An Introspective Meme
2008-02-27 17:23:00
The Prairie Preacher has tagged me with this interesting meme. My Own Woman created it and these are her instructions:1. List ONE desire that you have if you could live in a perfect world.2. Then send a link to ONE person who will then copy your desire and add ONE desire of his own that he/she would want in his/her perfect world.3. He/She will then link ONE person who will add his/her perfect world item.....and on and on. Make sure you leave the name of the person you linked to everyone can see who you linked and what the perfect world will contain."Because this meme hasn’t gone too far yet, I thought I’d include all participants’ descriptions of their perfect world."In My Own Woman's perfect world people of all sexes, creeds, race, and sexual orientation would live in perfect harmony with each other. Hate crimes against such people would be a note in a history book so as not to be repeated. "We love Shawn, the Prairie Preacher, and here’s what he added:“In The Prairie Pr...

Introspective - Relationships
2007-12-29 06:47:00
Over the last week I have read a lot of blog entries that have given me some perspective in relation to my life. Whether it be posts about relationships or those that discuss their children and responsibilities. Ok, that’s broad but it all has given me pause to think about my life and what I ...

Everything passes by
2007-07-14 10:24:00
Everything in live is temporary. Darkness of the night; or a bright day. Even sunrise is temporary; so is sunset. So if things are going good, enjoy it because it won’t last forever. And if things are going bad, don’t worry. Because it won’t last forever either. Everything passes by.
Introspective

Introspective, look within. Don’t look for excuse or external forces that is beyond our control. You don’t have to be stuck in a moment and can’t get out of it. Well, if you see that you are stuck in a situation and heading toward a dead end, just draw a deep breath and be totally present. Accept the ...
A Blog Introspective

Sorry for the complete lack of posting in the recent weeks, loyal few. I started a new job, and am currently in the last throes of planning my wedding (you have no idea how exhausting it is to watch your fiancee plan all the important details, while you extensively muse over your 'homework,' trying to decide if the song from Ferris Bueller [the one that goes ooooohhhh, yea...doodoodoo] or ZZ
Introspective Anglos and Soviets Versus Forward-Looking Mujahideen
2007-04-09 00:59:00
April 9, 2007. While browsing video tributes to soldiers who fought in Afghanistan I started to see a pattern. With a small number of exceptions, the most popular videos for different nationalities fell, although not always neatly, into certain style categories. The first up are the Soviet soldiers. The video I chose as representative simply says “we were there” (before degenerating into fictionalized violence from the Russian movie 9th Company). The Soviet/Russian style in this video focuses on the group. The video doesn’t name people or focus long on individuals, and when it does they are anonymous. Perhaps it’s hard to focus on the individual when losses were over 15,000. Also of note, Afghans are totally absent from any humanizing role in the video. The Canadian style is very somber and introspective. The focus is on the tragedy of human loss. Some of the videos even name all the fatalities. This video is representative of the other Canuck vids. The Br...

I've been thinking about things today, things I'd like to tell you all about myself. I am Wiccan. Yah, I know, you all already KNEW I'm a witch, right? LOL Seriously, though, I know that conjures up images of satanic shape changing evil people in some of you. That's not us at ALL. First of all, we're Wiccan, NOT satanists. It's a whole different thing. We don't worship satan in any way, shape, or form. We believe in a God and a Goddess, the Goddess being the main being, as opposed to Christianity's male domination. We don't believe we can turn people into toads or any such thing. We're Wiccan, not Voodoo. However, some of us do combine religions. I once knew a catholic witch, and if you think about it, it's NOT all that different. Wicca has rituals involving prayer (usually to nature or the Goddess or both) and so does catholicism. Wicca has a female figure, so does catholicism (Mary). They're both highly ritualistic religions. We don't sacrifice live toads or little ch...
