Keyshawn Johnson And His Buddy Bill Clinton
2008-03-17 10:40:00
The best part of this video is when Keyshawn Johnson and Bill Clinton are first walking onto the stage. Key waves to the crowd like they’re actually cheering for him. Yeah man, you’re walking with Bill Clinton and behind you there’s a sign that has hillaryclinton.com at the bottom, but the crowd is there to see you. It’s not all bad for Keyshawn though. The former Prez says that they’re friends that go way back, and Keyshawn seemed to be doing fine in front of the crowd.. Like a natural politician. If Keyshawn Johnson was to go into politics, he should team up with Kevin Johnson. The two of them could run a Johnson & Johnson campaign with a slogan of “Just give us the damn vote”. Winner. Keyshawn Johnson considering return; Dolphins a possibility
2008-02-19 20:14:00
We first heard the rumors about Keyshawn Johnson possibly returning to the NFL about 2 weeks ago when it was reported that Bill Parcells had reached out to Johnson and told him there's a spot in Miami for him if he so chooses. Now it seems Johnson is, indeed, considering a return to the NFL.  Here's what Keyshawn told Yahoo! Sports: "I like challenges. The challenge of helping to turn a team around, to help get it to the next level, that gets my competitive fires burning. I have the itch, and right now I'm trying to decide how strong that itch is." Obviously, with Johnson having a great relationship with Parcells, and now with Johnson saying he likes the "challenge of helping turn a team around," it's easy to see why the Dolphins are likely suitors for Keyshawn.   Yahoo's Michael Silver writes this about the Parcells/Johnson relationship: The two men speak frequently, though Johnson says they have not discussed his possible signing with the Dolphins in anything b...
Keyshawn Johnson Coming To The Miami Dolphins? Terrell Owens Wins.
2008-02-15 23:24:00
I’m a little late on this story, but I got such a kick out of it that I just HAD to post this. So Keyshawn Johnson is apparently mulling over a possible return to the NFL to play for the Miami Dolphins. Having his close buddy Bill Parcell’s running the show in South Beach has made his return to the game a little bit more enticing. All of this makes me think back to December, when Terrell Owens and Keyshawn got into it and T.O. pulled Keyshawn’s ho card: “I’m probably the reason he’s in the booth now. He’s going to be a hater and throw me under the bus because he has to defend Bill. He won a Super Bowl and all, but you’d have to check the roster to know he was even on the team. “We came out in the same year. He was a first-rounder and I was a third. Go compare our stats. He couldn’t come down here now and be a third or fourth receiver on this team. Just compare our stats.” Terrell called Keyshawn’s skills and career into question, an...
REPORT: Keyshawn Johnson coming to Miami??
2008-02-06 04:26:00
CBS4 is reporting that Bill Parcells has reached out to Keyshawn Johnson about potentially joining the Miami Dolphins: Dolphins Vice President of Football Operations Bill Parcells is telling Keyshawn Johnson that if he un-retires he can have a job in Miami.  Sources are telling CBS4 Sports that Parcells is reaching out to his former receiver in New York and Dallas about possibly joining the Dolphins. Alright.  What isn't discussed here is if Keyshawn would be coming to the Dolphins as a player or as an assistant on Tony Sparano's staff.  My guess would be as a player, but I won't make any assumptions. If it is as a player, then this is certainly a HUGE deal.  Johnson hasn't played since 2006, when he caught 70 passes for 815 yards and 4 touchdowns.  Recently, it was reported by Chris Mortensen that the Panthers reached out to Keyshawn in the middle of 2007 after losing Maurice Stovall.  Johnson responded to that report that by saying he enjoys hi...

Terrell Owens vs. Keyshawn Johnson
2007-12-13 00:20:00
T.O. and Keyshawn are in the midst of a media catfight over nothing, but it sure is entertaining. Keyshawn has taken offense to Terrell’s comments about Bill Parcells in the last few weeks, and decided to call out Owens on NFL Sunday Countdown a few days ago. The basic gist of his statement was that the ...
Video: Keyshawn Johnson Interviews Chad Johnson
2007-10-21 22:42:00
Keyshawn Johnson interviewed Chad Johnson for ESPN’s NFL Sunday Countdown and the situation got a little tense. Keyshawn has jumped on the bandwagon that says Chad Johnson’s celebrating has turned into a distraction. One thing that completely drives me crazy about Keyshawn is, he spent his entire career being an outspoken maverick in the NFL ...
So who's the "big name"?
2007-06-27 17:16:00
Outgoing Green Bay Packers director of player development George Koonce says that the Packers are going to add a "big name" on offense prior to training camp according to his comments on a Milwaukee radio show.So who's it going to be?Michael David Smith over at Pro Football Talk mentioned a couple of possible has-beens in Keyshawn Johnson, Daunte Culpepper, and Corey Dillon. Our very own Joe Davis says it should be Larry Johnson.Perhaps the best rumor may be offered at Packer Update when a source for the site suggests, "Fans might want to keep a very close eye on L.J. Smith (pictured). There are already rumblings that Ted Thompson will go hard after the former Rutgers star should he make it to free agency next March.?Smith is currently a tight end for the Philadelphia Eagles who is set to become a free agent next season. But could a trade be in the works yet this season?Photo credit: The Associated Press
Packer supposedly to bring in "Big name"
2007-06-26 17:13:00
George Koonce, who recently left the Green Bay Packer front office for an administrative job at Marquette University, has created a monster that has taken on a life of its own when he said during a radio interview that the Packers were going to bring in a "big name."Koonce's comments came on Milwaukee's "The Gary and Cliff Show" heard on WSSP (AM-1250).Koonce is quoted as saying, "The offseason's not over with quite yet, so don't be surprised if ... a big name (comes) in before training camp."Koonce said that it would be an offensive player, but declined to give any furthur information.Koonce added, "I'm not going to spill the beans, but ... I sniffed around a little bit before I left."Michael David Smith of ProFootballTalk.com suggests, "Wide receiver/ESPN analyst Keyshawn Johnson, soon-to-be-available Dolphins quarterback Daunte Culpepper and Chiefs running back Larry Johnson were the first names that came to mind."Former Patriots running back Corey Dillon has been mentioned ...

Mutual Interest Between Titans & Keyshawn Johnson
2007-05-18 17:16:00
Mutual Interest Between Titans, KeyshawnBy TERESA M. WALKERAP Sports WriterNASHVILLE, Tenn. -- The Tennessee Titans need an experienced receiver to help Vince Young, and said Thursday they are interested in veteran Keyshawn Johnson. "There's mutual interest I'd say right now," coach Jeff Fisher said. "I think we'll probably look into the possibility of pursuing things. Where that goes, I can't tell you."Johnson will visit the Titans on Friday. His relationship with Fisher goes back to Southern California, when the coach played for the Trojans and Johnson was a ball boy."I know Jeff, but I don't know the organization and I don't know the makeup of the team and the coaching staff. I know a little bit about Norm Chow. I know Norm from college. At the same time, I want to make sure everything's the right fit," Johnson said."I was in a situation last year I thought was the right situation, and wind up a year later going in another direction. I want to make sure it's something eve...
Could the Packers tempt Keyshawn Johnson?
2007-05-03 13:40:00
Recently released wide receiver Keyshawn Johnson is a free agent?Do the Packers want him? Should they want him?"The Packers do need an offensive jolt, don't they? Why not take some of those bundles of unused salary cap cash out of mothballs and tempt Johnson with an incentive-laden one-year-only deal? Few if any teams can match Thompson dollar-for-dollar, and 'Key' does like his money," writes Pete Barth of the Sheboygan Press. But the Packers already have 12 receivers on their roster. Do they need another one? Photo credit: Chuck Burton for the Associated Press
Keyshawn Johnson, Anyone??
2007-05-02 18:02:00
Could Johnson Help The Broncos? By now you have heard that the Carolina Panthers kicked Keyshawn to the curb in Carolina.  I find it hilarious that Johnson spent all off-season telling anyone who asked that he thought Dwayne Jarrett should go back to USC.  That Dwayne Jarrett wasn't ready for the NFL.  That Dwayne Jarret needed to get tougher.  In the end, the Panthers drafted Jarrett, causing a sweet situation during the draft when Johnson actually interviewed his "teammate", kissing his ass in the process, only to be cut becuase the Panthers drafted Jarrett.  Sweet irony at it's best.... Anyway, like him or hate him, Johnson is still productive at 34 and is an intriguing player for the Broncos to consider.  Johnjon still has great hands, and let's face it, the Broncos receiving situation isn't exaclty a sure thing after Javon Walker.   Here are Johnson's numbers last season and during his career -- Obviously the Broncos don't have a ton o...
Carolina Panthers Cut Keyshawn Johnson
2007-05-02 17:04:00
Carolina Panthers Cut Keyshawn JohnsonBy MIKE CRANSTONAP Sports WriterCHARLOTTE, N.C. -- When the Carolina Panthers drafted Southern California receiver Dwayne Jarrett in the second round Saturday, Keyshawn Johnson was ecstatic."This is a great pick. We need another wide receiver," Johnson gushed while working as a draft analyst for ESPN. "This guy is much like me. I'm going to teach him how to play from the point of attack."He won't get the chance. The Panthers deemed their older former USC receiver was expendable Tuesday. Johnson, the 6-foot-4 possession receiver and 1996 No. 1 overall pick, was released to make way for a younger 6-foot-4 possession receiver taken with the 45th pick."We appreciated the contribution of Keyshawn in his season with the Panthers," coach John Fox said. "He brought us high production, but at this time, we are in a situation in which we have a number of young receivers and thought this was the right time to make the decision."The Panthers also selected ...

5K Fine For Keyshawn Johnson
2006-12-13 02:26:02
No mention of it yet over at Panthers.com but Keyshawn Johnson’s little spat in the fourth quarter at the weekend left the Panther’s receiver with a $5,000 fine after throwing his helmet up the sideline and yelling at an official. Get a grip man! Fair enough, he’s got a right to be pissed off, if the pass interference call had gone the other way the Panthers could have been smiling on a 31-27 victory but the scoreline stayed 27-24 thanks to some handy work by Jeff Garcia. Bit heavy treatment on the former Cowboy but there you go!
