2007-10-03 19:06:00 LAHORE: The former captain of Pakistan Cricket team Inzamamul Haq decided late Tuesday to get retirement from test cricket as well. According to Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) sources, Inzamam made up his mind in this connection in his meeting with PCB officials three days back.According to his understanding with PCB, the test match against South Africa being played at Gaddafi Stadium from October 8 will be the last test of his career.A former captain is said to have played a vital role in striking this understanding with PCB.According to the understanding, Inzamam will make a formal announcement to this effect in a press conference on Friday.Besides, PCB will organize a farewell ceremony in honour of the former captain, where he would be given Rs10 million.Inzamamul Haq has to his test career 8813 runs in 119 test matches. Inzy retires from ODI cricket
2007-03-19 18:24:00 The Paksitani captain Inzamam ul-Haq has decided to retire from ODI cricket and to leave the captaincy of test cricket after the world cup loss against weak Ireland team. His retirement was almost fixed though it couldn't be his happy ending. His whole career could get a great happy starting in world cup cricket 1992 but ended sadly in 2007 world cup. Hew had rescued his team against New Zealand when it required 60 runs of 32 balls in semifinals of world cup 1992. His last ODI match will be against zimbabwe. He decided his retirement after a talk to is family. Inzamam played legendary ODI as well as test cricket. He scored 11702 runs in his 377 - matches career including 10 hundreds and 83 fifties. In test matches also he has scored 8813 runs in 119 Tests, with a highest score of 329 against New Zealand at Lahore. Maybe he wants to score 10,000 runs in test. Hope that this great player will have happy ending in his tests.
