Interview: Jason Whitlock
2008-05-09 11:54:00
Love him, (or) hate him, Jason Whitlock of The Kansas City Star and FoxSports.com creates dialogue with his columns. I find Jason on the wrong-side of the fence on subjects such as Don Imus, The Jena Six, and Hip-Hop’s ruining of the black community, but his opinions cause others to exchange ideas, something that can’t ...
The Words of Jason Whitlock: Black Culture and America
2007-11-29 22:08:00
As the week has moved forth, the topic on every sports fan mind in the Washington region has been on the death of Sean Taylor. Almost every sporting website, blog, talk radio show and newspaper has looked into the lifestyle, family, and everything else can you think of about the fallen safety. While I was on break at work, I read Jason Whitlock's provocative article titled "Taylor's Death A Grim Reminder For Us All", that looks how the pervasive images of black America and crime may have played a role into the death of Sean Taylor. As much as we try to deny the issue of race in the death of Mr. Taylor - well, sadly it is an issue, whether we want to face the issue head on or not. What I am trying to come to grips with as a black male is, "how close to this so-called world that Sean Taylor comes from correlates with mine & it is fair to swath everyone with the same brush?"Maybe it is a coincidence that Mr. Taylor tragically lost his life, or maybe it isn't?I'm going to post a fe...
Jason Whitlock uses Tucker Carlson for BP
2007-04-14 15:13:00
You may be shocked to know, that I am not George Gallop and I am not a pollster.  I can’t conduct a nationwide poll.   I did conduct an unscientific poll this morning.   I am not even Dick Morris, who claims to be able conduct a nationwide poll over night.  However I do have two eyes, two ears and the connective tissue between them.  The drive-by media treats the Reverends Al Sharpton and Jesse Jackson as deities.   In contrast the general puplic treats them like hucksters, here ,here ,here Jason Whitlock, a sports columist, uses CNN”s Tucker Carlson for batting practice.   Hint Carlson is the one in the bow tiie.  Whitlock is one making sense.  Big Lead has the story,    Give Whitlock Carlston’s gig, but drop the bow tie.   What Whitlocks is saying is out step with the MSM, but in step with the public. Aside, to Whitlock:  lose some weight.  Rush Limbaugh did it.  So can  you.  We want to keep you around awhile. (H/T:  Allah Pundit,...

Kansas City Star's Jason Whitlock At War With His Own Black Community
2007-04-13 11:31:00
Read: Problem of White Racism masked by talk about Black Rappers. Jason Whitlock's an African American columnist for the Kansas City Star. On the 12th he wrote an article blaming Don Imus' words on the "problem" created by Black rappers. That's stupid. What bothers me about Jason is he's on shows basically attacking the all-too-easy target of the Black rapper , while leaving every White racist and White rapper without blame. Look, it's plain dumb to compare Don Imus obvious racial gaffe to Black rappers. The real problem is that there are people who are White and Asian and Latino who feel that it's OK to make fun of and essentially be hurtful to those who are Black because they are Black. Those people who do this will use any reason available to justify their words of hate, including pointing at Black rappers as "creating the climate". (Hey, to blame hundreds of years of racism on a 17-year old kid is pretty silly when you think about it.) But it take a stupidly-reaso...
NBA All-Star Weekend Beats the SuperBowl
2007-02-28 01:02:00
I read an article in the San Diego Union Tribune the other day that I wanted to share:"Jason Whitlock of the Kansas City Star took in the NBA's All-Star Weekend in Las Vegas, and this is his (printable) report: '"All-Star Weekend has one huge advantage over the Super Bowl, the other sporting event that sparks major partying. This weekend is just as much - if not more - a women's event as a man's. This is probably a byproduct of the basketball game being a complete afterthought... David Stern could cancel the game, and the event wouldn't suffer at all. Women would still show p by the truckload hoping to dance with Charles Barkley, Michael Jordan, Allen Iverson, LeBron James and anyone else taller than 6 feet 4. A typical Super Bowl party will have 10 men for every woman. All-Star Weekend parties are split pretty much right down the middle... Again, we're talking about The Perfect Storm of ghettofabulousness - booze, babes, gambling, celebrities, a dunk contest and ...
