Well Healed Asterisk Leads the Open Source VoIP Pack.
2007-11-26 15:46:00
I had to write something after reading an article on Australian IT. It is not only that Open Source has traction in VoIP IP Telephony, most of the VoIP was Open Source until recently where big companies were /are still selling legacy telephony switches. Now that companies like Microsoft has entered the arena, there will be analysts who will try to pull wool over eyes of people. What pushed me to even mention this article is the mention of YG below. There are other open source initiatives on VoIP, like OpenH323, OpenGateKeeper, that were equally old or older. But that is not the point here. "Even though industry researchers such as The Yankee Group say VoIP is too early in its development cycle to be properly open-sourced, vendors are launching products. (Remember the same Yankee Group said that SCO will Prevail Against IBM! And we will start seeing praising of Microsoft VoIP products from this same group, but that is the business they are in. Selling ignorance to ignorant!) Already...

Demand for IP PBX on the rise in business
2007-09-08 03:04:00
According to an article on PC World, VoIP usage in the business' are on the rise. Both the United satates and in Europe.Forrester Research recently surveyed some 516 landline voice decision-makers in North American and Europe to gauge their interest in IP telephony. Results show that more than half (54 percent) of those polled are increasing their budgets for IP PBX systems and services this year, with planned migrations most likely wrapping up in the next few years. The research firm attributes the growth to diminishing concerns over reliability and resiliency, as well as declining costs, and credits an ever-increasing mobile workforce as forcing more companies to consider IP telephony.PC World article.Tags: IP PBX, VoIP, landline, mobile workforce, IP telephony
Go find your Pure IP PBX here, 2.23 Million of them!
2007-08-31 04:24:00
Don't expect to find Avaya or Nortel here, it is only Cisco and Mitel leading the market and in turn by chased by 3Com, ShoreTel, and Inter-Tel (also part of Mitel now). Also I did not see the number of devices based on OSS products like Asterisk information. Perhaps they were too open to be called pure IP PBXs. (I have not seen the report and my rumblings are pure guesses from the information provided)Basically The iLocus report will give you the following information on;Total IPPBX end user licenses shipped (and revenue) worldwide with regional breakdownIP PBX end user license shipment market share of different vendors worldwideIP PBX end user license shipment market share of non-Cisco vendorsIP PBX end user license shipment market share of different vendors in North AmericaIP PBX end user license shipment market share of different vendors in Asia PacIP PBX end user license shipment market share of different vendors in EMEAVendor Updates. Now I hav...
Equip your Office with IP PBX
2007-08-22 20:09:00
One of the most important in your business is accessibility to your customers and supplier. Without this toll or equipment you will be left behind and lost a lot of opportunities. Many functions of this system were added that when you use it you will never want to use the old system of PBX. Just imagine yourself unplugging the telephone set and put it in other location be it in the next floor or even in the other side of the world with the same number. As long as you have an office there using the same technology, the boundary is not an issue. As an Electronic Engineer and a certified Cisco technician, I know a lot about this equipment. Since it is an IP technology, long distance is no longer an issue too. Save long distance call and make your call high tech and automatic. You can even use this PBX to get data, video and audio signal. It is called convergence. In one system you have it all. Using VoIP phone systems in your office is the best solution whether your business is small or...
Quelle est la Différence Entre IP PBX et Softswitch ?
2007-07-20 19:18:00
So...
