This past Wednesday, David Israel posted a simple question at mental_floss, What’s the nerdiest thing you’ve ever done? and received 200 comments. And 817 Diggs. With 328 more comments over there. Meanwhile, I am struggling to come up with any ideas at all for what to write about. They want me to do two-page articles with lots of pictures, preferably in a list format. I’ve done about a hundred of those over the last year and I’m really burned out. Help me out here. If there’s an idea in your head, I can research it. Internet phenomena, weird history, beautiful places, if I can make a list out of it, I will. I just need a little inspiration, and I’m fresh out. From the hatred of Monday is burning department... Beauty Bash 2 @ Beauty Bar on Jan 12th with Rapid Ric, Nick Nack, Boss Ross, and Betaplayer.-----Wow just saw American Ganster. American Ganster is a movie about the rise and fall of New York ganster, Frank Lucas, played by Denzel Washington who does and excellent job as he always does. I'm a Denzel fan. One thing that struck me was one of Frank Lucas' brothers was played by Common. Yes the same Common of hip hop fame. Although he has a small role in the movie, it is no doubt a prelude to more roles. Much luck to him and his growth as an artist.

#0023 Report from NIH Research Radio -- Topics for January 12, 2007 Coming up on this edition, Bill Schmalfeldt has a story about how staying in shape mentally could help older folks maintain their thinking skills according to a new study funded by the National Institute on Aging and the National Institute of Nursing Research. And speaking of aging, it's a common misperception that depression is just another part of getting older. We'll tell you about some new information on the NIH Senior Health website designed to battle that stereotype. Bill sits down with Dr. Harrison Wein, editor of the NIH News in Health to discuss the January issue. Wally Akinso has a story on how results from the National Heart, Lung, and Blood Institute's Growth and Health Study suggest that overweight girls as young as 9 are at increased risk for short-term and long-term problems that increase the chances of developing cardiovascular disease. Also, The National Institute on Alcohol Abuse and Alcoholis...
