2008-03-22 17:47:00 I can’t say that Kevin Rose of Digg.com has ever been dead on, or even remotely close to being correct when it comes to rumors or leaks regarding the iPhone. In his weekly Digg podcast, Kevin referred to the new iPhone as the “iPhone Pro, or whatever†featuring 3G support and a second camera behind the glass faceplate for video conferencing. The release of the iPhone pro is “in a few months,†according to Kevin. I think Kevin might be right on the time frame. 2007-12-21 10:36:00 If you haven’t heard yet, Digg is for sale. And they haven’t just raised a for sale sign, they actually hired a private investment firm to shop around seeing if anyone is interested. Much of the discussion on the Internet right now is about the price tag: $300 million. Some say it’s too much, others say it’s fair. Honestly I don’t think that is the most important point. The question that strikes me is: why would Kevin Rose and his crew want to sell Digg in the first place? People sell companies mostly for two reasons: they need the money to invest in some other project, or they think the ship is sinking and want to cash in before it’s too late. Digg recently sealed a wealthy contract with Microsoft, and sister company Revision3 is growing quite well, which leads me to think that the second option might be the right one. Not that Digg will sink overnight. They are far too big for that to happen. The Titanic of social bookmarking sites, if you will....

2007-07-10 19:24:00 Hello folks, I've just finished reading a great story on Businessweek I thought worth mentioning. Its about Kevin Rose latest venture called: Pownce. And its quite an amazing story. I really like Kevin and admire his spirit of entrepreneurship, and he's really bold!Seriously I think he and Jay Adelson has done a terrific job over at Digg and at Revision3.What I particularly like about Rose is his great sense of style, and his notion of how users approach and treat different internet services, I think its a great skill he has acquired during his past ventures.Anyway investors are observing Rose moves and willing to invest more than ever before even though all of his previous companies have been cashed out.
