Iggles Sign QB Casey Hansen
2008-05-07 09:30:00 It looks like the Birds found themselves a developmental QB prospect. Casey Hansen signed a 3 year contract yesterday. Now this article says Hansen will have a shot to compete for a job, but in reality unless somebody gets hurt or traded the QB situation is pretty much set in Philadelphia. Donovan McNabb is obviously not ...
McNabb is Here to Stay
2008-02-07 12:53:00 It’s time to put an end to all of these rumors right now. Donovan McNabb is under contract with the Philadelphia Eagles, and will remain an Eagle for all of 2008. He will be under center week 1 in September. The fact is the Eagles believe they are close to winning a Championship. As crazy as ...

QB Change for Phins
2007-11-14 20:09:00 Coach Cam Cameron has decided to make a quarterback change for Sunday's visit to Philadelphia and give rookie John Beck his first career start in place of Cleo Lemon, said a source close to the team.Cameron notified the quarterbacks of his decision this morning. The determination to start Beck seemed to signify a change of heart since he met with his quarterbacks on Tuesday.A source said Lemon left the meeting thinking he would be making his fifth consecutive start, while Cameron made it clear that Beck should be ready for his first game action if Lemon and 0-9 Dolphins were to struggle.Lemon also left the meeting aware that Beck will become the starter at some point because the team needs to evaluate him this season.Later Tuesday, Cameron telephoned Lemon and told him he wanted to give his decision some more thought. Cameron told Lemon Wednesday Beck would handle all of the snaps with the first-team offense this week. Beck has shared snaps equally with Lemon in practice recently.B...
Reid and McNabb Deserve a Pass
2007-11-09 15:54:00 Get Rid Of Reid?:The Eagles are off to a dreadful start this season. I doubt anybody expected a 3-5 record to this point of the season. While everybody is searching for answers, let me remind them of this.Andy Reid is a great coach. Take a look at his body of work in Philadelphia. In 2006, Reid overcame a 5-6 start and the loss of two of their most explosive players in quarterback Donovan McNabb and defensive end Jevon Kearse in leading the team to season-ending, five-game win streak to capture the NFC East division championship. The 2004 Eagles clinched the NFC East title with five games remaining in the regular season and the #1 seed in the NFC playoffs after a 13-1 start. Along the way, Reid passed Greasy Neale (66) for the most wins in franchise history. The Eagles earned their first trip to the Super Bowl since 1980 after defeating Atlanta in the NFC Championship game.In 2003, the Eagles overcame a 0-2 start and a slew of injuries to post their second consecutive 12-win season. D...
Eagles Beat Vikings 23-16
2007-10-29 01:34:00 A Win is a Win:This was not a dominating performance, or a very convincing win by any means. In the end though all that matters is that the Eagles leave Minnesota with a W. They have let a few of those get away this year, and this was a much needed win. At the end of the year nobody asks who you beat, or how bad you beat them, they just ask how many games did you win. At this point the Eagles will take them any way they can get them.Red Zone Improves:The Eagles are scoring touch downs believe it or not.The offense was not great, but much improved in the red zone. Some creative play calling helped out.I loved the shovel pass to Westbrook. They play had great design, and it worked perfectly. Jason Avant lined up in the backfield between Westbrook, and Tapeh. Then Avant motioned to the slot, bringing the Vikings MLB with him. McNabb sold the fake very well, and Westbrook just waltzed into the end zone. Plays that are designed that well, usually tend to work. Give a lot of credit to And...
Giving Kevin Kolb the Benefit of the Doubt
2007-04-29 03:02:00 By Michael Johns I wouldn't exactly call Jeffrey Lurie, the owner of my beloved Philadelphia Eagles, a good friend, or even a friend at all really. But we share enough in common: the same birthday (September 8th) and a passionate love for the Eagles, which in my case goes back to the age of six or seven, with fond memories of Ron Jaworski and Bill Bergey. Mr. Lurie's history is actually not as deeply rooted in the green and white: he comes from Boston, then headed to Hollywood to run some movie production company, neither of which you would find too commonly among the old 700-level Veterans Stadium fans that have deep emotional investments in this team. But suffice it to say that he's now the CEO of the company I have long admired the most--and, on that basis alone, Mr. Lurie has earned a place in my world. But there's at least a little more to my history with Mr. Lurie and maybe, today being NFL Draft day, some relevant lesson that can be drawn from it as it relates to today's ...
