January 2008 starts with a 57% jump in Foreclosures
2008-05-08 20:30:00 December 2007 ended with 45,327 homes being repossessed by banks and January 2008 started with a jump of 57% on bank foreclosures across the nation. In total, the number of homes affected by foreclosure in January was 233,001, which is a straight increase of 8% since December 2007. The good element in an otherwise depressive state of affairs was that the month-to-month filings have not shown any rapid appreciation. But the question is: is that good enough?

Southampton. Few transfers, January and February matches in the Coca-Cola C
2008-04-01 07:03:00 Starting the second half of the season I decided to make few actions on the transfer market and get some useful player for the club: Martin Jakubko is towering striker from Slovakia. Bought him just for winning headers in the centre of attack and scoring goals. Douglas Rinaldi. MC. Italian/Brazilian of rather old 30 years age. He has all attribute values of decent level and high Passing and Creativity - 17. Yazid Mansouri. MRC. Rather versatile player from Algeria. He is 30 years old too. His high mental abilities, good physics and Passing with Tackling can be seen on the picture below: So all these signings were targeted at not only strengthening the team but also giving some flexibility in tactical variants of the first squad. That's, for instance, when you can set as MC more defensive footballer with high tackling and stamina or more attacking one with creative passing (like I described in the previous post about Individual Instructions). The resulting row of Ja...

January 2008 S&P Case-Shiller Index
2008-03-26 02:02:00 The S&P Case-Shiller Index is based on observed changes in home prices. It is designed to measure the increases or decreases in the market value of residential real estate. For each home sale transaction, a search is conducted to find information regarding any previous sale for the same house. If an earlier transaction is found, the two transactions are paired and are considered a ?repeat sale.? Sales pairs are designed to yield the price change for the same house, while holding the quality and size of each house constant.Sales pairs from the following counties are included in the Portland index: Clackamas, Columbia, Multnomah, Washington, Yamhill, Clark (WA), and Skamania (WA).The first graph shows the year over year changes for the month of January 2008. The index consists of 20 cities and Charlotte is the only city showing price appreciations. Click on any of the graphs for a better image. The second graph shows the one month change for each of the 20 cities. All cities showed...

Foreclosures Hit A 57% High In January
2008-03-18 18:21:00 Homes in U.S. have increased by 57% in January as compared to last year. The pace with which the foreclosure rates had increased had got under control since the government intervened. According to RealtyTrac, these measures have helped to subside the rate of increase of foreclosures. Mortgage companies as well as counsellors as endorsed by the Treasury have helped modify the intense risk-rates. The aim of these measures has been primarily to endure the affordability of these real estates as well as enable the homeowners to keep their homes with themselves. The rate of foreclosure fillings in January had a rise of 8% compared to the month before that. The real estate market has reported on the last week of February that foreclosure rates had spring up to a 19% rise a year back. James J. Saccaccio, the main executive of RealtyTrac, had stated that January’s foreclosure trends had gone up from a substantially increasing rate as compared to last year in many of the states in the coun...
January retail sales rise 7.8% - Singapore
2008-03-15 13:23:00 January retail sales rise 7.8% - Singapore By MATTHEW PHAN SINGAPORE’S retail sales in January rose 7.8 per cent year on year, the Department of Statistics said yesterday.  Points of brisk business: Sales at supermarkets jumped 19.1 per cent in January, while department stores saw a 20.9 per cent year-on-year rise in sales It added that retail sales rose just 1.5 per cent if adjusted for inflation. This is ‘hardly consistent with booming consumption’, said HSBC economist Robert Prior-Wandesforde. ‘Growing concern about inflation, unevenly distributed income gains and the weakness of the equity market could be other explanations for the softness in spending, although surprisingly soft retail sales has been a feature of the Singapore economy for at least 18 months now,’ he said in a note. At 7.8 per cent, the January jump was still stronger than the 4.3 per cent and 1.9 per cent falls in real terms seen in November and December 2007 respectively, Mr P...

January Foreclosure Report Shows Further Increase
2008-03-14 14:46:00 The foreclosures across the U.S. have faced a massive increase in January which has been an astronomical 57% more compared to the last year. Despite all efforts from the government to control situations within the sliding business of real estate, the latest speed of regulation has temporarily subsided. RealtyTrac has produced its survey reports and confirmed the statistics. Mortgage companies and counselors alike have got endorsed by treasurers with a modifying rate of risk-taking policy. This strategy also aims at improving the affordability of the borrowers in keeping their property intact. The foreclosure fillings in January had only gone up by an 8% compared to the previous month’s 19%, according to a real estate researching company. The number of foreclosures as suspected to have risen in January explicates that the number of foreclosures keep rising up from year to year in recent times. According to James J. Saccacio, the chief executive of RealtyTrac, this is a proven fact....
Portland New Construction in January 2008
2008-03-13 05:31:00 Surprisingly, sales of new construction in Portland, Oregon, for January 2008, increased 6% when compared to 2007 (5,370 versus 5,045). This is an unlikely bright spot in the Portland real estate market, which is facing record high inventory levels. Better yet, the median sale price also increased 6% ($387,200 versus $300,000). Hopefully this represents a positive omen for 2008, and a sign of strong fundamentals in the local market, which to date has not followed the trends of declining prices at the national level. Singapore Manufacturing grew 11.7% in January, EDB review shows
2008-03-12 04:24:00 Singapore Manufacturing grew 11.7% in January, EDB review shows  ‘Computational error’ leads to big changes in data on factory output By Nicholas Fang REVERSAL: Revised EDB data shows that electronics actually expanded by 8.7 per cent, instead of contracting by 6.7 per cent in January.  A RARE but sizeable error by the Economic Development Board (EDB) means factory output actually surged by 11.7 per cent in January - not 6.9 per cent as reported earlier. The EDB yesterday cited a ‘computational error’ in the manufacturing growth data it originally released last month. It said it had strengthened its processes to avoid such errors in the future. The rosier revised figures, though, failed to inspire economists to upgrade their yearly forecasts, as the global outlook remained uncertain. The most significant error in the EDB figures involved electronics output, which actually expanded 8.7 per cent. The initial report said the sector contracted 6.7 per cent....
