They will also thank our troops, civilians, and coalition partners for their heroic work in extremely difficult circumstances. In Iraq, the senators will examine whether the tactical buildup of U.S. troops has resulted in the progress necessary to resolve Iraq?s political differences, provide basic services to the Iraqi people, and create long-term stabil...

2008-07-09 07:55:00
Updated July 12:Are the Saudis behind Muslim terror most everywhere, or does it just seem like it?After all, 80% of Al Qaeda were Saudis several years ago. What's the figure now? We know that Zarqawi's Iraqi Al Qaeda was full of men from the Gulf, not necessarily Saudi Arabia, but Arabia nonetheless. Fallujah was full of these guys in 2004 during the two horrible US invasions of the town. And support for Al Qaeda is high in the Kingdom. A good 50% of the population supported bin Laden a few years back. The Al Qaeda unit inside Saudi Arabia, Al Qaeda in the Arabian Peninsula, had vast support and was able to penetrate into the deepest recesses of the Saudi security forces during its operations. This is how it raided embassies. There were also times during the worst of the AQAP operations that the Saudi security forces just let AQAP escape from their very hands. This was due to huge support for AQAP inside the Saudi security forces themselves. What's happened since? With the death of...

The US efforts in Iraq will definitely fail. CNN LYING ABOUT OBAMA AND IRAQ FOR RATINGS
2008-07-03 00:45:00
Say, CNN's lying about Senator Obama and his intention to get us out of Iraq just for ratings. It's on now. It' s also as if they can't find real news, so they have to make it up. The CNN point is that because violence is reduced, the troop surge is working. I take the reverse view: a reduction in violence is a good reason to bring the troops home. It's fair to ask CNN if they want more Americans killed in Iraq. That seems to be the case.

Iraq War: If The Surge Is Working, Bring The Troops Home!
2008-06-24 13:39:00
I just ran over this Washington Post article which reports that the "surge" is working, but the Bush Administration does not have a plan for the period after the surge. It's as if they were expecting to just keep the troops there, lending credence to Senator John McCain's view that we're going to be i n Iraq for 100 years. I can only hope we get Senator Obama into the White House as President. While Iraq forces may not be able to act independently of American forces, perhaps they would be left with no choice if we took the lion's share of the troops out.
What About Iraq?
2008-06-20 13:40:00
In his NYT op-ed column on June 18th, Thomas Friedman writes: "Iraq has become one of those subjects that so many people now come to with so much emotional scar tissue that it is very hard to have a sober discussion about the actual situation there today. So much is colored by how you feel about George Bush or whether you were for or against the war. As a result, what we do next in Iraq — how

Obama Leads McCain After Clinton Endorsement
2008-06-10 08:51:00
Barack Obama made gains over John McCain according to the latest presidential polling. Rasmussen and Gallup polling data from June 6 through June 8 showed a sizable bump for Obama after officially clinching the Democratic nomination. Barack Obama became the presumptive Democratic nominee last Tuesday after picking up superdelegates endorsements and pledged delegates from South Dakota and Montana. Senator Clinton met with Democratic leaders on Wednesday and later announced her intentions to withdrawal from the race and endorse Obama. With the Democratic nomination locked up and Senator Clinton endorsing Obama, Obama had a week of publicity following this major victory. According a Rasmussen poll, Obama picked up 4 points and McCain lost 2 points from the previous week. The six point swing gives Obama a 50 percent to 44 percent lead. The previous Rasmussen poll showed a dead tie between Obama and McCain. Gallup polling data showed a slightly larger swing fo...
Uk Troops to be out of Iraq by end of year - ish.
2008-06-09 23:03:00
The BBC reports:The final withdrawal of British troops from Iraq could be announced by the end of the year.So what are they saying? Well, they are not saying it will be announced, only that it could. And even then they are saying that the announcement could be made by the end of the year - NOT that troops could be withdrawn by the end of the year. The government could announce that troops will be withdrawn in five years time - by the end of the year. I've got to ask - are the government paying the BBC to come out with this crap to try and save Gordon Brown's neck? Also in the news:Moon monkeys could fly out of my arse by the end of the year.My pear tree could produce solid gold pears by the end of the year.Gordon Brown could make a decision by the end of the year.Guido Fawkes could link to me by the end of the year.Nick Clegg could explain his position on the Lisbon Treaty by the end of the year.UPDATE: Guido has linked to me - I guess the BBC could be right after all. Cheers Guido!

Whitehouse Doctor Sites New Study On War in Iraq
2008-06-07 20:29:00
Study confirms what has long believed to be true, Liberals have smaller breast then Conservatives. Can you tell how these women vote? (Hint the one on the right is a liberal) According to insurance call service technician, Robert Parker, small breasted women tend to be more liberal, sometimes even lesbians. "I have lived in Portland, OR for four years and I have only met two kinds of women," says Parker, "Lesbians and tinny titties." Parker who was kind enough to grant us interview on his lunch break elaborated further on his theory that is taking the country by storm. "You see I did not notice the phenomenon until visited home in Boise, suddenly I was surrounded by big breasted women."    Parker goes on to explain that the combination of riding bikes and being a vegetarian not only makes a woman liberal it also gives them very small breasts. "Mr. Parker makes a very good point." Said Bush administration physici...

Jesus Denounces McCain, Endorses Obama
2008-06-06 23:01:00
In a stunning turn of events Thursday, the Son of God endorsed Barack Obama for President while rejecting and distancing himself from presumptive Republican nominee John McCain. Outside an Applebee's off the New Jersey Turnpike in Paramus yesterday, Jesus Christ told reporters, "Look, it's been a very divisive primary season between Barack and Hillary. I thought my support would aid the healing process and help unify the Democrats." Asked if he was a registered Democrat, Jesus replied, "I'm actually registered with the Green Party. But no amount of faith and prayer will get their candidate elected." Christ clarified, "I perform miracles, but there are limits."

Did Iranian agents dupe Pentagon officials?
2008-06-06 19:15:00
In a word, yes, several times. First Chalabi, the Iranian spy, working paradoxically with Israeli spies in AIPAC, manipulated the already inclined neocons in the Bush Administration, to lead the Iraqi invasion. McClatchy Washington Bureau Defense Department counterintelligence investigators suspected that Iranian exiles who provided dubious intelligence on Iraq and Iran to a small group of Pentagon officials might have "been used as agents of a foreign intelligence service ... to reach into and influence the highest levels of the U.S. government," a Senate Intelligence Committee report said Thursday. A top aide to then-secretary of defense Donald H. Rumsfeld, however, shut down the 2003 investigation into the Pentagon officials' activities after only a month, and the Defense Department's top brass never followed up on the investigators' recommendation for a more thorough investigation, the Senate report said.
