IDC report centers on the fact that 80 percent of organizations worldwide confirm that security fears are indeed responsible for stifling business innovation. IDC also found that although 80 percent of CEOs believe their security teams are being held formally accountable for their contributions to business growth and innovation, only 44 percent of security leaders believe they are being measured on their contributions to innovation. This finding points to a surprising lack of alignment between the expectations of C-level management and the priorities of security professionals...

College football is only a few weeks away, and needless to say we're stoked. It's a great time of year to be alive, as the days are cooling but the sacred fields of green are soon to be heating up. To kick off what will be many bits on my favorite sport, here's an interesting little bit from Alabama TE Nick Walker about how Bama players are buying into Coach Saban's system.I had lunch a few weeks ago with a few players on the team, and this confirms what they were saying. Fun stuff.________________Senior tight end Nick Walker, one of the most colorful quotes on the team, was talking about leadership, saying that last year, "Coach (Nick Saban) had just got in and we had a couple guys who really weren't buying into what coach was trying to sell. This year, everybody is buying in to it." As an example, he cited the fact that everyone showed up for summer conditioning. "We've never really had all the guys show up before," he said. Walker was asked, is everyone just holding eac...

Larry Losness spoke today at the 2nd inaugural meeting of the CCIM Silicon Valley group. Some interesting points from his presentation on apartment properties:Only 30 duplexes closed escrow in 2008 so far - 495 had closed in 2005Only 22 fourplexes closed escrow in 2008 so far - 316 in 2005188 duplexes on the market in the county102 fourplexes on the market in the countyRents going upVacancy at 3.2% average across the valleyHousing affordability gap of rent vs. mortgage is the spread between average rent of $1,500 and average mortgage of $4,000. This causes many people in the valley to rent till they pair up (get married) or till they rise in the corporate ranks and make more income. Either way, it makes for longer term tenants not moving in to purchase housing till their mid-thirties or later. Good for landlords. The rest you can extrapolate!

However, I've been an even longer-term fan of his father, Jim McCamant (ccount/click.php?id=1889), whose research I've followed since the early 1980s.In a rare -- and fascinating -- interview in their Medical Technology Stock Letter (ccount/click.php?id=1889), John turned to his father for his insights into the current state of the biotech market as well as some of his current favorite stocks in the sector."In volatile times like the ones we have been experiencing over the last few months, it is increasingly critical to draw upon experience. If at all possible, and it usually is, it is very important to put things into historical perspective. "We recently sat down with James McCamant. John McCain's "senior moment" insights
2008-03-25 19:09:00
When John McCain opens his mouth about Iraq, he keeps parroting Bush administration talking points.Given his recent Al Qaeda gaffes, McCain doesn't inspire confidence. When he talks you would think he was referring to some war movie with a divinely sanctioned plot that guarantees America always wins in the end. In the meantime his attitude seems to be that poorly understood details will kinda ... sort themselves out.He keeps bleating "we're succeeding in Iraq", even though the reality in Iraq doesn't exactly endorse his optimism. In the face of criticism, he added recently "We're succeeding. I don't care what anyone says."The Carnegie Endowment for International Peace released a sombre report on Iraq that offers much needed realism:"Despite the presence of over 160,000 U.S. troops in Iraq at the end of 2007 and an improvement in the security situation, Iraq remains an unstable, violent, and deeply divided country, indeed a failed state ... Insights from Cracked.com

Wow. Tonight my coworkers were challenging my temper and my sanity, so it feels good to find this article on things about the 21st century that are making us miserable on the ever-amusing Cracked.com.Humor means a lot in life - there is no opposite of laughter! However, getting over someone in your workplace who is less than intelligent is definitely a test of your character, and I was glad to forget all about him/them and that particular (hopefully short-lived) occupation upon arriving home.It was wonderful. My wife does help a lot.Something else that helps is knowing the man in question really, REALLY did not want to be working tonight - he'd rather be out partying. Hm.On another interesting note, the other day I learned where Albania is. And that I will never, EVER visit there. Hooray!
