Tenhachi Japanese Restaurant in Shaugnessy Village
2008-11-05 15:00:00
We met up with Kim Ho for dinner last month. Kim Ho had been a prolific commenter on chowtimes and he also had a blog which he calls it Words of Wind. He recommended a Japanese restaurant Tenhaci which apparently is one of those places that had been blogged about many times by local Vancouver food bloggers. Tenhaci is located in the ground floor of a bed-and-breakfast place unlike the B&B that most people are accustomed to. Firstly, despite the name Shaugnessy Village it is not anywhere like the tony Shaugnessy neighborhood. Shaugnessy Village is more like a cheap hotel more than it is a B&B.

The ultimate Japanese-Japanese restaurant
2008-04-30 06:33:00
There’s Japanese food, and then there’s Japanese-Japanese food.  What do I mean by that? Well, you can quite happily enjoy a good ole donburi or tonkatsu at any ole greasy spoon and still call it ‘Japanese food’. Or you can go the whole hog and have the full-on extreme of a 2-hour banquet in a washitsu (traditional Japanese ...
Friday Dinner at Torafuku Japanese Restaurant on Pico in West Los Angeles
2008-04-17 00:25:00
SeeTheGlobe.com Travel Article :: We made last minute plans this past Friday to meet up with several "couple friends" of ours. Original reservation plans did not pan out (forgot to make reservation) so we had to think quickly. Torafuku was able to seat six of us at seven thirty in the evening and we took them up on the offer. We parked at the Westside Pavilion even though we are not sure if you are supposed to do that .. Japanese Christmas party
2007-12-17 11:29:00
A Japanese client invited me and a friend to a Christmas party last night, at Zakoya. I’ve never been to Japan, but I think I have enough Japanese friends to know that last night was a very Japanese get-together. My friend, Alex of Global Wings Travel, remarked that the party-goers didn’t behave in the ‘usual ...
Japanese Restaurant @ Lao Wai Tan, Ningbo
2007-10-06 15:41:00
I don't know the name of this Restaurant!I went out to meet a friend for lunch today. It was drizzling so we searched for a place to eat near our meeting point @ Lao Wai Tan. We checked out a Chinese restaurant but were not that eager for abalone, bird's nest and shark's fin - all the more expensive Chinese dishes. When Japanese was mentioned, I was happy at the suggestion.Tempura with udon in soup.I always add wasabi into my Japanese noodle soupto give it some oomph!I love natto beans!I was so happy they had this on the menu.I always ask for the menu in English. As this is a restaurant in the Lao Wai Tan area, they usually have one but be careful - they may not translate it well as I found out today.I had a craving for natto bean sushi and pointed to "fermented soybeans" on the menu but what was served were edamame beans. At first we thought they were complimentary appetizers - most Japanese restaurants serve a simple appetizer before you start your meal. Good thing we checked. ...

Tsu ::Japanese Restaurants
2007-09-24 18:15:00
Japanese restaurants in hotels tend to be of the old-fashioned sort, often stuck in an unfortunate decade, with geisha-like staff and an atmosphere that automatically makes you sit up straight. Tsu (and its adjoining sister Nami ) has thrown out all that and reminds guests that it's 2006. One of Thailand's leading design companies gave the underground-level place innavative avant-grade, sleek Zen minimalism and Nippon  touches. Here,Chef Aki has 35 people working hard to satisfy tummies and taste buds. The menu couples classic dishes with the Chef's inventive creations.  Monthly changing specials display his ongoing, alway successful experimentation. Sake lovers are happy to scrutinize one of Bangkok's largest selections. And everybody gets a small surprise at the end -prices are very reasonable, especially since portions are big, sashimi slabs huge, the selection almost overwhelming and service swift and friendlyInformation  - Picture form www...

Ishi Japanese Restaurant

Ishi Japanese Restaurant 8109 University City Blvd Charlotte, NC 28213 704-921-9219 Ishi Photos In The Gallery Finally got to Ishi Japanese Restaurant And Sushi bar after hearing second hand rave reviews from a few people including our own prior review here from one of our readers. I have also since sat with a family member who is a freshman at UNCC and her father both who raved that we must try Ishi as soon as possible. The rumors of the incredible value at Ishi along with the great food made this possible as I am pretty broke lately for restaurant money. unlike reviews of fancy uptown “bistros” and “4 star affairs” mine are dictated by what’s in my wallet this week and not checks being picked up by “the man”. This is envy talking I know, I admit that much, I am only jealous of larger dining budgets than my own. This location is not what I excpeted as it is very tucked away in the back of the Home Depot plaza right next to Peak Fitness. Th...

Lunch at O-Sho Japanese Restaurant on Sepulveda in Manhattan Beach
2007-02-28 01:33:01
SeeTheGlobe.com Travel Site Latest News :: This is another restaurant in the South Bay (Los Angeles) where we sometimes wonder how they do it. By “how they do it” I mean how they combine the great price and great food. That winning combination has definitely won over many customers. When you arrive here for lunch chances are that you will have to wait. There are just a few parking spots outside so you may have to resort to parking on a side street which is not a big deal. From the outside you cannot see inside, it is all boarded up – decoratively ...Rate and Review : Lunch at O-Sho Japanese Restaurant on Sepulveda in Manhattan Beach
Zen Japanese Restaurant, Mah Boon Krong (MBK) Center, Bangkok, Thailand
2007-01-22 08:05:00
We had lunch at the Zen Japanese restaurant at MBK Center in Bangkok over the weekend and it was fantastic. As you can see from the picture, we went a little salmon crazy. We highly recommend the salmon teriyaki and salmon sashimi. The beef shabu-shabu was only so-so though. All 4 of us ate to bursting and the bill came up to less than 3,000 baht. Well worth every baht, I say.So, any of you out there who's eaten at this restaurant?Technorati: Food, Japanese Food, Restaurants, Bangkok
