5/11 DREAM 3 - RESULTS
2008-05-11 16:51:00
Just came back from an amazing event!! This was really a level up from the two first DREAM events. I am really disappointed that Joachim lost, but it was a great fight and both fighters had their chances. I dont think any of them should be disappointed with their efforts.Caol Uno pulled of the upset of the night and got a very good victory over Ishida. Disappointment of the night was Kawajiri acting like a spoiled brat after Uno's victory.BTW, Nick Diaz and Jason Miller were very good and entertaining in their fights! This was a very good event!Lightweight Tournament Round 2:8. Caol Uno Def. Mitsuhiro Ishida by rear-naked choke Round 2, 1:397. Eddie Alvarez Def. Joachim Hansen by decision 3-06. Tatsuya Kawajiri Def. Luiz ?Buscape? Firmino by decision 3-0Welterweight Champion Eliminator:5. Nick Diaz Def. Katsuya Inoue by TKO (towel thrown) Round 1 6:47Non-Tournament Fight:4. 5/11 DREAM 3 - Card Complete (?)
2008-05-08 15:26:00
It looks as though the DREAM 3 card it complete, still a small question mark over Nick Diaz but it looks as though he is fighting too. There is a lot to look forward to on this card! I am planning a preview of all the fights tomorrow, hopfully I can finish it. Either way, the last fighter added to the card is Pancrase title holder, Shoji. Shoji is a fighter with lots of talent, but he is yet to fight on this level. His biggest win to date was his KO win over Artur Oumakhanov in January, that victory earned him the Pancrase title. He should have a good battle against the veteran Takeshi Yamazaki.Added:Takeshi Yamazaki 13-7-2 vs. 6-2-1 Shoji MaruyamaThe complete card:Lightweight Tournament Round 2:Caol Uno 24-10-4 vs. 16-3-1 Mitsuhiro IshidaTatsuya Kawajiri 21-4-2 vs. 12-3-0 Luiz ?Buscape? 5/11 DREAM 3 - Fights Added
2008-05-02 13:19:00
DREAM has had their fair share of problems with the tournaments. Its been well documented and I don't want to spend too much time on it. NoB has summarized the problems here. There are a couple of reasons I don't want to dwell on these things too much, but basically if you have a tournament it happens. Just think of the problems Cage Force had with their tournament. I think the 2 first events has suffered because FEG rushed into them. For DREAM 3 things are looking WAY better. They are setting up reserve fights for the tournaments and also a welterweight championship eliminator fight! This is stuff I really like and I think DREAM 3 is showing signs that DREAM are serious. Add to that the possibility of a live broadcast on HDNet (I hope they can make that happen) and things are looking up!Rumor is that the winner of Diaz vs. Inoue will take on Hayato Sakurai for the welterweight championship belt.Anyway, today there were 5 fights announced:Nick Diaz 15-7-0 vs. 16-5-3 Katsuya InoueJ...

DREAM 2 and 3 Fights Announced
2008-04-04 15:00:00
DREAM has made their decision regarding the outcome of the controversial JZ vs. Aoki fight. There will be a re-match in DREAM 2. The winner of this will get to fight 2 less than 2 weeks later in the quarter final. Sounds unfair? Well, the opponent will be Nagata, who is the weakest link in my opinion. So, announced today:DREAM 2:Shinya Aoki 12-2-0 vs. 14-1-1 Gesias "J.Z." CalvancanteDREAM 3:The DREAM Lightweight Quarter-Finals were also announced, and the winners of the 2 best fights (Joachim Hansen and Eddie Alvarez) in the first round will face off against each other. The Quarter Finals:Tatsuya Kawajiri 21-4-2 vs. 12-3-0 Luiz Firmino "Buscape"Winner Aoki/JZ vs. 4-2-0 Katsuhiko NagataJoachim Hansen 17-6-1 vs. 13-1-0 Eddie AlvarezMitsuhiro Ishida 15-3-1 vs. 24-10-4 Caol Uno

As you can see, the disadvantage with the bigger organizations is the distance to the ring. It is very hard to get good action shots... As a consequence, there will be few good ones.DREAM 049Originally uploaded by japanmma Then it was time for my personal favorite. Hellboy was facing a very strong opponent in Boku. 3/15 DREAM - MAJOR SPOILER result
2008-03-15 14:09:00
Ok, I am home frome DREAM 1. For some reason I dont feel satisfied...It was a very good production. I think the reason I am not satisfied in the main event...I dont want to see it end like that... Aoki got a few elbows to the neck and couldn't continue. I think both these fighters will go through to the next round. There is no reasoning behind this, but the way it ended, its hard to justify anything else.Hellboy won, so did Alvarez. The second round will be amazing!!10- Shinya Aoki vs. Gesias "J.Z." 3/15 DREAM - Fight Order Announced
2008-03-13 15:44:00
DREAM has announced the fight order for Saturday's event. It was expected that the main event would be between Aoki and JZ, but I thought they might slip CroCop in there, they didn't.I am surprised that Oumakhanov vs. Nagata is so high up though... I think the Hansen vs. Boku fight will be better...Anyway, I think there will be some upsets in this first round. I think Eddie Alvarez will take out Dida. Also, Boku and Miyata are underestimated. I think Hellboy will win, but it is not an easy fight (as I have seen in some discussions). In the superfight, look out for Monma, another fighter I think is underestimated. This will be an awesome event, I can't wait!! Just to make it clear, I will be at the event so NO PLAY-BY-PLAY this time, sorry.10- Shinya Aoki 12-2-0 vs. 14-1-1 Gesias "J.Z." Calvancante9- Tatsuya Kawajiri 20-4-2 vs. 9-6-0 Kultar ?Black Mamba? 3/15 DREAM Fights Announced
2008-02-26 14:12:00
DREAM has announced 3 more fights in their Lightweight GP. In addition to that, it is rumored that there will be a 10 minute first round. As expected few of the big stars are facing eachother in the first round (with the exception of JZ vs. Aoki). However, there are no easy fights in this tournament and the way it is set up will lead to either big upsets or extremely interesting 2nd round.Tatsuya Kawajiri 20-4-2 vs. 9-6-0 Kultar ?Black Mamba? I know for a fact that the ticket sales are going very well, its impossible to get through on phone and the net to book buy.If you're looking for a way to kill time while trying to get through, why not try Salmon Panic? Help Joachim save the Norwegian village from the evil salmon.

A couple of things... Sherdog ranking and Joachim Hansen Blog
2008-01-08 16:04:00
There are just a couple of things I wanted to mention, not really related to each other or upcoming events...-First thing is regarding the Sherdog rankings... I am not a huge fan of rankings, basically because fighters match each other differently and therefore keeping a proper ranking is very difficult. BUT... Josh Barnett is taken out of the Sherdog rankings, due to a policy they have relating to 12 months inactivity. However, Akitoshi Hokazono stays at number 1. He has not fought since July '06. Just proves how difficult it is to keep rankings up to date... Josh has had 4 fights since Hokazono last was in the ring. http://www.sherdog.com/news/art-icles.asp?n_id=10708Just thought Id mention it...-Another thing I wanted to mention. Since Joachim Hansen now has committed to fighting in Japan and HEROs. He has also signed with a new sponsor, Opera. And with his sponsor he has set up a blog. I have updated the link to his blog on my site, this will be a good place for fans to stay up ...

2007-10-21 04:42:00
Sherdog reports that Joachim Hansen is due to make his return to the ring in Shooto event "Back to our roots 6". This would make the card one of the best in Japan this year. In my mind, rivaling the HERO`s middleweight tournament. The Sherdog source is the opponent, Eiji Mitsuoka.Already on the card we have:-Bantamweight title holder ?BJ? Kojima-Lightweight title holder Akitoshi Tamura-Female standout Megumi Fujii-Lightweight ranked #2 Antonio Carvalho-A Welterweight title fight (Nakakura vs. Endo)-Lightweight ?Lion? JOACHIM HANSEN, Una estrella en paro
2007-06-05 21:11:00
