Clinton-Obama Spat provokes ?1789 contribution campaign,? Alan Brody makes

It is from numberless diverse acts of courage and belief that human history is shaped. Each time a man stands up for an ideal, or acts to improve the lot of others, or strikes out against injustice, he sends forth a tiny ripple of hope, and crossing each other from a million different centers of ...
A Deeper Look Into the Iowa Caucus Results
2008-01-06 09:36:00

Bill Moyers: On the Iowa Caucus

by Geezer Power …7:55 pm Interview with Kathleen Hall Jamieson Bill Moyers All of a sudden, the political landscape has changed. Iowa Caucus Election 2008 my Thoughts on This Winners Democrat Barack Obama
2008-01-05 23:55:00
I am very into this election of watching everything I can with learning about candidates. I am independent voter who will be voting for a democrat in the election of 2008. On the democratic side, I am not sure whom I will vote for I like Barack Obama and Hillary Clinton. I am very interested in both sides of the race with candidates is important to watch. I am surprised by winner of republican Mike Huckabee had less money than most yet he came out ahead. It just shows it takes more than a bunch of money to win at a caucus. The winner for democrats was Barack Obama I am happy for him I have to admit he does have something special about him. Many people have said he reminds them of John F Kennedy. I agree Obama has that something special can?t explain with words but know something is so great about him. Now onto New Hampshire Caucus. - Shop Political T-Shirts and More at CafePress
2008 presidential elections. Iowa caucus

After watching Iowa caucuses. 1/5/2008 By Joel Lawson see my profile at www.integrityrealty.net joel@joellawson.com I can hardly believe I just typed in the date of 2008. But we're here, with elections looming at the end of this year. And watching the candidates both Democratic and Republican as a real estate broker and small businessman, I'm trying to distinguish how this election will affect me and my business. Although I am a Republican. I'll start with the Democratic candidates. John Edwards is a trial lawyer as a real estate broker in a litigious society, I already have reason not to vote for him. Hillary Clinton is a lawyer and is married to Bill Clinton, two strikes against her right off the bat. But seriously I fear that she will affect me negatively both as a real estate broker and a small business person. I'll start by saying, in all fairness, Hillary was badly abused, while her husband was in office over her efforts...
Politics: Iowa Caucus Losses for Anti-Gaming Politicians
2008-01-05 21:01:00
This will just quickly sum up that Hildawg and Mitt Romney both lost in upsets in the Iowa Caucuses, the first round of the primaries (though they're not technically primaries until New Hampshire Tuesday). My previous post on the subject should fill you in on their stances on video game legislation. The candidates that won, Barack Obama and Mike Huckabee, both have specific factors increasing their video game, uh, street cred. Obama is cool simply because he sounded the least willing to pass legislation to ban M-rated video games for minors, though still not exactly defending their right to play them.Huckabee, though I don't support him at all, has at least documented proof that he has played Guitar Hero (along with real guitar). The gamepolitics.com article here talks about it, though the doctored photo is a bit weird. Huckabee did not respond to the survey from my previous post, however, so his stance on video game legislation is unknown.Anyway, sort of good news for the politic...

Barack Obama’s Journey Continues ~ Iowa Caucus Victory Speech
2008-01-05 06:34:00
In order to be President of America, one has to appeal to the majority population. It appears that race does play a major part, in America, hence a strident black politician, with views which would appeal to the majority of black voters, might not appeal to enough white voters for him to be President. Obama ...

Thank you very much. You know, I wasn't sure that I would ever be able to love a state as much as I love my home state of Arkansas. But tonight, I love Iowa a whole lot.Over the past several months, my family and I have had the marvelous joy and privilege of getting to know many of you. And it's been an incredible honor.I was thinking last night that some of the friendships that we've forged here in the last several months are friendships that will last a lifetime. And we didn't know how this was going to turn out tonight. But I knew one thing: I would be forever grateful to the people that I met, the ones who voted for me, even the ones who didn't, who still treated me with respect and who gave me their attention, who h...

Huckabee Takes Iowa, Unfortunately
2008-01-04 17:30:00
It’s official, Mike Huckabee wins the Iowa Republican caucus, and it’s also official that the jubilation surrounding his victory speech is reminiscent of a Benny Hinn sermon. One could easily get the feeling that Huckabee, during this speech, was preparing to lay hands on the crowd or begin speaking in tongues. Perhaps he ...

Barack Obama Wins Iowa Caucus
2008-01-04 14:12:00
Sen. Barack Obama won the Iowa Caucus on Thursday night (Jan. 3), the first major test for the race for the 2008 Democratic nomination for President of the United States.   The win dealt a blow to Clinton?s aspirations to be the first woman to claim president, while seriously boosting Obama?s chance to be the first African-American leader of the country.   "They said this day would never come," Obama told a cheering crowd in Des Moines, Iowa. "They said our sights were set too high?years...(read more)
A progressive analysis of the Iowa Caucus from Comrade Chad

The Iowans' chug-a-lugging of consumerist propaganda was a disgusting sight. They also lacked one decent comic book store. Nelson wanted me to post on the facade of freedom brought to you by the good people at Haliburton and Exxon, the Iowa KKKaucases, so here I am. Before I start, I'd like to prove my commitment to social justice by reminding everybody in my dorm that I forewent a killer X-Box tournament to fly to Iowa from Los Angeles (thanks, dad) and support the Green party. No Iowans may have showed up to our fluorescent-illuminated motel room, but we planted a seed, bother. I'm sure our cause will grow as more people become aware- the sheeple here just aren't ready yet. I'll discuss all the great solutions we came up with later on my own blog, Bushisntonlylikehitlerhesworsre-.blogspot.com. Right now, I'll slum with the mainstream: Gravel and Kucinich Gazing at me through my glossy Mac is the news that kkkorporate interests this evening conspired against two valian...
Iowa Caucus Winners: Obama, Huckabee
2008-01-04 08:22:00
The antiquated Iowa caucus is over and the winners are Barack Obama for the Democrats and Mike Huckabee for the Republicans.  Both were clear cut winners with over 30% of the votes. Hillary Clinton finished a disappointing third, with John Edwards claiming the runner-up spot of the Democrats. Rudy Giuliani did not campaign in Iowa and has been ...

018. On the Iowa Caucus
2008-01-04 06:50:00
I know that the race is far from over. I’m actually glad about this, because frankly, the Republican frontrunner scares me. Mike Huckabee on the issues: Opposes: Roe v. Wade, stem cell research, banning assault weapons, requiring background checks for gun purchases, same sex marriage, same sex civil unions, withdrawal from Iraq and universal health care. Supports: the death penalty, No Child Left Behind, ANWR oil drilling, the Patriot Act, Guantanamo, a fence across the Mexican border, a troop surge in Iraq, and a Constitutional ban on same-sex marriages. This man stands for everything I oppose, and opposes everything I stand for. I fear for the future of America if Mike Huckabee, a former Southern Baptist preacher, is elected to the Presidency. From his own website, I quote the following: My faith is my life - it defines me. My faith doesn’t influence my decisions, it drives them. For example, when it comes to the environment, I believe in being a good steward of th...

It offers a better breakdown of the results. I thought a Des Moines station would have better coverage, but Kansas City beats it by a long shot. — Looks like Fred is gonna pull a thrid place finish out of this one, which I hoped he could before. It may help him little in New Hampshire, but following that comes South Carolina, where he has lead for some time. — These Fox News folks are doing their best not to mention Fred Thompson. 2008 Iowa Caucus Winners
2008-01-03 21:21:00
The frozen Midwestern state of Iowa has been inundated by presidential candidates from both political parties and their associated entourages of media, aides and campaign workers for almost two solid years.   This circus appears in this mostly rural state, seemingly overnight, every election cycle and, immediately after caucuses, it disappears like a vapor. It happens every time but it's always a jolt.   No more hotel bars full of reporters in Des Moines. No more campaign caravans running up and down the back roads at break-neck speeds. No more prima-donna candidates piling into every decent restaurant and cafe so they can pretend to eat the favorite local sandwich and stiff a waitress out of a tip. Most importantly, no more campaign ads from Hillaboma or Romkaby. (At least until October)   So, after the thousands of gallons of coffee, hot chocolate and probably some adult beverages are consumed at the caucuses. After the neighbors and friends go through the k...

Why Do People Hate Hillary Clinton?
2008-01-02 13:05:00
Although I rarely discuss politics, now is as good a time as any since the Iowa caucus is on January 3, 2008 (that?s tomorrow!). While many Americans have opinions about the presidential candidates, no one elicits such strong feelings as Democratic candidate and former First Lady Hillary Clinton. There seem to be a lot of folks out there who truly and passionately hate Hillary Clinton. My question is why? I posed this question to Robert Bluey of Bluey Blog and director of the Center for Media & Public Policy at The Heritage Foundation, a think tank whose mission is ?to formulate and promote conservative public policies based on the principles of free enterprise, limited government, individual freedom, traditional American values, and a strong national defense.? Speaking for himself and not necessarily for The Heritage Foundation, Rob wrote the following: Americans began to dislike Hillary during the 1992 campaign and only grew more hostile throughout her husband's eight years ...
