Kimbo Slice has all the potential to become a legit MMA fighter, and despite that his career will most likely be short (he is 34 at this time) he will probably be a strong force during that time. Weird. I was surprised the ref let the fight go as long as he did, Abbot had his lights switched off at least twice before the ref ended it, but I suppose it's better to let the decision go unquestioned than have a few people in hysterics that "they called dat shit too early, son."Unfortunately, the only other fight I was able to see was the Edwards one. Kimbo Slice Ready for the UFC? Kimbo Slice vs Tank Abbott Fight Results
2008-02-17 15:09:00 Last night Showtime premiered the fight that we were all looking forward to, Kimbo Slice facing off with UFC legend Tank Abbott at EliteXC’s Street Certified Event. Here’s what happened, Kimbo and Tank came out and exchanged a few punches, Tank then locked up with Kimbo and put him up against the cage, Kimbo pushed off the cage and the two began to exchange punches again, Kimbo caught Tank with a left, hurting him. Tank feel forward a bit and Kimbo Capitalized with a round of uppercuts, Tank feel to the mat and held on to Kimbo’s leg while Kimbo unleashed punches standing up. Everything happened so quickly, in a matter of less a minute and a half the fight was over and Kimbo has once again proved himself. Dana, let’s start looking into getting this guy up against some real competition? By the way, the videos have made it to all of the popular video sharing sites already… quality sucks though. He has one of those "I-will-headbutt-you-on-princip-le-if-you-look-at-me-for-more-t-han-two-seconds" kind of faces. 2008-02-15 15:11:00 Is Kimbo Slice the real deal? He’s working hard as hell to prove he is. My money’s on Kimbo, however not everyone agrees with this, including UFC President Dana White. In a recent article published by Danny Acosta of MMA Madness, Danny notes that Dana White “buried” Kevin Ferguson, aka Kimbo Slice, saying that Kimbo would get hurt “real bad” fighting in the UFC. The logic behind this is because he lost (controversially - rules were broken) to 1 and 1 professional fighter Sean Gannon, while Sean was beaten badly in his UFC appearance.
