2008-02-07 23:39:00 The Klaxons' "Golden Skans" was one of last years most addictive singles that too many people haven't heard of. A ton of people have covered it recently, so here's a best-of post to brief you on the highlights.I know this is my second post in a row to feature both Daniel Merriweather and Mark Ronson, but oh well. It's a damn good cover. I actually have no idea where this came from, all I know is that it showed up on iMeem somehow. Their version is a little more understated, a little more soulful, and of course, includes Ronson's signature trumpets. Next up is Kaiser Chiefs, who bring the expected acoustic-indie dynamic to the song when they covered it on Radio One.Finally, we got Stephanie Kennedy, an indie-acoustic performer from the UK, we slows the song down to give it a down-tempo-jazz feel that works better than expected.

This 7" is the only commercial format for this single, and will be sold exclusively via pre-order direct to the fans, and on the road on the UK Arena Tour later in the year (where The Little Ones are opening most shows), we'll not be putting any into regular shops. There's a video for "Love's Not A Competition (But I'm Winning)" shot last month at Columbus Circle on West 59th & Broadway, New York we're really proud of it, it looks great. El caso es que el nuevo letrero hace parecer al Salón 21 como de ficheras jaja pero eso ya no me incumbe, realmente sólo querÃa decir que el letrero nuevo... pues... brilla. Ja. But when you travel constantly for a year and do the number of shows we do you sometimes you have to let people down. Whatever has appeared in the press about us not caring about our American fans is of course nonsense. It's a classic case of misquoting! Ricky was quoted as saying 'the US is no big deal'' what he meant was that we care about all our fans in every part of the world the same, so cancelling the US is exactly like cancelling in Europe. We hate dissapointing fans and will make it up to everyone. The reason we cancelled is because we needed to have some time to write and finish new songs before the European and UK tour and with our schedule there was no other time to do this. Live 105 BDF Bloc Party Rock Festival Countdown to June 9 "Mini-Cochella"
2007-06-09 07:19:00 Did you miss Coachella? Well, there?s good news for alternative and indie rock fans in the San Francisco Bay Area and elsewhere who did. There's a "mini-Cochella" (what's Coachella?) without the searing heat of the central southern California desert. On Saturday, June 9, San Francisco rock station 105 Live FM is hosting an impressive line-up of artists from the indie rock scene, including Bloc Party, Interpol, Social Distortion, Kaiser Chiefs, Cold War Kids, CSS, Shiny Toy Guns and many more (full listing below). The all-day festival begins at 11:30 am at the famous Shoreline Amphitheatre in Mt. View, California, approximately 30 miles south of San Francisco. The Shoreline has both enclosed and lawn seating (see below for ticket information) The all-day concert is expected to sell out, so get your tickets now.
