The book is mainly about unraveling the mystery of Jack the ripper and the author believes that Walter Sickert, the English painter, might have been the ripper.In the 19th century, in the year 1888, from August to November, 5 women (also known as the canonical five) were brutally murdered in the White Chapel area in London. The killer was never found by the police and the killer came to be known as Jack the Ripper from the signature on the letters that the alleged murderer used to send to the police, basically to mock their failure at finding out who he is.Anyway, here are pictures of the ripper's victims, as you can see they died in atrocious conditions, most of them having their organs and genitals ripped out and disfigured by their killer.Jack the Ripper gave me horrible nightmares those past nights. 2007-09-21 16:03:00 I?m afraid so, folks!I?m referring to the senseless torture and murder of an 8 year old Allahyarhamah Nurin Jazlin Jazimin that shocked the whole Malaysian nation recently. :-(I wanted to write a story on that case for days now but I really don?t know where to start. My emotions were in complete turmoil as if I?m in some kind of a roller coaster ride. I have anger, sadness and confusion, all rolled into one.Today however, I brave myself to express my feelings somehow here today. Then again, what?s the point? All the best writings in the world could not bring her back to her grieving parent. No money in the world could even replace her. Basant the killer (took more lives this year than Jack the Ripper ever did)
2007-02-28 23:14:02 Jashn-i-baharan, or the official Basant festival, was held on the weekend of 24th and 25th February. On these two days maximum parties were organized, maximum musical evenings were arranged and maximum kites were flown. In the past few years the festival has grown exponentially and has put Lahore on the international tourist destination map. A lot of money is invested in making this a festival worth visiting. However, for some the festival could turn into a killer. Even though a ban was placed on kite-flying in 2005 it is constantly removed and then re-enforced. Usually, after protests the ban is removed for a few days to allow for the Basant festivities. Not like people would give heed to these regulations, but it is amazing that those in charge of the law, including our Supreme Court, are willing to twist the law and compromise safety in return for a couple of days of fun.
