I felt the rising of the rice price even if I live here in Saudi Arabia because I used to buy rice here less than $1 per sack of rice here before. That is a 5Kg per sack! Later on as I read the new paper I found out that countries like Thailand has increased their rice price in the world market. Philippine is doing the same but I think Philippines itself can not support its people alone. Philippines as far as I know used to buy rice from Thailand and other neighboring countries. I think this is just right because the oil rich countries are selling their oil or gasoline very high too that all part of the world are affected. But you if I am in the Philippines, I don't worry too much about rice because I eat other root craft like sweet potatoes and cassava. I also love planting vegetables in my backyard. If you have extra piece of land I think it it is better to plan vegetables and save money on it.

After just over three weeks in Germany, early this afternoon we crossed over the border into Belgium. We went via a very popular tourist destination where the borders of Germany, Holland and Belgium all meet at a single point. Actually, there is nothing much to see, except a post in the ground representing the exact spot. The lack of much else did not, however, stop swarms of people coming to the slightly naff cafés and gift shops. Below is a picture of people milling around the very spot. I do have a picture of the cafés and gift shops, to prove that they exist, but it is slightly less exciting than the picture below, so I'll spare you the bandwidth. Doris has already covered most our our day and, in particular, the surprise visit of Gisela, Toni, Juliana and Felix which was a real treat.Here are some other random thoughts on our journey so far.Every day seems to begin and end the same way – limping. Amanhã, dia 21, no Kilombo de Benfica, decorre o II Gaitas em Festa, encontro de escolas e de grupos musicais que têm na gaita-de-foles a sua origem ou inspiração, organizado pela Trupe Boomerang. Às onze da manhã decorre um workshop dirigido por Paulo Marinho (Gaiteiros de Lisboa/Sétima Legião) dedicado à afinação de gaitas-de-foles em conjunto. A partir das 15h00 há demonstrações de escolas de gaitas-de-foles com os Bardoada, Casa Pia de Lisboa, Gil Teatro, Associação Gaita-de-Foles e Xuventude da Galiza. À noite, a partir das 20h00, há concertos pelos Trabucos (música medieval), Anaquiños da Terra (folk galega), Roncos do Diabo (que têm nas gaitas transmontanas as suas «armas» de eleição) e, como justos cabeças-de-cartaz, os incontornáveis Gaiteiros de Lisboa (na foto).
