At McCain-For-Prez HQ It’s a massive FIRING. It’s a collassal “shakeup“. Bush should've axed Karl Rove in Miss Covert America Valerie Plame CIA leak case. Former press flack Scott McClellan to Tim Russert on "Meet The Press." VideoMaureen Dowd NYT: McClellan did not realize the value of a favorite maxim ? ?The truth shall set you free? ? until he was hung out to dry by his bosses in the Valerie Plame affair, repeating the lies Karl Rove and Scooter Libby brazenly told him about not being the leakers. ?Clearly,? McClellan says, sounding like the breast-heaving heroine of a Victorian romance, ?I had allowed myself to be deceived.? He felt ?something fall out of me into the abyss.?It could be Pillsbury doughboy Scottie McClellan who denies John McCain the presidency. Frank Rich NYT "McCain's McClellan Nightmare": Mr. McClellan isn?t a sizzling TV personality, or, before now, a household name beyond the Beltway. The "get" of the moment Scott McClellan on the "Today" show this a.m with his book #1 on Amazon. There are several kinds of Washington memoirs: ?I Reveal the Honest Truth,? a kiss-up-and-tell designed to settle scores (nod to honesty optional). ?I Was There at the Start,? designed to make the author appear to be the linchpin of history. And, most tedious: ?I Knew It Was a Terrible Mistake, but I Didn?t Mention It Until I Got a Book Contract.? NY Times editorial"...McClellan is an exceptionally nice guy." NYP McClellan's book contrasts sharply with his spin before the jaded WH press corps when he was on Bush's watch. Wash Post ABC News "An affable Texan, McClellan was extremely well-liked by White House press corps regulars and was accessible off-camera. I missed last night’s “debate” between Democratic candidates Hillary Clinton and Barack Obama. From what I can tell this morning, that was the smartest thing I did all day. I’ve read a good bit about it and seen some video and it looks like what transpired in Philadelphia may have been a new low-water mark in American journalism. Let’s see what people are saying. We’ll start at Crooks & Liars, which has video of the debacle. Next let’s check in at the ABC “News” Web site, where the network’s viewers are still engaging in one of the bloodiest nard-stompings I’ve ever seen. Nearly 16,000 comments as I write, and the consensus is not a happy one. SenateGuru explains why G-Steph should be embarrassed. Yes, Charlie, the crowd is turning on you. Because you’re a joke. And he is not even fired. He has been demoted. H...

Karl Rove Exposed

TV Newser: "Karl Rove, right? The former Bush deputy chief of staff and current Fox News contributor is featured in a lengthy Q&A by Lisa DiPaulo on GQ's web site today. It's Lisa DePaulo, not DiPaulo. I've known Miz Lisa since her short tenure at Washingtonian Magazine. Her piece (in which she interviewed me) on dating men in DC was the best-selling (and controversial) cover in, I think, 1992. Lisa regaled readers with her tales of narcissistic DC men whose idea of a date was sitting around watching videos of their "Meet The Press" appearances. So Lisa, a brilliant, uniquely inquisitive ballsy journalist, beautiful frustrated bachelorette, and a fellow Capricorn, Scorpio rising like me, bailed Powertown after six months and went back to Philadelphia mag. Then to NYC. Wrote for JFK Jr's "George" mag, NY mag, Vanity Fair, and more. Now at GQ here is Lisa's piece on Karl Rove from whence the egregious misspelling came. Karl Rove: Stop Calling Obama ?Hussein?
2008-02-28 07:09:00
That title was not a misprint. Even Karl Rove, Bush?s right hand man, has reportedly told Republicans to stop calling Obama by his middle name Hussein. According to The Atlantic.com, Karl Rove met with Republican state directors in a closed door meeting in January, and told them they should not go down to that level. Rove told Republicans that calling him Barack Hussein Obama would give voters the impression that Republicans are bigots and could potentially damage the party. ?The context was, you're not going to stigmatize this guy. You shouldn't underestimate him,? one of the directors said. Rove suggested that Republicans refer to Hillary Clinton as Senator Clinton and Barack Obama as Senator Obama, the honorific which they have earned. Rove?s efforts obviously fell on deaf ears. At a McCain rally on Tuesday, Bill Cunningham called Obama by his full name every chance he got. McCain later apologized for the remarks. On Monday, the Tennessee R...

By- Suzie-Q @ 7:55 PM MST MCain’s Ties To Lobbyists = Telecom Immunity Everyone’s all a titter about Sen. John McCain’s “inappropriate relationship” with lobbyist Vicki Iseman. I personally could care less whether or not the self-confessed Senior Adulterer from Arizona and Iseman are romantically entangled (other than the mere thought of McCain entangling anything ...

This is the best they can do?
2008-02-12 05:18:00
My major concern about Obama has been what the Rovian Swiftboaters would do to him after he became the nominee. He has actually been giving them some ammo himself like his comments on drug use. Well I guess this is apparently the first day that the Rovians have Obama in their sights. Oh, my. Barack Obama may want to call his new Houston office and suggest some decorating ideas. Take a look at the flag flying in the office at the moment:No, that's not a Texas state flag with a picture of Obama on it. It's the flag of the Castro-led Cuba regime, with Che Guevara's face superimposed on the side. The politburo diktat 2.0 gets it right. Remember the ?vast right wing conspiracy?? I think this is the ?half vast? ve...

Karl Rove Predicts Sen. Hillary Clinton Will be Democratic Nominee

Presently, both Sen. Barack Obama and Sen. Hillary Clinton are in a dog-fight to win states through hard-core primary and caucus voting, while also trying to attract delegates and superdelegates en route to the magic number of total delegates needed to become the Democratic party presidential nominee.Last night on Hannity & Colmes (yes, I actually watch Fox News regularly now!), Karl Rove broke down his analysis of the upcoming Democratic primary and caucus elections, forecasting Sen. Clinton as the party's overall winner.I'm still unsure if his analysis is dead-on, or if he is trying to "persuade" Americans into choosing Sen. Clinton, knowing darn-well that Sen. Clinton just doesn't resonate well with the average American, which may increase the odds a Republican nominee can win the general presidential election. In the meantime, the Obama Camp must IMMEDIATELY target and increase its emphasis with all Latino voters, target Texas, target Ohio and continue the grassroots effor...
