The video from YouTube is embedded below (Keepon Dancing to Spoon’s “Don’t You Evah”). The still before the video started reads: Keepon, the dancing yellow robot, was designed and built by his video co-star, roboticist and psychologist Hideki ...

Video ? Keepon Dancing Robot Gets into the Groove
2007-08-16 20:09:00 If you?ve had a particularly stressful day or are feeling a little fed up this video featuring the Keepon Dancing Robot is sure to bring a smile to even the sternest of faces. The Keepon Robot, which is designed by Hideki Kozima, is a curiously styled critter who?s just about as cute as can be (and I think I?ve only ever used the word ?cute? twice in over 750 posts here at TFTS) and has been developed in order to assist in research examining dance orientated nonverbal play between robots and children and, as well as featuring two cameras as eyes and a microphone in its nose to allow it to interact with children, it can also react in time to music in a gloriously infectious fashion. You can see the Keepon Robot in action in the video below and, trust us, be prepared to find yourself smiling. (Incidentally, we would recommend watching the video through to the end as the finale is well worth waiting for as a host of other robots get in on the action.) And if you enjoyed that, you m...

2007-08-16 15:35:00 Filed under: Robots Step off those treadmills OK GO, there's a new indie music video on YouTube ready to help us nerds locate our groove muscle. Spoon's "Don't You Evah" features the toxically cute Keepon dancing robot developed by Carnegie Mellon and Japan's National Institute of Communications Technology. Be sure to hang in 'til the end for the robot dance party which features Manoi, RB2000 and a Johnny Five wannabe getting tore-up from the floor-up in that mad servo style. Keepon Dancing Robot Has Some Smooth Moves
2007-05-15 18:07:00 This little snowman guy probably dances much better than the guy who made it. He recognizes a beat and moves along to it with a very impressive accuracy. If you watch it for awhile, you’ll notice that his dancing style changes as he goes along; my favorite is the disco groove. [via HackedGadgets] Tags: robots, music
Tanz-Musik-Roboter Keepon
Hier tanzt Keepon zu "I Turn My Camera On" von der Band Spoon.
