Kabbalah Of Excalibur
2008-07-23 18:02:00 ?' ???? ????"?Faunus 2232 Paths of Chochmah (Wisdom) according to the Gra.An interesting kabbalistic connection comes to light when considering Excalibur's legendary journey from the mystic water of the Lady's Lake into her mighty hand. The channels linking Chochmah (Wisdom, symbolized by water, #2 on the diagram) and Gevurah (Strength, symbolized by the left hand feminine power, #6 on the diagram), according to the kabbalah of the Gra, is characterized by two Hebrew letters - zayin (symbolized by a sword, channel 2-4) and yud (symbolized by a hand, channel 4-6).Thus, the mysticism of Excalibur and the Lady of the Lake fits perfectly with the 32 kabbalistic paths of Chochmah (Wisdom) according to the Gra.The combined gematria (numerology) of zayin-yud is 17, the same gematria as 'tov' meaning 'good'.

Madonna Accused of Luring A-Rod With Kabbalah
2008-07-04 12:44:00 Cynthia Rodriguez, 34, claims that Madonna, 49, has brainwashed her husband, Alex Rodriguez, 32, into thinking he and she are soulmates using kabbalah, which is breaking her five year marriage up with the New York Yankee baseball star. 10 week prior to this announcement Cynthia gave birth to their second daughter which he didn?t even show ...
Kabbalah on Pain: How to Use It to Lose It
2008-06-04 18:39:00 Another good Kabbalah for beginners book. Like the rest of the books from the Technology for the Soul series, this one directs are attention back to our egos in hopes of learning how to truly defeat the pain in our lives. The idea is brought up that there are two forms of pain in this world:1. Pain in our ego which lasts a short while.2. Pain in our body or soul that lasts a lifetime. There are also two forms of pleasure in this world:1. Pleasure for our ego, which lasts but a short while2. Pleasure for our body or soul that lasts a lifetime. The book focuses on getting the reader to admit they have an ego problem. That there is a part of them that is selfish. Sounds relatively easy, but 99% of us have a problem admitting most of our daily actions are selfish. AFTER we admit that, then we can begin the true war on our ego. Like many other books in the series, this one also expresses how important it is we have our ego, but that we must learn to control it and not the other way around.A...
Gwyneth Paltrow?s Kabbalah Quickie
2008-06-04 00:30:00 Gwyneth Paltrow?s Kabbalah Quickie Gwyneth Paltrow makes a quick visit to the Kabbalah Centre in London on Tuesday. The 35-year-old Iron Man actress is looking super pretty in pink on the July 2008 cover of Harper?s Bazaar. Gwyn recently spoke out about Hollywood having a very short memory: ?Jodie Foster was right, especially if you are a woman and especially if you are not 25. Hollywood is pretty cutthroat, and everybody has a short memory. There is always someone who is younger or hotter or prettier? Going from being a mother at home for a long time, which was the greatest time in my life, but also feel like an artist again ? that was a gift for me.? Source: Just Jared
Kabbalah on Green: Consciousness and the Environment
2008-06-03 03:12:00 A new installment in the Technology for the Soul mini-book series. The newest of the series if not for being the most topical. I liked the book, it takes a different approach to the term "green". The book, instead of focusing on rules like turning the light off when you leave a room or separate your plastics from your garbage, focuses on "greening" up the Earth and not necessarily cleaning up the Earth. There are 3 zones of giving:The red zone: where some gives to the community as a whole in hopes that their efforts will repay them. The consciousness of expecting to get paid back for your hard work feeds your ego and taints the act of giving you make. The white zone: the most righteous of givers. They give and give and give without taking, therefore what it boils down to is a never ending unloading onto the rest of the world. The green zone: the perfect balance and what we need to all achieve. Where you give enough to the community for the pure sake of sharing, but you also receiving i...

Weekly Kabbalah Tune Up
2008-06-01 21:17:00 The number one statement we need to understand this week is, we are not our bodies - we are only our soul. What's the body here for, you ask? It's the car on the road trip of life. It's the vehicle that allows us to do good actions in the world and to be a conduit for revealing positive energy. The body is a temporary means to an end. I think all of us have had those middle-of-the-night epiphanies, where we realize the depth of this statement. But it's hard to keep in our minds, and we all fall into caring what people think about us ? good or bad ? and we obsess over our reflection in the mirror. The Baal Shem Tov, a Kabbalist who lived and taught in the 18th century, reminded his students to always feel they are only soul. Yes, the body is a temple, and it's important to care for and respect it. But again, we have to reclaim our territory and care of our soul. How? Well, for starters, the soul needs to be fed. What does our soul eat? Energy, of course. The energy feeding our soul ...
Neanderthal Kabbalah
2008-06-01 20:20:00 ?'? ????? ???"?Mab 28LOL. An example of a totally neanderthal understanding of witchcraft by a rabbi - Rabbi Bar Tzadok of Kosher Torah writes:If you see nothing diabolical in witchcraft, then you obviously know nothing about its practices or its practitioners. This is what real witchcraft is about: the casting of spells in an attempt to manipulate the minds and feelings of others, the sacrifices of animals, the ripping out their organs and the drinking of their blood, the invocation of demons, and other dangerous mind altering psychological practices.Witchcraft goes under various names today to disguise itself. Under such names as Wicca and Goths, witchcraft and the likes are responsible for numerous teenage mental breakdowns, suicides, and murder.Unfortunately, we adults are enchanted by the surface delight of Harry Potter and we do not pay enough attention to what lies underneath.Parents will not foresee the inherent danger to their children while they are still young. While they...

2008-05-25 19:26:00 When the Israelites were wandering in the desert post-Egypt, it is written that they followed the cloud of honor; literally a cloud that showed them where to go, when to go, and when to stop. Nice. Too bad we don't have a cloud showing us the way to go in our lives.Well, we do. Not a cloud per se, but more like messages, signs. Have you ever had one of those "message" moments, something a friend said, a passage you randomly opened up to in a book, a piece of paper that just couldn't stay in the trash? We have to realize we receive divine guidance on a constant basis; we only need learn how to listen.I read somewhere we only hear 8% of what is said to us. 8%! What do we do with the other 92%? In order to grow spiritually, and to receive the guidance as to the best moves to make, we want to commit to listening to everyone, no matter how boring, no matter how much we disagree. You never know when the cosmos is trying to get a message through to you.It can be a very tough pill to swall...

2008-05-19 02:18:00 Kabbalah teaches when a person dies, all the Light they've revealed through their actions is released into the universe.Thursday night ? Lag B'Omer ? marks the point in time when Rav Shimon Bar Yochai, author of the Zohar, left this physical plane. All the tremendous Light he channeled during his lifetime will be revealed on this one day.Think about what this means. The Light of Immortality that powers the miracle-making machine that is the Zohar, will be available for you to tap. There are three things you can do to make sure you connect to this awesome energy. First, prepare.yourself by appreciating what's coming. If your mind is not open to the spiritual significance of Lag B'Omer, then it's hard to reap the benefits. If you own the Zohar, I recommend reading the introduction written by my father and teacher, Rav Berg. If you don't, then check out www.zohar.comSecond, this week, identify all your reactive traits that are contributing to your personal [and global] darkness, s...

How many people in your life are totally honest with you? Is there one person in your life with whom there are no blockages, no veils?Honesty truly is such a lonely word. We are terrified to say what's on our mind, either out of fear of what "they" will think, or not wanting to burden people with our terrible truths. One of the hardest things in Kabbalah - one of the hardest things in life ? is to live in an emotional environment of truth. But we need it, especially now, during the Omer when there are other forces trying to bring us down. We can better bear this heaviness if we have people to support us.But the only way others can help is if we start with truthfulness, all the time. Mind games, insecurity, closing off ? these things h...

2008-05-05 19:14:00 The Ari teaches we decrease the Light flowing into our life when we hold onto grudges. Peek beneath the surface of your life and you'll likely find old ones that have not completely healed. It doesn't matter whether they're from far back or in the more recent past, these resentments are blocking your fulfillment, literally. This is the week to root them out.According to kabbalistic teaching, we are separated from God by a sequence of ten energy fields known as the sefirot (singular, sefirah). Together, arranged in right, left, and central columns, the ten make up what kabbalists call "the Tree of Life." As we increase our spiritual competency by ascending each sefirah, we simultaneously increase our spiritual capacity, giving us the ability to connect with and contain more and more Light. In other words, we are able to draw ever nearer to the Creator. The Ari reveals when we hold grudges, the sefirot shrink, thereby narrowing our gateway to the Light. We begin to experience a short...

2008-04-28 03:34:00 Sometimes what we argue about is what brings us together.I read that on a movie poster. Genius. It totally captures the energy of the coming week. Let's face it, we all have mothers, brothers, friends, colleagues who we?how do I say this politely?we can't stand. Just being in the same room with them sends us into an emotional tizzy. The Ari reveals an amazing secret about this. He says the people we hate the most come from the same soul root as we do. It is written that all of humanity comes from the soul of Adam; we are each correcting a different part of his ?original sin.'Some of us come from the heel, some from the head, some from the heart. When we share a root soul with someone, it means we have come alive to correct similar attributes. Those of us from the head might be working on being more spiritual and less analytical, those of us from the heart might be working on having more love and compassion, those of us from the heel might be working on addiction and destructive re...

Weekly Kabbalah Tune Up
2008-04-21 02:15:00 There are days during the year that allow us to elevate above our short-circuiting world of chaos, to tap into a higher level of circuitry. These next eight days [April 19 ? 27] - the holiday of Pesach - are such days. At this time we receive spiritual support from the universe that assists us in creating a stronger circuitry in the quality of our life. The meaning of Pesach is that every year on the 15th day of the month of Aries in the lunar calendar, we're supposed to celebrate Pesach by having a special dinner ? without bread or anything leavened ? while reciting stories from a book that is a remembrance of leaving Egypt, of redemption, and of our enemies some 3,400 years ago. That's what this holiday's all about. But, Kabbalistically, there's a powerful opportunity to transform and change our life for one year and forever. It is not about remembering what happened in the past. It's about remembering what's happening now ? and knowing how to tap into that energy. We can remove ...

We're getting closer to the cause of the stink in our lives.[Before I go on, I've included a link to a lecture I gave last week for the New Moon of Aries. Please WATCH IT HERE when you have a chance.]Back to the story, this week is the ramp up to the holiday of Pesach, the time in history when the Israelites escaped slavery in Egypt and parted the Red Sea. Ghost Town
2008-04-08 22:05:00 In all of my rambling...all of my judgements and rolled eyes...there's actually only one person in this world that I actually, truly, hate. Such an ugly word and an even uglier attitude to have...especially as a Kabbalah student. This person, we'll call him Paul, played a pivotal role in the untimely death of one of my best friends. While I believe we control our own destiny and ultimately it's ourselves that do us in...my mind has a hard time separating Paul from the events that took place almost 4 years ago to the day. The interactions between Paul and my friend, we'll call Mike, were volatile and weaved together by a string of lies. Almost ripped out of a poorly made CW television drama, I found myself dicking around on Facebook, when the new feature to the side of your friends' news feeds, alerted me to some people on Facebook who share my friends and I might be interested in friending them as well. That's when Paul's profile popped up. I hadn't actually thought of hi...
Weekly Kabbalah Tune Up
2008-04-06 18:01:00 A student recently wrote to me: "I want to stop judging people but I can't. It's like breathing, it's part of who I am and what I do. I'd have an easier time holding my breath. What can I do?"The great sage known as the Baal Shem Tov said something beautiful that speaks to this, but it's not poetry or philosophy or a metaphor or a nice way to live your life. It's reality what I'm about to share with you. Here it is:Whatever annoying behavior you see in someone else is inside you. That person is a mirror showing you what you've got to correct in your life. Somewhere within your consciousness, either on the surface, mid-level, or deep within, you have the exact same trait you are judging. Now we've heard this all before. People are mirrors, we get it Yehuda. But the Baal Shem Tov goes one step further. He says, not only do you have to accept responsibility that what you see is inside of you, but you must know with certainty the person will never change until you do.That's a m...
Meditation for Aries
2008-04-04 21:39:00 (scan from right to left)(excerpted from Yehuda Berg?s 72 Names of God)No more ego.As I look into my soulI can feel the sore places whereI have been wounded by my ego:Worry over what people think about me,needing to be right, angry when things don?t go my way.As I let it go and reach for Light on a higher place, those places in my soul open up.I am free.My shackles are removed as my ego diminishesand I concentrate on what is really important:Love, friends, family, spiritual fulfillment, connection. It is not all about me and what I need. I will tap into a universal truth. When I look back at specific past events,I see the role my ego played in the situation, blocking me from true happiness.I take that moment and let it go,re-planting the seed so that something positive will grow.I feel full and strong.I am free.
Zohar Project: NY
2008-04-04 21:35:00 The student-run Zohar Project in the New York Kabbalah Centre [Zohar Light Brigade] has been busy these last few months raising money and blanketing police, fire stations and first responders with the protection of the Zohar.Students have braved whipping winds and freezing rain to go door to door throughout the five boroughs of New York City, hand-delivering mini Pinchas, full sets, and the about to be released Sacred Zohar [all 24 volumes in 1.] Police precincts, community affairs officers, and 200 fire stations were happy to receive the Zohars, many putting them directly in their offices, cars and trucks. The delivery rate was well over 90%.For the fire station outreach alone, the New York community came through by raising well over $85,000. We thought it was crucial to protect those people who would give their lives for us on a moment's notice. Whenever and wherever there is chaos, the police and firefighters are there to jump right in and save lives, so we thought that they sho...
Monthly Kabbalah Tune Up
2008-04-04 21:14:00 The energy of this month is all about coming out of the slavery of ego, our desire to receive for the self alone. It's about coming out of all that burdens us, situations we have no control over, limiting belief systems, caring what people think about us, and all the trappings of ego.During the holiday of Pesach, we can tap into this energy overnight, but we need to prepare. We can do this by seeking out uncomfortable and embarrassing situations. If our goal is to be free, we have to be willing to feel foolish. I know it sounds crazy, but imagine choosing to become embarrassed. It's such a paradox, but that's what we learn in our spiritual work: to turn into the face of discomfort instead of running away from it.Do something outrageously outside your comfort zone. What can you do to break your sense of being proper and correct? Think outside the box. Do something crazy. Put yourself out there and challenge your ego in any way that you know is uncomfortable for you. What can you do...

And trust me, you can study what I am about to reveal to you for the next thirty years [or a lifetime,] understanding step by step the process of creation as revealed in Rav Ashlag's Ten Luminous Emanations. But we're busy people, so let's get to the point.God created perfectionYou and I are part of that perfectionWe inherited the DNA of God, and we said, "Hey, you know what, we want to also create perfection."God put up a curtain, and created imperfection so that we could create perfection again. That's it.Our imperfect world was created so we could create perfection, instead of having it given to us. 2008-03-25 21:27:00 Ten silver dollars to the person who can tell me where this post's title came from.In an increasing effort to stop my eye rolling, sighs of impatience, and overall rage towards women with large shopping bags who cut me off on the sidewalk, I'm starting to think that something I learned at the Kabbalah Center seminar a couple weeks ago, is a good idea. The speaker at the seminar asked the audience how they felt when someone (literally) bumped into them on the street. The answers were merely different ways of saying "pissed off". The speaker then asked the audience how they would feel about the other person who bumped into them, knowing he or she is mentally disabled. The audience's reaction was a sharp 0 to 60 change to forgiving, patience, and understanding. That idea blew my mind that it was so easy for all of us to be filled with rage one second, then jump to Mother Theresa sainthood knowing the other person probably couldn't help it.I guess the tool here...to put it somewhat c...

2008-03-23 17:45:00 How do you have certainty when the doctor is calling with bad news, when the government is padlocking your front door, when your child is suffering from illness? Let's be realistic here, most of us aren't on that level, yet.For the rest of us who haven't yet mastered certainty consciousness, it's a process that looks like this: we have doubt, we acknowledge the doubt is from the Opponent, and we move on.Our souls don't know what fear, anxiety, or worry means. Depression? Never heard of it. It's only our ego that is blind to true reality, therefore allowing lack and uncertainty to resonate.Certainty means, although we are struggling on this path, we go forward anyway, constantly reminding ourselves, this doubt doesn't belong to me. It's the Opponent messing with my head. That's certainty. And when you take that step forward, your certainty gets stronger the next time out, so that when you fight the next round of doubts, you don't have to fight as hard.Eventually you reach a...
Losing My Religion
2008-03-18 21:07:00 I love when members of the media write about Kabbalah. It's always either a religion or a cult that is a huge Hollywood fad. It pains me to know that these people aren't even taking 5 seconds to wikipedia or google the word 'kabbalah' to learn that it's no where near a religion or a cult. It's more of a 'philosophy' if you will....that's also been around for thousands of years. Yes, long before Madonna and Sandra Bernhardt started studying. These are the same people we rely on giving us factual news? Anyway, recently, Demi Moore and Ashton Kutcher (fellow students of Kabbalah) have come under scrutiny when recent photos had found them not sporting the red string around their left wrist. News posts were flying about how Demi and Ashton "left the religion" and how "Madonna is upset over Demi and Ashton turning their back on their religion".Well, in the latest issue of V mag, he goes on to dispel some of the ridiculous claims that one can even "leave" something that's not a r...

2008-03-16 21:22:00 It's not so easy to be spiritual in tough times, is it? Why?Spirituality, by the kabbalistic definition, means facing chaos and transforming it into order. It means you walk into the eye of the hurricane and you turn it into a sunny day. That's the definition of spiritual. The chaos of life is what gives us the opportunity. Our instinct is to run from chaos. When there is a mortgage crisis, global crisis, political crisis, environmental crisis, it's an opportunity to be transformed into its opposite state. This transformation is not something that takes place externally, which is what the Opponent makes us think. Rather, it's got to be transformed within our own consciousness. Science teaches us the law of cause and effect. You plant an apple seed ? that's the cause ? and when the apples appear dangling on the branches ? that's the effect. Taking it one step further, Kabbalah teaches the same. Consciousness is the cause, the physical world is the effect. Kabbalists don't go ar...

She Lost Control? Awhhaaaaaaaaaaat?
2008-03-14 20:44:00 Ok...so I know I promised not to post about Britney...but here it is. Reports are going around that Britney paid $2,000 to have her "Kabbalah" tattoo removed from the back of her neck."Back in 2004, after briefly falling in with Madonna and her Kabbalah clique, Britney Spears had the Hebrew letters, "mem," "hey," and "shin" tattooed on the nape of her neck. While some claim this combination of letters, "evokes the consciousness of healing," other reports say it's "just gibberish."Doesn't matter much now, as recent photos appear to show that the mother of two has has done a bit of tattoo erasing.According to one source, the pop princess recently spent $2,000 having the tattoo laser-removed. And friends are saying Brit had the tattoo removed to express the tailspin her life entered in the last year."When she got the tattoo, Britney was in control of her life and her career," one pal says. "The whole world can see she's lost control, and the tattoo made her feel like a hypocrite." [...

2008-03-13 17:29:00 Well! I got the chance to sneak out of work last night and head on over to the Kabbalah Center on East 48th for the Best Kept Secret free seminar. I had gone to a free lecture there before and I assumed this seminar would be different, and it was.For the most part....I arrived a half hour before the seminar started, to sign in, and the lobby was PACKED. They were signing people in, selling huge ass cookies, coffee, water, etc. and people were just mingling waiting to go upstairs for the seminar. So I signed in and stood by the elevators hoping to snag a seat in the back so I could observe from a far.Well I got upstairs in the first elevator group and they told me to sit in the front (damn!). Oh well. So I was dead center for the seminar...in between a hyper gay queen and an obviously straight man who took notes the entire time.It was nice to see so many people without the red string...which says that the Center was able to draw in outside crowds of people who would be actually inter...
The Kabbalah of Haman - Part 1
2008-03-12 22:21:00 by R. Nati at Mystical PathsIt's parshas Zachor this week, we're supposed to remember to wipe out the name of Amalek. But why this eternal command, what trait is so horrible that it must be eliminated from this world? Rebbe Nachman teaches that for one to have Malchus, to gain rulership or influence over people, one must loath the desire for wealth. Reb Noson of Breslov explains, this is why Amalek seeks to blemish holy wealth, to make a person desirous of wealth, as this will prevent a person from obtaining Malchus of Holiness. (Torat Natan 20)Our goal in this world is to subdue our desire to serve ourselves, to exercise our malchus for our own self gratification, but to nullify that negative desire and use our malchus only to serve Hashem. Malchus is an aspect of gatherer, it can give over nothing of it's own, it only gives over what it has received.Malchus of the Sitra Achra, the reflection of Holiness in the Other Side, gathers up money. Since it's fearful that we might...

Yet, too often we settle for less because we become consumed with doubt. That?s why the greatest challenge we face in life is defeating our own doubt. It?s not easy. Uncertainty is so ingrained in our consciousness that we are blindly conditioned to it. Fortunately, the Creator assists us in removing aspects of ourselves that are of darkness. The holiday of Purim is one such assistance. Known as the Holiday of Joy, Purim has the energy of destroying doubt. As Rav Brandwein taught the Rav, ?there is nothing that creates greater joy than the removal of doubts.? Because once we remove doubts about ourselves, there are no barriers blocking our true greatness. During Purim we can connect with this energy by listening to the reading the Book of Esther, which gives ...
Weekly Kabbalah Tune Up
2008-03-09 22:30:00 Let's face it, we've all hurt people in ways in which we'd hate to admit. And those of us who are aware of the universal law of cause and effect are concerned about the spiritual damage we have done. I wrote about this a few weeks ago and the response was overwhelming. Many of you really took the message to heart and began owning up to some behaviors you've been hiding from. I bring this topic up again because I cannot stress enough how important it is to hold ourselves accountable to our deeds. Because if we don't, the universe will. King David wrote, "I always hold my sins before me." All too often we remember the good things we've done and forget the bad. The Light, however, works in the opposite manner, remembering what is forgotten and forgetting what is remembered. When we draw attention to our positive actions by sitting back and thinking, "Wow, look at me, look at what I did, aren't I amazing, where is my reward for this," we suck the Light out of our actions of shari...
Weekly Wisdom: Real Certainty
2008-03-07 19:53:00 The problem with life?s tests is that we always perceive before we go into a test that it will be difficult, but we think that whatever I understand now will sort of help me through it. In reality, when a person goes through a test, what he thought he had to sustain him has to be taken away or it is not a true test.In the story of the Golden Calf, we know that the fall came in the last 6 hours before Moshe was supposed to return. The Midrash explains how the Israelites fell? There was a vision created of the death of Moshe. The Israelites saw Moshe was dead and being carried by the angels. Then came the question, are you going to have certainty in Moshe who said he would be back in 40 days, or are you going to believe your eyes? When we go through tests of consciousness, whatever clarity we had is not there anymore. And not only is it not there any more, the opposite is there. The Zohar talks very clearly of certainty referring to Jacob. Very often people mistake certainty as being ce...

Weekly Kabbalah Tune Up
2008-03-02 17:21:00 On Friday, March 7th, we begin the second month of Pisces. Two Pisces? What gives? The regular [Gregorian] calendar is based on the Earth?s revolution around the Sun; it is comprised of 365 days in a regular year and 366 days in each fourth or leap year. By contrast, the kabbalistic calendar is based upon the lunar calendar; it is comprised of 355 days in a regular year, each month corresponding to one of the twelve signs of the Zodiac (12 x 29/30).However, seven times in nineteen years there occurs a leap year, which contains an additional (thirteenth) month, Pisces II. This means the correspondence between the lunar and solar calendar is maintained.Kabbalistic astrology is based on the lunar calendar because the moon represents the desire to receive, the true essence of humanity. Therefore, kabbalistic astrology reveals the true basis and nature of our existence. (You can earn more about kabbalistic astrology here)What all this means to us is on the 7th we get to genetically modify...

Weekly Kabbalah Tune Up
2008-02-24 17:07:00 I was at a coffeehouse the other day and overheard a conversation between a father and his son. The son, who appeared to be home from college, asked his dad, "Do you think there will be peace in the Middle East?" The father put down his paper and said, "You can't get along with your mother, how do you expect the Palestinians and the Israelis to get along?"After a good laugh, I got to thinking how wise and profound that simple statement was. It's easy to get behind a cause or a political figure or a movement but perhaps causes and political figures and movements would be more effective if we got behind the most important cause of all - creating peace between me and everybody in my life. The Kabbalists' solution to peace in the world is to address the root cause of fragmentation and separation in the world:our own intolerant behavior towards one another.Picture this: you wake up in a bad mood. Rather than be the loving husband, mother, or father you normally are, you are a little gr...
Weekly Kabbalah Tune Up
2008-02-17 23:48:00 I read a response recently from someone who read a Tune Up in which I mentioned getting bullied as a kid. He confessed that he was a bully in his youth. Now that he has kids and is more spiritual, he has this pit at the bottom of his stomach when he thinks about all the people who are afraid of their shadow because of the torture he inflicted upon them.On a human level he is afraid of the damage he did and on a personal level he's terrified of the karma he created for himself.Rather than answer him directly I thought I'd answer here because we all have done things we wish we could take back prior to becoming as enlightened as we are today. And chances are, we are still doing damage, knowingly or not.Sure, hindsight is 20/20, but what can we do now, on a practical level, to wash our hands of the damage done? There is a time of year [Virgo] when the universe supports us in going back to review our past actions and repair the holes we created. But we don't have to wait for Virgo to c...

Weekly Kabbalah Tune Up
2008-02-11 04:47:00 We are now in the month of Pisces, also known as the month of Joy. Happiness is upon us. Do you feel it?If you have been studying Kabbalah for any amount of time, you know that happiness isn't something that just appears or disappears. It's something you have to create.Happiness can actually be one of the most reactive emotions because we tend to spend our lives waiting for things to happen that will make us happy: I'll be happy when I get promoted, when I have a boyfriend, when I lose the weight. This is such a flawed belief system. Waiting for any external force to awaken our joy and happiness is precisely what keeps us lacking in joy and happiness. Happiness is a choice we make and must continue to make repeatedly. But what do you do when the conditions of your life aren't exactly joyful? Kabbalists recommend faking it till you make it. In other words, if you can't find the strength within, awaken it from without. Let's remember that it's our five senses that preve...
Zain
Letras Hebreas Eli
Weekly Kabbalah Tune Up
2008-02-03 19:22:00 One important thing to remember is that desire is what draws us together. Desire for world peace, desire for love, desire for pizza, desire for new shoes. No matter how profound or trivial, human desires are our common link. And everyone desires happiness. Yet we often mistake someone else's search for happiness as being "anti-me."How often, for example, have you thought a friend, a teacher, or a relative was mad at you because they'd been giving you less attention than usual, only to discover they'd had a personal tragedy in their lives - perhaps a death, an illness, or a family quarrel - that was simply making them withdraw for a bit? Not just from you, but from everyone, until they felt settled again.I once knew a young woman called Anna [not her real name] who ran into the sister of her first great love, Matt [not his real name.] The two women chatted for a while, and then Anna gave her number to Matt's sister, who said she would happily pass it along. Anna was incredibly e...
Gwyneth Paltrow Takes a Hit of Kabbalah
2008-02-02 00:19:00 Gwyneth Paltrow is seen here, ducking into the Midtown Kabbalah Centre in Manhattan. Now, I knew she was BFF with Madonna, but I didn't realize she was interested in Kabbalah as well--or as I like to refer to it, Kabboring, since after Madonna joined, she started being so damn boring. No more sex books and cone bras. It seems that Gwyneth stayed for about an hour and I'm not sure exactly who this guy is, but he looks like he was sent from the future to protect Gwyneth from the Terminator. Only, he looks kind like a grey Billy Dee Williams. Maybe it's future Billy Dee Williams. I don't know what I'm saying. I've had too much coffee. Photos: BauerGriffinOnline.com More photos of Gwyneth Paltrow leaving the Kabbalah Centre are after the jump.
Pesach!
2008-01-29 04:46:00 Dear Friend,On behalf of the Rav, Yehuda, Michael - and everyone here at The Kabbalah Centre - we invite you to join us for:April 18 - 26, 2008Westin Diplomat Hotel3555 South Ocean Drive, Hollywood, Florida 33019We all want to understand ourselves better, to live more fulfilling lives, to have a richer experience of who we are and what we are here to contribute. All of us want to be happy. And in truth, most of us really want the same things out of life: we want to love and be loved; we want to have satisfying relationships; we want to enjoy financial security; we want our children to be happy and safe. So what prevents us from getting what we want? You guessed it.The ego.Our need to be right, our me-first attitude, our selfish thinking puts obstacles in the way of receiving our true fulfillment. But on Pesach we are able to erase our egos, if just for a moment, and to see what life is really supposed to be like. Why we are here. Why things happen the way they do. How our lives...

Weekly Kabbalah Tune Up
2008-01-27 17:45:00 We've all got baggage. Everyone has a war story from their childhood. Granted, some are worse than others, but we are all prisoners of patterns that were formed in our early years. But the baggage also goes back further than youth. We're talking past lifetimes. If you think reincarnation is new age nonsense, you might want to delete this email now. I won't be offended. If you're still reading, then you connect with the idea that your soul is on an eternal journey - and it has made some bad choices along the way. Again, some worse than others. This soul baggage manifests as negative repetitive patterns. The question is, how do we know when it's a childhood thing, and when it's a past life thing? Easy. If it's from this lifetime, it's possible to connect the dots. If it's from another lifetime, the dots don't line up.Let me explain. Let's say you feel abused by your boss. If you take an honest look at yourself, it's possible you will connect it to the heavy hand ...
Weekly Kabbalah Tune Up
2008-01-20 17:41:00 Last week I asked: If God is infinite, and includes infinite solutions to our problems, couldn't God also come up with the solution to the ultimate paradox of existence? How do we experience infinite pleasure without having to experience infinite pain? The good news is, God solved the paradox.Did you ever watch a Hollywood action movie and see the star jumping off a train? In most cases, is it the actor flinging him or herself off the train? No. It's the stunt double that absorbs the pain.God created something to take the pain for us, too. You may be familiar with it. It's called your ego.Either your soul can experience pain or the ego can experience it. Either your soul can experience profound sadness, or you can let the ego do its job and experience it.Yes, the ego came here to take your pain. Every time you recognize the ego, you can appreciate and earn the fulfillment. All you need to do is take the momentary pain of saying, "Wait, it's not me. It's the ego."But God ...
Tarot Cards And The Kabbalah
2008-01-17 00:00:00 The origins of the Tarot deck and its associated interpretive meanings may never be known with empirical certainty. However, one school of thought subscribed to by Kabbalistic occultists is that the Tarot deck stems from Jewish mysticism. Some occultists even go as far as to say it was an abstract code developed by ...
