Bob Dole On The Dole
2008-05-30 22:32:00 The politician with the most annoying voice in Congress (runner-up Joe Lieberman) will be droning before the mics with Bush turncoat Scott McClellan. Detroit Democratic Congressman John Conyers, chair of the House Judiciary Committee, wants to haul McClellan before a new hearing on the Miss Covert America Valerie Plame CIA leak case. Politico Former Senator Bob Dole brands McClellan a "miserable creature." "Your type soaks up the benefits of power, revels in the limelight for years, then quits, and spurred on by greed, cashes in with a scathing critique." Me To Bob Dole: "Your type soaks up the benefits of power, revels in the limelight for years, then quits, and spurred on by greed, cashes in... on K Street making big bucks as a rich, powerful lobbyist." Shut up, you corrupt old hypocrite! Dole represented Indonesian oil interests; the bizarre deal to let Dubai run U.S. ports. "For a $560,000 fee, Bob Dole, the former Senate majority leader and 1996 Republican presidential nominee,...

Will Kucinich's letter to House Judiciary Committee Chairman John Conyers I
2007-11-11 17:02:00 Ohio Congressman and Democratic presidential hopeful Dennis Kucinich has no intention of allowing the impeachment of Vice president Dick Cheney disappear from the national debate. Democratic leaders in congress have no stomach to take on this fight and used procedural manoevring to try to bury the impeachment resolution that Kucinich introduced in the House on November 6. But Kucinich seems to have a sort of ally or at least a sympathizer in John Conyers, the Democrat who heads the House Judiciary Committee where the impeachment debate was shifted. Late last week, Kucinich sent a letter to Conyers basically urging him to employ his influence to ensure the impeachment effort does not die. The Honorable John Conyers, Jr. Chairman Committee on the Judiciary 2138 Rayburn HOB Washington, DC 20515 Dear Chairman Conyers I am writing in support of H. Res. 799, the Articles of Impeachment which were referred to the committee relative to the Impeachment of the Vice President of the U...

2007-07-25 04:06:00 "Heck of a job, Connie." John Conyers has completely copped out on his supporters. What's worse, he had them arrested.Dave Lindorff reports: "If Rosa Parks had lived two years longer, what happened today in the halls of Congress might have killed her. It certainly would have broken her heart...." As a result, Cindy Sheehan has kept her promise to her supporters: I Announce My Candidacy Against Nancy Pelosi in California's 8th. By Cindy Sheehan "I am committed to challenging a two-party system that has kept us in a state of constant warfare for the last 60 years and has become more and more beholden to special interests and has forgotten the faces of the people whom it represents. I am committed to using our strength as a country to wage peace and to elevate the status of every citizen in our country by converting the enduring war economy to a prosperous one with lasting peace...." The hard truth is that we can't depend on our elected officials to do ANYTHING unless they are in ...
Did Rep. John Conyers Suggest Impeachment?
2007-07-09 02:16:00 See Original StoryRep. John Conyers, chairman of the House Judiciary Committee, appeared Sunday on This Week with George Stephanopoulos. He responded to questions on his committee's outstanding subpoenas in the matter of the US Attorney firings, offering the striking suggestion that growing public support for impeachment of the president might make the White House more inclined to cooperate. Conyers emphasized that his committee is continuing to negotiate with the White House, and told Stephanopoulos, "We're hoping that as the cries for Cheney and Bush now reach 46% and 58%, respectively, for impeachment, that we could begin to become a little bit more cooperative, if not even amicable in trying to get to the truth of these matters.""We're seeking cooperation," insisted Convers. This is not partisan in any way." He also told Stephanopoulos, "I didn't put impeachment on the table. I was just telling you that 46% of the American people polled want Bush impeached."Conyers refused ... |
