Jeff Garcia: PLEASE SHUT UP!!
2008-06-05 12:26:00 My goodness, Bucs QB Jeff Garcia keeps going on and on and for what? Check out his latest statement courtesy of Sirius Satellite Radio: "For me to go into this season and if it doesn't work itself out, if a contract is not presented as far as a renewal and a chance to finish my career here, then I will seriously think about . . . what my alternate options may be. It may come to not even playing football anymore. And I'd hate to even say that, but I feel like when you mistreat people there comes a time when it doesn't matter how much money you're going to be paid. If you're not being treated the right way it's going to lead to some drastic decisions and those decisions may just take me away from the game." - from "The Man" Stephen Holder of the Bucs Beat Is this guy serious? No really, he can't be!! What kind of appreciation are you looking for if it "Doesn't matter how much money you're going to be paid" ... I'm starting to dislike this guy again. Reality check, although ...

Linc?d Up May 20th, 2008
2008-05-20 09:36:00 The Flyers got blown out, the Phillies frustrate you, Barkley is a dope, the Eagles red zone was not so bad, there have been 100 consecutive losing seasons in Philadelphia, and plenty of news from around the NFL. Here is the photoshopped picture of DeSean Jackson flying. Thanks to EaglesFans.com for this. Lincs to check out: The Flyers ...
Show me the Money: RB Earnest Graham and QB Jeff Garcia want compensation
2008-04-12 03:54:00 RB Earnest Graham was a no show for this weeks Organized Team Activities (OTA's) aka Voluntary workouts. He's denied it but many have speculated that he's holding out for a contract extension. I can't really blame Graham. He's been a rock ever since he came to the Bucs and he really proved his worth last season and he'll continue to prove his worth for much of this season as well. With Veteran Warrick Dunn getting 6 mil for 2 years, its a no brainer Earnest Graham would look to get paid, especially with the Cap Space the Bucs currently have. QB Jeff Garcia was hopeful the Bucs Organization would rip up his current contract and provide him with a new contract he could retire a Buc with. The Bucs have shown no sign of extending his contract however. Garcia is the key that starts the Bucs engine, there's no question he is the single most important piece to the puzzle, BUT his performance last season wasn't contract extending worthy... Sure he made the Pro Bowl (by default) ...

Birds Get 3 More Draft Picks
2008-04-01 03:12:00 The NFL announced it’s compensatory picks today, and the Eagles were rewarded with 3 of extra draft picks. The league gives out draft picks to teams that lost more free agents than they gained. The Iggles lost Michael Lewis, Rod Hood, Donte’ Stallworth, and Jeff Garcia, and gained Kevin Curtis and Monate Reagor. So when you see ...
Defining Moments: QB Jeff Garcia leads Bucs to Playoff Victory!
2008-01-05 15:57:00 In the NFL, the biggest Games are decided by the smallest details. Here's what I would suggest as the weekends most defining moment... Sunday's Playoff Match-up between the Tampa Bay Buccaneers and New York Giants will be a very Physical Match-up. Look for the Giants to lead and control the game the whole way, UNTIL Bucs QB Jeff Garcia begins his team's final drive. Several passes down field to Joey Galloway/Ike Hilliard and the Bucs find themselves in the Red Zone. Garcia looks to the left, rolls out of the pocket to the right and finds TE Anthony Becht in the back of the End Zone all alone. BUCS WIN, THE BUCSSSS WIN!!!!

QB Jeff Garcia to START against the Atlanta Falcons Sunday
2007-12-11 02:42:00 QB Jeff Garcia is expected to take the field Sunday at Raymond James Stadium against the Atlanta Falcons. Head Coach Jon Gruden has been receiving heat for being sketchy as to who would start this past Sunday in the defeat to the Houston Texans... He refused to apologize however and I agree with him: "I don't believe I should apologize, but I don't feel like we have to divulge everything or let everyone know exactly where it is in terms of the timetable for Jeff. We felt it was a two-week injury. ... We feel we did the right thing, the only thing [to do was] to let the injury get better." - ESPN.com The mejority of the teams in the league hide their hand when it comes to choosing a Starting QB when the teams main starter is under the weather or recovering from an injury, as in Garcia's case. The Falcons recently did it against the Bucs, by not naming Byron Leftwich (aka mistake) the starter during the week when they met just 4 weeks ago.

Would you SIT QB Jeff Garcia?
2007-12-03 18:39:00 Several News Outlets, namely ESPN and the St. Pete Times have been reporting that Tampa Bay Bucs QB Jeff Garcia has a hairline fracture in his back..... Former Bucs QB Brad Johnson had the same injury years ago and missed three weeks. My question is: Would you sit Jeff Garcia for the next couple ball games and let him heal up to near 100% or would you throw him out there to secure our Playoff run with the possibility of losing him for the duration of the Season? Given Back-up QB Luke McCown's performance this past Sunday (I'm not confident), but I would allow him to start the next two-three games so Garcia can rest. McCown played the game of his life, but the Saints have a very suspect Defense. Here's our remaining games: @ Houston (5-7) Falcons (3-9) @ 49ers (3-9) Panthers (6-6) The Texans would give McCown a challenge (their fiesty despite the record) , but I think he could manage the Storm and secure at the very least 1 win out of our next three games. All we need is an...

QB Jeff Garcia has a SORE Shoulder or Does he?
2007-11-16 03:03:00 Add a Sore Shoulder to QB Jeff Garcia's ever increasing list of season injuries OR should we count it? There's been a ton of talk lately about Garcia nursing a sore shoulder. What did he have to say? QB Jeff Garcia says heck no, he's not sore: "I've been fine all year long," Garcia, 37, said. "It kind of bothers me that that's even brought up because that (sore shoulder) hasn't been an issue. I feel very motivated, very energized, very excited to get back to doing what we need to do and just get back on the field" - St. Pete Times So there you have it, I guess Jeff DOES NOT have a sore shoulder, lets hope he's right. Sustained Injuries thus far: Gash on his non-throwing hand Bloody lip Mild Concussion (there was NOTHING Mild about it) Sore Shoulder Hang in there Jeff, you can lead this team, if you go down the season is officially over

L.J. Smith Likely Gone Next Season
2007-11-15 01:43:00 Looks like L.J. Smith is still unhappy about not having a new contract. He has not held out, but he has voiced his displeasure several times with his contract situation. Today he gave his latest thoughts about it:If you think tight end L.J. Smith will re-sign with the Eagles after the season, you might want to think again.?Am I optimistic about being here again? No. I?m not optimistic about it,? said Smith, who is eligible to be a free agent after the season. ?Right now I?m looking at possibly being on another team.?Asked if there have been discussions regarding a new deal, Smith said there has been ?nothing significant.?After spending much of the season recovering from a sports hernia/groin injury, Smith scored his first touchdown of the season Sunday. His goals for the rest of the season??I think No. 1 finish up healthy. And secondly perform well when I?m out there,? he said.?It?s really important for me personally, I?m going to help the team obviously ? but for me personally it?s...

Roy Williams to Jeff Garcia, Um Yeah... Tampa Bay Bucs-Detroit Lions Prelud
2007-10-19 03:15:00 Don't look for Bucs QB Jeff Garcia and Lions WR Roy Williams to meet at mid field after the game Sunday to share chuckles and hand shakes. Lions WR Roy Williams put QB Jeff Garcia on blast this week on WDFN ESPN Radio. He went as far as to say Garcia blamed his teammates rather than own up to his mistakes. Checkout that portion of the interview below by pressing play: It's kind of lame, after the fact, to call out your former QB publicly, but hey it makes for some good entertainment. It's a shame QB Jeff Garcia didn't hear this rant and get a chance to respond to it ....... Oh wait he did: "As a quarterback, you're always shouldering the blame," he said. "I had no problem absorbing whatever it was that I had to absorb (at times) when we weren't able to win football games. We play this game as a team and everybody's responsible and everybody has to have accountability. That's where I felt that, at times, there wasn't a whole lot of accountability among everyon...

QB Jeff Garcia, will he make it through the Season ALIVE?
2007-09-28 06:10:00 You gotta wonder with the BEATING QB Jeff Garcia has taken in just Three Short Games, How long can he possibly stay healthy? Thus far he has sustained a cut on his non-throwing hand, a concussion thanks to the Seahawks Defense, and he recently received a bloody lip courtesy of the St. Louis Rams Defense. I guess it could be worse: He could be in a hospital bed with a ruptured spleen ..... ahh Sorry Simms! Our Offensive Line hasn't been great, but I also think Garcia's reckless "keep every play alive" mentality also gets him in trouble physically. I wouldn't change his approach for anything in the world and if the Receivers reacted just a tad bit quicker to their QB, Garcia might have avoided some of his existing injuries So what do you think? How long will QB Jeff Garcia last? The whole Season? Until Mid Season? Until the 2nd Quarter of Sundays game, if Julius Peppers has anything to do with it?

Head Coach Jon Gruden <3's Starting Quarterback Jeff Garcia
2007-07-17 16:17:00 The St. Pete Times relays one of the more heart-felt stories of the off-season ..... Head Coach Jon Gruden professes his LOVE for new Starting Quarterback Jeff Garcia:"I love Garcia," Gruden said recently. "I like what he's doing a lot. I just think he's got some traits we haven't had around here - his mobility, his experience."You guys are sick. Come on Jon, let him prove himself before you declare your love for the guy. Sure stand behind your guy, but dang, your setting yourself up for some ridiculous criticism if the season progresses, Garcia bombs on the field, and you stick with him through it. I'm all for believing in your players, but come on this is gross. Get a room. I'm sorry ...... "I love you Jon" ...... Will you take me back? Circle "Yes" or "No" ..... Hat Tip to kmac68k12 for the story

Hey Jeff Garcia: JUST SHUT UP!
2007-06-19 22:47:00 In what is clearly the most asinine quote of the off-season (provided by the Bucs Beat) ..... Today during the teams mandatory Mini-Camp, QB Jeff Garcia provided his opinion in response to being asked what he thought about the prospect of QB Jake Plummer joining the QB competition: "That's fine. If he wants to come, he can come and sit on the bench with the others," Garcia said. Are you kidding me? Granted I hope and pray Jake Plummer stays retired, but to have the audacity to say, if and when Plummer decides to return, that he can take his place on the bench with the rest of the inepts is just ridiculous. First of all, what in the hell have YOU accomplished in Tampa Jeff? . . . I'm waiting . . . Exactly, you havent accomplished a damn thing. Wow, talk about arrogance ... You act like your God's Gift to the Bucs Quarterback woes. I hope your teammates arent as offended by your comments as this Bucs fan is. Thats great veteran leadership there boy! . . . let me stop

Jeff Garcia and Luke Petitgout are still disheartened by the Eagles and Gia
2007-06-18 15:52:00 Jeff Garcia is still experiencing sour grapes about the Philadelphia Eagles not re-signing him this past off-season. The Philadelphia Inquirer is reporting that while at Donovan McNabb's fundraiser for the American Diabetes Association this past Friday morning, Garcia had the following to say about being un-pursued by the Eagles this off-season: "Here was finally a situation where I felt so comfortable and I felt like I had a good home and a good place, and I wanted to be able to experience more of that and, hopefully, not have to relocate all over again. That opportunity wasn't presented to me." Garcia said, "I felt personally snubbed." In case you were wondering why he would opt for a back-up role behind McNabb rather than pursue a Starting Gig in Tampa, Garcia puts us at ease with his awakening: "As much as I would have liked to continue here, now I have a chance to start and I'm in a place where I see a lot of similarities with the Eagles in Tampa Bay, as far as veteran le...

[NFL] Odds and Ends: In case you want to get Jeff Garcia something for his
2007-03-21 19:04:00 Some guy over at the Fanhouse did some top-notch investigative journalism and found Jeff Garcia and Carmella DeCesare’s wedding registry on Williams-Sonoma. For a guy who just signed a $7M contract, Garcia’s registry is somewhat normal. Outside of a $1,600 knife set (on ...
Jeff Garcia is ready for Competition
2007-03-10 21:58:01 Hat tip to The Bucs Official Website, Jeff Garcia said he's going to fight his tail off to be the starter.
There's absolutely nothing wrong with that fire. I think Jeff Garcia, at the age of 37, will bring a fresh addition in mobility to the offense. Garcia said he likes to get the ball to his receivers in a position that they can catch and run, what a novel concept. With Galloway's speed we could see the Bucs stretch the field in '07.
