James Dobson accuses Obama of *distorting* Bible
2008-06-24 12:49:00
COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. (AP) - As Barack Obama broadens his outreach to evangelical voters, one of the movement’s biggest names, James Dobson, accuses the likely Democratic presidential nominee of distorting the Bible and pushing a “fruitcake interpretation” of the Constitution. The criticism, to be aired Tuesday on Dobson’s Focus on the Family radio program, comes shortly ...
James Dobson endorses Huckabee
2008-02-08 17:02:00
Backing a sure loser is a certain way to marginalize oneself and one's movement. Dobson criticized McCain for his support of embryonic stem cell research, his opposition to a federal anti-gay marriage amendment and for his temper and use of foul language. He said he’d sit out the presidential election if McCain were the nominee. Stem cells is an old argument, but if he feels that strongly, OK. I don't support a pro-opposite sex marriage amendment because there's no way it would pass and it shouldn't be necessary. It's properly a state matter. The temper and foul language issues reveal a lot about Dobson's temper. Story here.Powered by b2evolution.
James Dobson endorses Mike Huckabee for President
2008-02-08 14:10:00
James Dobson has announced that he will be endorsing Mike Huckabee for president. He felt that Huckabee was the last of the pro-family candidates left in the race. Below is his official endorsement statement: I am endorsing Gov. Mike Huckabee for President of the United States today. My decision comes in the wake of my statement on ...

Ari Fleischer tells the truth for once
2008-02-06 09:55:00
The former Information Minister for President George W. Bush, “Comical Ari” Fleischer, is appearing on CNN now as a political expert for Election ‘08 coverage because, as you know, he’s a master b.s. artist and we can’t have objective analysis sullying our airwaves. But tonight on Super Tuesday, in a rare moment of candor and honesty, he said with a straight face (because he wasn’t kidding) the following on behalf of Republicans: There is no doubt … we hope and pray every night to run against Hillary Clinton. And now you know exactly why Fleischer, Ann Coulter, James Dobson, Michelle Malkin, Glenn Beck, Rush Limbaugh, and myriad other foul hatebeasts of the far right are curiously pulling for Hillary and/or bashing McCain. They don’t care who the GOP nominee is. They want Americans to think the Republican Party is fractured and terrified of Clinton. It has everything to do with ensuring she is the Democratic nominee so they can beat ...
James Dobson: Immature American
2008-02-05 22:10:00
So, on Dennis Prager, James Dobson said that he wouldn't vote for McCain if he's the nominee. It appears that Dobson doesn't like McCain because McCain "thumbs his finger in the eyes of Republicans." Well, that's a good reason! We wouldn't want the fate of the country to get in the way of your feelings. You have a choice of two candidates. One of them is not an intellectual clone of you (unless you're talking to Romney one-on-one). Choose "better" and "best" not "perfect." Choose somebody you can respect. You have to live with him for four years. I've defended James Dobson at times. I'm sure I agree with him on most things, but this is very destructive.Powered by b2evolution.
James Dobson Will Not Vote For McCain As A "Matter Of Conscience"
2008-02-05 18:43:00
Statement From Dr. James Dobson As Delivered By Laura Ingraham On "The Laura Ingraham Show" (2/5/08): http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-6yDro-hy3TU "I'm deeply disappointed the Republican Party seems poised to select a nominee who did not support a Constitutional amendment to protect the institution of marriage, who voted for embryonic stem cell research to kill nascent human beings, who opposed tax cuts that ended the marriage penalty, and who has little regard for freedom of speech, who organized the Gang of 14 to preserve filibusters, and has a legendary temper and often uses foul and obscene language. "I am convinced Sen. McCain is not a conservative, and in fact, has gone out of his way to stick his thumb in the eyes of those who are.  He has at times sounded more like a member of the other party.  McCain actually considered leaving the GOP in 2001, and approached John Kerry about being Kerry's running mate in 2004.  McCain...

Report: James Dobson to Soon Announce His Endorsement for Mike Huckabee
2007-11-09 17:17:00
This is just emerging. The American Spectator is reporting that James Dobson, chairman of the conservative organization, Focus on the Family, will soon announce his endorsement of former Arkansas Governor and GOP presidential candidate Mike Huckabee for the Republican nomination. Dr. James Dobson, who has largely been made irrelevant to the 2008 Republican presidential race, has apparently found his man, and according to an adviser, is ready to change the landscape of the Republican nomination race. "He is the leader of the evangelical and social conservative movement in America, and he's going to reassert that position and leave no doubt that he's in charge," says the adviser based in Colorado. Sources close to Dobson say that within the next ten days he is coordinating an endorsement plan with the presidential campaign of former Arkansas Gov. Mike Huckabee. According to a Huckabee insider in Iowa, the event would be staged in that state at a rally, followed by a bus tour ...
DR. JAMES DOBSON ON RON PAUL
2007-10-24 16:51:00
Americans feel very strongly about their faith. Evangelical Christians are not only fierce in their beliefs, but they have become a force to be reckoned with particularly when it comes to the election of a president. The 2008 roster of candidates is causing a considerable amount of anguish with leaders like Dr. James Dobson, who ...read more | digg storyLiberty Central- Conservatism's Blog of Choice
James Dobson: The Values Test
2007-10-05 20:09:00
Reports have surfaced in the press about a meeting that occurred last Saturday in Salt Lake City involving more than 50 pro-family leaders. The purpose of the gathering was to discuss our response if both the Democratic and Republican Parties nominate standard-bearers who are supportive of abortion. Although I was neither the convener nor the moderator of the meeting, I?d like to offer several brief clarifications about its outcome and implications. After two hours of deliberation, we voted on a resolution that can be summarized as follows: If neither of the two major political parties nominates an individual who pledges himself or herself to the sanctity of human life, we will join others in voting for a minor-party candidate. Those agreeing with the proposition were invited to stand. The result was almost unanimous. The other issue discussed at length concerned the advisability of creating a third party if Democrats and Republicans do indeed abandon the sanctity of human life ...
Influential Christian Evangelical Leader James Dobson Says He Won't Support
2007-09-21 04:15:00
"Isn't Thompson the candidate who is opposed to a Constitutional amendment to protect marriage, believes there should be 50 different definitions of marriage in the U.S., favors McCain-Feingold, won't talk at all about what he believes, and can't speak his way out of a paper bag on the campaign trail?" Dobson wrote. "He has no passion, no zeal, and no apparent 'want to.' And yet he is apparently the Great Hope that burns in the breasts of many conservative Christians? Well, not for me, my brothers. Not for me!" The founder and chairman of Colorado Springs-based Focus on the Family, Dobson draws a radio audience in the millions, many of whom who first came to trust the child psychologist for his conservative Christian advice on child-rearing. Gary Schneeberger, a Focus on the Family spokesman, confirmed that Dobson wrote the e-mail. Schneeberger declined to comment further, saying it would be inappropriate because Dobson's comments about presidential candidates are made as a...
James Dobson Says No To Fred Thompson For President of GOP Conservatives!
2007-09-21 00:01:00
Christian Conservative, and Founder of Focus on the Family, leader James Dobson says "No!" to support of Fred Thompson. The former Tennessee Senator has been in the press a lot lately. He has been unofficially running for some time, but only recently publicly announced. He got a little disrespect from the other candidates during the last debate. When they all were espousing their opinions during the debate, he avoided. Ex-Senator, turned Actor, now Presidential candidate, Fred Thompson, was cracking jokes and making an announcement on the Jay Leno show after the debates. Many people have questioned his zeal to run. James Dobson agrees, "He has no passion, no zeal, and no apparent 'want to.' And yet he is apparently the Great Hope that burns in the breasts of many conservative Christians? Well, not for me, my brothers. Not for me!" James Dobson did not just suggest that he is not the favored candidate, but made it clear he is not even the spiritual leader...
A New Recruit For James Dobson?
2007-09-11 23:57:00
I posted on the subject of declining birth rates in this country awhile back here based on a column in USA Today by Phillip Longman of the New America Foundation run (at the time) by Ted Halstead and James Fallows. Their argument seemed to be that, if you had kids, you were conservative, but if you didn?t, you were some kind of liberal scum not contributing to the betterment of society (or something).I recalled this because of this story from Der Spiegel about a talk show host named Eva Herman who uttered the following about Nazi Germany and the role of women during those dark days?"It was a gruesome time with a totally crazy and highly dangerous leader who led the Germans into ruin as we all know. But there was at the time also something good, and that is the values, that is the children, that is the families, that is a togetherness -- it was all abolished, there was nothing left," Herman said.Wow-wee, uncle Adolf, I think somebody just goose-stepped herself into a big puddle of Wü...
Dr. James Dobson declares Rudy?s not the one
2007-05-18 06:19:00
In a commentary that he wrote for WorldNetDaily, the founder of Focus on the Family James Dobson pointed out many areas of the Rudy Giuliani GOP presidential candidacy that should be causes for concern among social conservatives. Dobson?s biggest issue is with Giuliani?s pro-choice position on abortion.
Dr. James Dobson: Fred Thompson ‘Not a Christian’
2007-03-28 23:28:00
Mr Dobson can kiss my ass. I personally think this article is good news for the (potential) Thompson campaign. When you start to see the “Hater Aid” being served up on websites and news stories it means that Thompson is a strong candidate. You typically won’t see attacks on bargain basement political campaigns. From Newsmax - Focus on the Family ...
