2008-01-14 18:09:00 Justice League Movie Doomed to Die? Hooray! I've certainly been public about my resentment of the Justice League movie previously. I don't think I'm alone here when I say that almost everything seems bad about the project (well, not the costumes). More than anything I'm on Christopher Nolan's side, where I'm worried that it will tarnish the brilliance of Batman Begins and The Dark Knight. But besides that, Warner Brothers is just doing it all wrong. They're making a Teen Titans movie with different actors (and thus different characters) and butchering it to hell with the typical Hollywood bullshit. However, an internal studio deadline is coming, and from the sounds of it, Justice League may be canned entirely! Gaslight Justice League Mods!
2008-01-12 22:01:00 I'm so bummed that these are just action figure modifications, as I'd love to buy them for my collection the kids. Inspired by the graphic novel Gotham by Gaslight, Sillof's Workshop has given the original Justice League of America a steampunk treatment. Gotham by Gaslight is an awesome book that sets Batman in the 1880's, where he fights Jack the Ripper. It's a very cool concept and I love all that neo-Victorian stuff. Be sure to check out Sillof's Workshop for close-ups of these mods. Aquaman wears a deep sea diving helmet full of water and Hawkgirl has wings made out of wooden planks and metal gears. So awesome!

Variety has posted some juicy news and details about the status of the upcoming DC comic film adaptations. There is some good and unfortunately some bad news for you guys. Comingsoon.net gives us these details: Speaking of DC Comics pics, it is highly unlikely that Bryan Singer will return to shoot the next Superman movie. (The director is finishing up Tom Cruise’s Nazi film Valkyrie, and prepping The Mayor of Castro Street). The next Superman we will see on the big screen will not be Brandon Routh, but a younger Superman among a cast of youthful superheroes in The Justice League. That movie will likely not be shot, however, until after the WGA strike is resolved. Warners is so happy with Dark Knight that their fondest hope is that Nolan will return to do another Batman.
