2008-04-27 20:42:00 Kail: True Hollywood SquaresLA rapper Kail, releases True Hollywood Squares, a concept album where he assumes a different persona with every song.The album starts with a skit that introduces each character as a square in the familiar game show Hollywood Squares. The first song he assumes the role of the host of the game show, called "The Realest Muthafuckin' Tour Guide Ever".Until I saw the cover of the album I really thought Kail was white. Something about his rapping style just reminds me of underground white rappers. His repeated use of the n-word is what first prompted me to check his race.Production wise I think the album is really tight. Because each track is a new character, each track has very distinct production. "Wendy" employs an 8-bit Nintendo synth sound over a beat that reminds me a lot of Spank Rock.
