Whilst it's so obviously inspired by one from Amy Karol's bend the rules sewing, I didn't quite follow the pattern exactly - the real pattern requires enlarging on a photocopier and I couldn't be bothered going into town to find somewhere I could get that done (Impatient, moi?) So I just roughly drew it and so it wasn't to the exact measurements it should have been, which meant I had to guess the size of the handle and it turned out I didn't have enough matching fabric. So I stuck upon the brainwave of using the ribbon to make a handle. Cue ironing on interfacing and dealing with fraying ribbon (cue paining on of fray check!) Then it just didn't look quite right. The airlines launched its daily Delhi-Chandigarh- Mumbai flight, from New Delhi to Goa and Hyderabad, from Mumbai to Ahmedabad and from Chennai to Coimbatore. It had also increased the frequency of its Delhi-Hyderabad flight to thrice daily. "There were a number of travellers, be it business or holidays travellers, to Shimla and other hill stations, who were facing problems to visit Chandigarh. 2008-04-01 05:42:00 A few months back I promised that I will review Deccan website. To be very honest I didn't found any thing different or special to share. Every body knows it now has a feel of Kingfisher but, thats only the feel & nothing like Kingfisher. A jingle was there initially & I could not find it now. Infact, I downloaded it but, its not peppy. They have removed the history of the airline from their website, very sad. They have decreased the check-in weight to 13 kg. I have not flown in Deccan since, its merger with Kingfisher but, some of my close friends don't give healthy review for it. Same old story of being late. Now, the latest about it what I feared earlier. Deccan will cease to exist.

Kingfisher ties up with Emirates
2008-02-06 13:35:00 NEW DELHI: Kingfisher Airlines and Dubai's Emirates on Tuesday announced a tie-up to connect their frequent flyer programmes, enabling passengers of either carrier to earn points that will be redeemed on each other's network. The new alliance, aimed at expanding the benefits offered to members of their respective Frequent Flyer Programmes, also envisages that both airlines would explore and embark on mutually beneficial marketing opportunities, a Kingfisher release said. Members of both FFPs would be able to accrue points as per the actual miles flown and a 100 per cent bonus for Business Class flights of the other airline. 2008-02-02 12:08:00 MUMBAI (Reuters) - Deccan Aviation Ltd said on Thursday it would issue three shares for every seven held in Kingfisher Airlines as part of the merger of the latter's airline operations with itself. The merger will create one of the biggest airlines in the country with a market share of close to a third. The residual entity of Kingfisher Airlines will retain the ground handling and training business, it said in a statement. However, the combine is ridden with combined losses of more than 20 billion rupees and has said it may place shares worth up to $300 million with private equity firms over the next two quarters. Deccan reported a net loss of 1.91 billion rupees on revenues of 5.77 billion rupees in the quarter to December, hit by high fuel costs and cuthroat competition that kept fares low. The source said the deal would involve around 40 Airbus planes but the source did not know which types of planes. "This could be concluded quite quickly." Airbus had no immediate comment. Its entire aircraft fleet, livery, cabin crew and the ground handling infrastructure would be in colour red (against the current light blue) to bear a close resemblance with the existing format of Kingfisher Airlines. According to a source in the airline industry, the Air Deccan name would be retained, but its bare hand logo will be replaced by the logo of Kingfisher (bird).
