Anytime you win a “best of” award you must have something somebody wants. In most cases, what is offered is quality product. In Molly Jenson’s case, what those somebodies want is good folk/rock type music. Let’s get one thing out of the way ? This listener likes the blue shoes. That said, “Thinking Of You” (Maybe Tomorrow) ...

Electronic Arts CEO Warren Jenson departs
2008-03-24 19:39:00
The head shuffling continues at Electronic Arts, as one week after naming a new chief operating officer and president of global publishing, the company this morning announced that chief financial officer Warren Jenson has left the company after holding down the position since 2002.EA notes that Jenson will hang around to help close the books on the fiscal year-end reporting and help transition the role to someone else, a name that the company adds that it will announce shortly. While the reason behind Jenson's departure remains unclear -- the one-time exec stating only in a press release that "it's time for me to write the next chapter" in his career -- we can't help but wonder who will count up EA's coffers in his wake.

Alexander Wurz has dispeled rumours that he would not fulfil his duties as a third driver by not being a reserve racer, by telling the presses he would be prepared to step in at any moment. Jenson a Winner With Lewis Mania?
2008-01-30 16:35:00
Lewis mania! Well, what about it. It’s two words soon to be included in our dictionaries if things keep up. Is it a bad thing though? Jenson button doesn’t think so and why should he. Last season he could possibly have had some of the limelight if his season went the way he and his fans had anticipated it, but obviously it didn’t and 6 points is a bit embarrassing. Back to Lewis mania. In some ways this actually benefited Jenson. The fact that his poor performance on behalf of a rotten car was kept low key allows him to deal with it without a throng of media following him constantly. Jenson himself has admitted that this was indeed the case. “Until we get into a position where we can win races then it is going to be all about Hamilton, and I can understand that and I really have no issues with it.” “It means I can get on and concentrate on developing the car with Honda.” This year it is much the same with everything Lewis says being blown far out of...

Jenson Button Boils Over
2007-11-11 17:34:00
Jenson Button is not a happy man and his frustration has now spilled over.  First he makes a comment about Lewis Hamilton suggesting that Lewis may have let his only chance at winning a championship get away.  To me, this is a comment better kept to himself as it is not altogether true.  Here's what ...

F1: Jenson Button puts a brave face on 2007 season
2007-11-06 13:14:00
At the height of the Ferrari/McLaren spy row, Ron Dennis said: "I don?t need my character building any more." You really do wonder if Jenson Button might soon be saying the same, if Honda don't make some pretty rapid improvements in the off-season.

Matt Jenson: The Gravity of Sin
2007-05-22 22:35:00
Matt Jenson, The Gravity of Sin: Augustine, Luther and Barth on homo incurvatus in se (London: T&T Clark, 2007), 202 pp. (review copy courtesy of T&T Clark)The doctrine of sin has fallen on hard times in recent decades, especially in the wake of Karl Barth?s argument that we can speak of sin only in the light of grace, so that an independent ?doctrine of sin? becomes illegitimate. Of course, Barth himself developed a massive doctrinal account of sin; but his methodology has made subsequent generations of theologians reticent about this theme. Indeed, in a 1993 article, David Kelsey wondered: ?Whatever happened to the doctrine of sin??It seems, however, that this situation is now changing. In recent years, Eberhard Jngel has offered an intensive existential analysis of sin in his work on Justification (1999); Marilyn McCord Adams has offered a brilliant philosophical account of Horrendous Evils (1999); James K. A. Smith has argued for the hermeneutical significance of sin in...

Jenson Button “Religion blunts chances”
2007-04-08 21:44:00
Friends of Jenson Button today revealed that there might be religious aspects to the British Formula 1 driver’s lack of success in Motor Racing."Well, I know Jense well," said James Billingsworth from Frome in Somerset. "Why else would I refer to him as Jense? In his seven years in F1, and in his previous career in the lower formulae, he has never really raced on a Sunday. I think that it is a devout Christian belief."Friends believe this, rather than any question marks regarding the Englishman’s talent, is the reason for a lack of race wins and championship success."Oh certainly he will drive on a Sunday, but he just won’t compete!" claimed Mr Billingsworth, citing the Briton’s performances as evidence. "You never see him overtaking, and he doesn’t defend his position at all well, both of which would mark him out as a racing driver. What he does is drive neatly around, respecting the Sabbath."Friends point out that Button’s only F1 win came at the 2006 Hungarian Grand P...

Robert W. Jenson and Solveig Lucia Gold: Conversations with
2006-11-09 15:42:02
Robert W. Jenson and Solveig Lucia Gold, Conversations with Poppi about God: An Eight-Year-Old and Her Theologian Grandfather Trade Questions (Grand Rapids: Brazos, 2006), 158 pp.Robert W. Jenson is one of the world?s most profound, energetic and creative theological thinkers ? and in my house, there is always great rejoicing when he publishes a new book. So it was a delight to read this remarkable little volume, released just last week (with thanks to Brazos Press for the review copy). The book consists of a series of transcribed conversations between Jenson (?Poppi?) and his eight-year-old granddaughter, Solveig. The conversations were spontaneous and unscripted; each weekend while visiting her grandparents in Princeton, Solveig talked with ?Poppi? about theology, and they recorded the conversations on a cassette recorder. Their wide-ranging discussions cover everything from liturgy and Lucifer to hamsters and time machines; from church history and ancient Israel to evolution and ...
Robert W. Jenson on the priority of the future
2006-10-28 15:51:02
?The order of a good story is an ordering by the outcome of the narrated events; its animating spirit ... is the power of a self-determinate future to liberate each specious present from mere predictabilities, from being the mere consequence of what has gone before.... The great metaphysical question on the border between the gospel and our culture?s antecedent theology is whether this ordering may be regarded as its own kind of causality? ? i.e., a causality that moves backwards from the future! ?Robert W. Jenson, Systematic Theology, Vol. 1 (Oxford: Oxford University Press, 1997), p. 159.
Jenson Button captures 1st career victory in a wild Hungaria
2006-09-03 08:24:06
Round 13 in the Formula 1 World Champion, the Hungarian Grand Prix would be one for the record books as rain and a very wet racetrack would play a huge factor in what would be describe as an exciting and unpredictable race. In yesterday’s qualifying section, Kimi Raikkonen grabbing the pole, while both Alonso and Schumacher were given time penalties putting them in mid-pack of the starting grid. On the start of the race, it was the two McLaren-Mercedes up front leading the way with the Renaults and Ferraris fighting it out for position behind. The wet racetrack made for lots of passing and even more incidents, including Kimi Raikkonen’s wild airborn ride as he tried to make his way by a lap car, making contact shedding his car’s frontend in pieces putting him out of the race. By the mid-race point, it looked like Fernando Alonso had everyone covered with about a 30-second lead over second place. During the race, the racetrack had finally started to dry out on the r...
