Online Car rental booking portal Taxiguide.in has received Rs. 25 Lakh (US$ 50 Thousand) from Angel Investor Anand R P. Though Anand is the  investment director at Squadron Capital, he has made the contribution in his personal capacity. The company was started 2 years ago & the funds will now be used “for expanding operations and meeting working capital requirements” shared co-founder Ananthakrishnan. The founders are confident of the firm’s success & are anticipating a series a round of funding to secure around US$ 2 Million. The portal currently operates on similar platform as Olacabs.in. Then, inevitably, my wife will hand me a red envelope and it will dawn on me that once again, I have totally forgotten Valentine's Day. On Wall Street, anyone worth listening to has a secretary to take care of the spouse on Valentine's Day. What they are worried about is getting their SEC filings completed. Every Investor Should Consider Owning This "Forever" Stock
2012-02-01 19:00:00
Investors can very easily get caught up in quarterly earnings reports, rejoicing when their stocks report good results and second-guessing their picks when things go awry. It's important to remember, though, that investing is a long-term endeavor and that quarterly outcomes are far less important than how a stock performs for longer periods — several years, five years, a decade… and beyond. Companies that persevere and nicely reward shareholders for many decades are known at StreetAuthority as "Forever Stocks." Sure, these stocks may have their ups and downs, but in my experience, Forever Stocks are usually worth holding, well, forever. 3M Co. (NYSE: MMM) is one of my favorite Forever Stocks. Why You Should Be A Penny Stock Investor

This is fine for people who are planning a far-off retirement.

My Three Biggest Mistakes as a Real Estate Investor

2011-11-11 06:00:00
The Home Equity Sales Act might provide a basis for a lawsuit for some California sellers of short sales. This law protects sellers of homes in foreclosure when they sell their personal residence to an investor. Many real estate agents and their investors use the wrong purchase contracts and do not give the sellers 5 days to rescind. I see it over and over. If you sold your home to an investor while it was in foreclosure in California, you might want to talk to a lawyer. If you want your house back, it's possible that you might qualify to get it. The Gold Investor?s Biggest Risk
2011-11-09 17:39:00
By Jeff Clark, Casey Research While we’re convinced that our gold and silver investments will pay off, they don’t come without risk. What do you suppose is the biggest risk we face? Another 2008-style selloff? Gold stocks never breaking out of their funk? Maybe a depression that slams our standard of living? Though those things are possible, we at Casey Research don’t see that as your greatest threat: "Your biggest risk is not that gold or silver may fall in price. Nor is it that gold stocks could take longer to catch fire than we think. Not even the prospect of the Greater Depression. No, your biggest risk is political. As bankrupt governments get increasingly desperate for revenue, any . . . → Read More: The Gold Investor’s Biggest Risk
Facebook’s Early Investor Accel Rolls Back Major India Plans
2011-09-26 12:31:00
Premier Venture Capitalist firm Accel Partners, best known for their initial investment in Facebook, Macromedia, Spotify, walmart.com, etc. has decided to rollback plans of a $400 million seed capital in India. Based on fears over poor current market conditions and increased competition among private equity investors in the country. The company has invested in upcoming Indian startups like Flipkart.com and Myntra.com. Accel’s withdrawal comes as a mild surprise as they had made serious preparations by placing bigshot managers from leading fund management companies like Goldman Sachs, DE Shaw, etc. in their India growth fund board. Accel’s plan through the proposed fund was to invest larger amounts of money (upto $50 million) in already mature but upcoming businesses in India. Offical news is that though this plan has been shelved, Accel will continue to make smaller (about $10 million) early stage investments in “category-defining”- startup firms in the count...

Builder Model Home Sale and Leaseback: Investor Benefits | Part 2 of 3
2010-10-29 14:37:00
In Part 1, we discussed the concept of purchasing and leasing back a model home and the benefits to the builder / developer. In Part 2, we dig into why many investors love the concept. Next week, we will discuss do’s and dont’s and points to remember when negotiating an agreement. In essence, investors can buy a fully-equipped, well-maintained home builder?s model at a discounted price. Then, for two to four years (sometimes longer or shorter) the builder leases the home back from you to use as a sales office. Many builders will pay 10+ percent of the purchase price as annual lease rents. In short, the models are brand new and the lease payments are locked in at the get-go. When the lease is over, the investor with a properly negotiated lease agreement will have a well-maintained house to sell or lease again. Here are some of the reasons some investors love the program. When reading through these, be thinking about ways to address these benefits in a sales and leas...
(3) Reasons you should be a Realtor and Real Estate Investor
2010-10-27 20:05:00
They say you shouldn?t eat at least an hour before you go swimming. They also say that two wrongs don?t make a right, that you get what you pay for, you can?t win them all, nobody ever said life was fair, what you don?t know won?t hurt you and there?s no such thing as a free lunch. So who are they? I?ve gone swimming immediately following a big dinner and managed to avoid drowning. And, last week I did get a free lunch paid for by the marketing rep from my title company. I think they are all full of bull fertilizer.Chances are if you are a real estate investor or are considering getting into real estate investing you?ve wondered whether or not you should get your real estate license. What do they say about that? When I first started investing in real estate in 2001 I talked to several attorneys and they all advised against it. Why? Two reasons ? disclosure and agency. As a Realtor you are held to a higher standard and therefore open yourself up to potential problems if a real...

Its history indicates that and according to this article, so will its future. Like so many new to the investing game, China seems to think the maxim is buy high sell low, rather than the reverse.
